Chicago Priest Dies Of Self Inflicted Wounds
A Southwest Side priest who became well-known in Chicago’s Polish community over the years died Thursday of self-inflicted injuries.
Fr. Waclaw Jamroz, who was born in Poland and has been a pastor of Our Lady of the Snows Parish since 2004, passed away Thursday night in the parish rectory, according to a release from the Archdiocese of Chicago. Jamroz died of self-inflicted wounds.
Jamroz, 44, started a Spanish-speaking ministry in the parish after only two years on the job.
In the nineties, Jamroz became involved in radio and television programs aimed at the Polish-speaking community, the release said. Much of his work focused on the Blessed Mother and the rosary.
Our Lady of the Snows will hold visitation for Fr. Jamroz October 13, from 5 to 9 p.m. at 4810 South Leamingon Ave. A funeral Mass with Francis Cardinal George will be held October 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Sunday News
First Shot
Not that we don't to like to hear the Bible reading during Mass. We certainly do.
But then there was today's reading. We are talking about the second reading. Ms. Beena Sheshadri did a good job. She read it better than any priest ever could.
And she read it longer than any priest or shushru!
We got to tell you! She wouldn't stop. What happened to her? She just kept reading as if it would never end. We are sure she read more than a chapter! It was ridiculous!
We are sure a lot of people who listened to her monsoon torrent would agree with us.
Second Shot
Maybe it's just me. Wondering for myself just for the heck of it. It's about today's sermon. It was very good. It was about the owner of the vineyard.
As we all know, he had a lot of work to be done at the vineyard. Some laborers started early in the morning, say at 6 a.m., some at 10 O'clock, some at 2 in the afternoon etc. Some even started just before closing time! And the owner of the vineyard pays all of them the same wages! Can you believe it? And when someone who came early complained, the owner said, "shut up, or get out. Its my money, I will do whatever I want with my money."
Is it fair? So the laborers who came early and worked hard all day are fools? If they came at 2 or 4 in the afternoon who would have done the job they did in the morning? We are not blaspheming, but at the same time we don't think it was fair at all.
Come to think of it our priests, most of them at least, behave just like the vineyard owner. The Bible gives them parables for justifying any and every injustice!
Third Shot
Fr. Antony is still whining. Now the wimpy priest, the little big despot, comes and tells the people that there are openings for the second CCD. Yes, from Ist grade to the last grade. You know the second CCD is during the time of the 11 O'clock Malayalam Mass.
The vicar's English dreams are biting the dust. They are shattered. Looks like he has to remain an African Crab for ever! The people of this parish have spoken by their actions. They effectively boycotted the English Mass, and sent their children to CCD during that time. More power to them! The parents, and the children themselves prefer to attend the Malayalam Mass. Fr. Antony has to swallow this bitter pill. Kashaayam, in other words. Drink it, father, take a deep breath, and pretend nothing happened.
Thank God our children and parents do not follow the selfish advise of the priests!
It is high time our vicar realized he is fighting a losing battle. The people of this parish, the hard working people of this community, are not short-sighted dimwits like our church authorities. We are here to warn the vicar: do not mislead our children. Do not lead them into damnation. You have no business interfering with how we should bring up our children. Just minister to us, make a few bucks and get out of here before the people of this parish raise up and show you who the real boss is.

St. Timothy Church in Chicago.
Here comes crashing down another foolish dream of Bishop Angadiath, of a second parish church in Chicago. No more regular Mass at St. Timothy. Reason: no attendance. Seems like a precursor to what is going to happen in Hellwood.

In the ever increasing noise and din of complaints about parking and other issues in our church, many other important matters get drowned out. The plight of School of Languages is one such. The vicar has systematically neglected the School of Languages to such an extend, that if it were not for the dedicated perseverance of the Language teaches it would have been history a long time ago. In order to establish the supremacy of English, the Vicar had to first wipe out any vestiges of Malayalam.
The School of Languages was such an integral part of our children's Sunday church experience up until a few years ago. Whereas the vicar came out swinging for the youth with his English love and youth love only recently, he was very shrewdly laying the ground work for it for some time. He knew before he could effectively ram English down our children's throats he had to remove all and every vestiges of Malayalam. He started with the School of Languages. He marginalized it. The schedules were set so inconveniently that it became almost impossible for children to attend it. This is a school from which more than a generation of our children had any real exposure to their parents' language and culture. Remember, most of the children serving in Sunday Holy Mass are the alumni of the School of Languages.
If the School of Languages were to die, the sole responsibility rests with the vicar. It will be a great trajedy for our community. It will be such a loss for our children.
It will be to our benefit, if responsible parents wake up to the reality. It is our children's life and future that are being distorted by this demented schemer.

Why Do We Need A New Shepherd?
Wow! We touched some raw nerves! We wonder what blew the short fuses of some of our readers to aggressively attack us and equally defend the vicar.
Actually we never accused the vicar of manipulating the polls. It is the youth cadre and other cronies he has set in place that is doing the dirty work for him.
This is how it works. He has his handpicked and loyal supporters installed in every position in the church. His black hands worked behind every election or selection in our church. Our chotta leaders owe their positions to none other than the vicar. Like a dog trainer who rewards his dogs with bits of bones, he rewards them that serve him. He very shrewdly keeps their tails wagging, because he knows stormy days are ahead. And he would need their support. Every one in the parish leadership is nothing but political goodas of the vicar.
These people could care less about our parish or our church. They just turn a blind eye to every problem in the church. The vicar and his parish leadership willfully pretend that we have no problems, rather than confronting and solving them. They believe in a make-believe world of a magnificent Cathedral that seats 5000 souls, with a thousand car parking lot. A cathedral with $130,000 sound system that will put all the singing cherubs in heaven to shame. And may more other beautiful things, they simply believe. No one can bring them back to real life, and make them look at the shortcomings we have at our church and correct them. That is why we need a change in the parish leadership. We need a new captain who will navigate this ship to calmer waters. We need a new shepherd who will lead his sheep to greener pastures.
In future posts we will try to spell out specific issues we are facing. Because, we believe, correcting these will be in the best interest of our church.

No Sour Grapes
We really have to give to the vicar. His youth brigade and assorted cronies are shamelessly manipulating our opinion poll about the vicar. There is no question, when it is a matter of their man's survival these people stoop to gutter politics. We have learned from various sources that there is a concerted effort from these parties to hijack the poll results to save the vicar's reputation. His supporters are actively campaigning by cell phone and email. You have seen the result of their shameful actions. There were two sudden spikes in pro vicar numbers in the past few days. As the end of the poll nears we are sure to see more of these spikes which we believe will put the vicar supporters in winning position. We respect whatever the public opinion is. But thwarting the majority with silly shenanigans as vicar's lapdogs are doing proves how precarious their man's survival is.

What a Sorry Manglish Mass!
Thank God I am not Fr. Antony!
If I were him, I would be so embarrassed I would bury my face behind some ammachi's ഞൊറി.
I am talking about the dismal attendance at the youth's special Manglessh Mass today. Did anybody notice how many so called youth were there today for that Mass? Not very many. A few may be. And, surprise, some adults. Actually there were more adults than children. But the church was basically empty.
It is high time Fr. Antony realized his love affair with Mangleesh is an utter failure. The shepherd leads one way, the sheep goes the other way. It seems the sheep know the direction better than the shepherd. Some shepherd!
Honestly it is decision time for Fr. Antony. Come back to the real world. We know it is painful. But you have to realize the fact that the 9:30 English Mass is an experiment in futility. Syro-Malabar Catholics of Chicago are not African Crabs, like you preached some time ago. We are Indian Crabs. Look at yourself in the mirror, father: you are an Indian crab yourself. Indian crabs do not shed their skin as easy as the African crabs.
At the same time we support English Mass. Our children have to live in this country and be part of the American culture. They don't get that by attending the present kind of Manglish Mass. We said it before, we say it again: we dare the authorities to arrange a real English Mass weekly, by an American priest, for our children. If you are honest in your intentions, and if you truly stand for the youth, love the youth as you claim, that is what you should do.
As it is, 11:00 O'Clock Malayalam Mass is too late for a lot of families. It is too inconvenient for many. Whereas 9:30 slot, the prime time, is wasted for for the benefit of a selfish few.
Fr. Antony has to show the maturity to correct his mis-steps.

As it is, 11:00 O'Clock Malayalam Mass is too late for a lot of families. It is too inconvenient for many. Whereas 9:30 slot, the prime time, is wasted for for the benefit of a selfish few.
