ചിക്കാഗോ സീറോ മലബാര്‍ ഇടവകയുടെ ശൈശവകാലം മുതലേ അതിന്റെ ഒരു നെടും തൂണും, സജീവ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകയും, നിസ്വാര്‍ത്ഥ സേവികയുമായി പ്രശസ്ത സേവനം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന സീറോ മലബാറുകാരുടെ സ്വന്തം "അമ്മായി" എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന കത്രിക്കുട്ടി പുതുക്കുളം തന്റെ CCD അധ്യാപക സ്ഥാനം രാജി വച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
1970 കളുടെ അവസാനത്തില്‍, ചിക്കാഗോ സീറോ മലബാര്‍ സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ ഭ്രൂണദിശയില്‍ തുടങ്ങി, 2009 വരെ ഒരു നിലയിലല്ലെങ്കില്‍ മറ്റൊരു നിലയില്‍ സ്ലാഘനീയമായ പല സേവനങ്ങളും സ്വന്തം സഭക്കും സമൂഹത്തിനും ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള ഒരപൂര്‍വ വ്യക്തിയാണ് അമ്മായി. അങ്ങനെയുള്ള ഈ അമ്മായിയുടെ പൊടുന്നനെയുള്ള ഈ വിടവാങ്ങലില്‍ പല ദുരൂഹതകളുമുണ്ട്. സീറോ മലബാര്‍ ഇടവക നേതൃത്വത്തിന്റെ ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ വഴിവിട്ട നയങ്ങളില്‍ പ്രതിഷേധിച്ചാണ് അവരുടെ രാജി എന്നാണ് ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കറിയാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞത്.
2009 ലെ പാരിഷ് കൌണ്‍സില്‍ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പില്‍ വികാരി ഫാ. ആന്റണി അത്യന്തം വഴിവിട്ട അഴിമതികളാണ് നടത്തിയതെന്ന് പൊതുവെ ആരോപണമുണ്ട്. സ്വയമായുണ്ടാക്കിയ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് നിയമങ്ങള്‍ തരം പോലെ അദ്ദേഹം തിരുത്തിക്കുറിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഉദാ: ഏതെങ്കിലും വാര്‍ഡില്‍ ഒന്നില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ സ്ഥാനാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍ ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ നറുക്കിട്ട് തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് നടത്തുക എന്നതായിരുന്നു നിയമം. എന്നാല്‍ തന്റെ ഏതെങ്കിലും പ്രിയ സ്ഥാനാര്‍ത്ഥിക്ക് പകരം തനിക്ക് അഭികാമ്യനല്ലാത്ത മറ്റൊരു വ്യക്തി മുമ്പോട്ട്‌ വാന്നാല്‍ റൂളുകള്‍ മാറിയത്രെ! ഉദാഹരണങ്ങള്‍ ഏറെയാണ്‌: SMCC യില്‍ പ്രസിഡണ്ട്‌ സ്ഥാനത്തേക്ക് 6 പേര്‍ മത്സരിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ അച്ഛന്‍ അനുരഞ്ജനം ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്തു! അങ്ങനെ ജോഷി വള്ളിക്കളം പ്രസിഡണ്ട്‌ ആകുകവഴി പാരിഷ് കമ്മിറ്റിയിലേയ്ക്ക് ഞുഴഞ്ഞു കയറി. തലയില്‍ ഉള്ളത് കളി മണ്ണ് മാത്രമായതുകൊണ്ടും നാക്കില്‍ എല്ലില്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ട് വിടുവായത്തരം മാത്രം പറയുന്നതു കൊണ്ടും അച്ഛന്‍ വളരെ വളരെ ഹാപ്പി. Vincent de Paul സംഘടനയില്‍ പ്രസിഡന്റ് സ്ഥാനത്തേക്ക് രണ്ടു പേര്‍ മത്സരിച്ചു. എങ്കിലും രണ്ടുപേരിലും ത്രപ്തനല്ലായിരുന്ന അച്ഛന്‍ സെലെക്ഷന്‍ പൊടുന്നനെ നീട്ടി വയ്ക്കുകയാണ് ചെയ്തത്.
എന്നാല്‍ സീ. എം. എല്‍ പ്രസിഡന്റ് സ്ഥാനത്തേയ്ക്കുള്ള തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പില്‍ അച്ഛന്‍ നടത്തിയ തിരുമറിയാണ് അമ്മായിയെ CCD സ്ഥാനത്തുനിന്നും രാജി വയ്ക്കാന്‍ പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചത് എന്ന് പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. ഇക്കാര്യത്തില്‍ അച്ഛന്റെ നടപടികള്‍ സാമാന്യ മര്യാദയ്ക്ക് ചേരാത്തതും അമ്മായിക്ക് വ്യക്തിപരമായി അപമാനകരവുമായിരുന്നുവത്രേ. പത്തു മുപ്പത്തഞ്ച് വര്‍ഷം സര്‍വ വിധ വൈതരണികളേയും വെല്ലുവിളികളെയും പുല്ലുപോലെ നേരിട്ടു അതിജീവിച്ച അമ്മായി ഇങ്ങനെ ഒരു സ്റ്റെപ്‌ എടുക്കണമെങ്കില്‍ അതിന് കാരണം നിസ്സാരമായിരിക്കാന്‍ സാധ്യതയില്ല.

You have to tell this to the Bishop and the Vicar. They cheated the public, they destroyed our unity, and they diluted the sanity of the Altar by putting the superstitious Claver cross. They are really parasites of our community and they are in shepherds dress while they real wolf inside.

I think Ammayee resigned because I registered to sit in her class to teach her what the Bible says and how to read it.Instead of she teaching the 4th grader, I love she teach some elderly people who can ask some questions.Ho!,I really MISS her. I really don't see her in the church for a while.
