കഴിഞ്ഞ തിരുനാളിന് വാച്ചാകള് ചുണ്ടന് വള്ളം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. വച്ചാ ചുണ്ടന് . തിരു സ്വരൂപം എഴുന്നള്ളിക്കാന് . ഇനിയിപ്പോള് ചിറയില്ക്കാര്ക്ക് കുറയ്ക്കുവാന് പറ്റുമോ!
ആനയെ തന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവരണം. കൊമ്പനാനയെ തന്നെ എഴുന്നുള്ളിക്കണം.

എല്ലാം പേരെടുത്ത, തലയെടുപ്പുള്ള ഗജ വീരന്മാര്.
"ആനയെ നാട്ടില് നിന്നും തന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവരാണോ? ഇവിടെ നിന്നും ഒന്നു രണ്ടെണ്ണത്തിനെ വാട്കയ്ക്കെടുത്താല് പോരെ. വല്ല സര്ക്കസ്സുകാരുടെ കയ്യില് നിന്നും?" കുടുംബത്തിലെ കാരണവര്ക്കൊരു സംശയം.
"പോര. നാട്ടില് നിന്നും തന്നെ വേണം. ഇവിടുത്തെ ആനകളൊക്കെ ഒരു തരം സിസ്സികളാ ." എല്ലാവരും ഒന്നടങ്കം പറഞ്ഞു.
"ആ മണികണ്ഠന് ആന ആള് പിശകാ. കഴിഞ്ഞ ഉത്സവത്തിന് അവന് ഇടഞ്ഞു. ഒന്നു രണ്ടു പേരെ ചവിട്ടി കൊന്നു. പത്രത്തില് വായിച്ചില്ലേ. ഏഷ്യ നെറ്റിലും വന്നു." കാരണവര്.
"അതാ നമുക്കു വേണ്ടത്. ആന ഇടയണം. ശരിക്ക് ഇടയണം. പുബ്ലിസിറ്റിക്ക് അത് വളരെ നല്ലതാ. പത്രത്തിലും TV ലും ഒക്കെ വലിയ ന്യൂസായിരിക്കും. ആരാണ് ഈ ചിറയിക്കാരെന്ന് ലോകമൊന്നു കാണണം."
"അപ്പോള് ആനയ്ക്ക് വിസ വേണോ? ഒരു സ്പൌസ് വിസ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചാലോ ? " കാരണവര്ക്ക് അപ്പോഴും സംശയം.
"ആനയ്ക്ക് വിസ വേണമെങ്കില് തന്നെ സ്പൌസ് വിസയുടെ ആവശ്യമില്ല. നമ്മുടെ bishop അല്ലെ ഉള്ളത്. അങ്ങോരെക്കൊണ്ട് സ്പോന്സര് ചെയ്യിക്കാം. "
" അത് നല്ല idea ആണ്. bishop അച്ചന്മാരെ ചറ പറാന്നു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നുണ്ട്. എന്നുവെച്ച് ആനയെ...."

"എട്ടും പൊട്ടും തിരിയാത്ത ഡസന് കണക്കിന് അച്ചന്മാരെ പുല്ലു പോലെ ബിഷപ്പിന് സ്പോന്സര് ചെയ്യാമെങ്കില്, ഇത്രയും ബുദ്ധി ശക്തിയും, ഓര്മ്മ ശക്തിയും ഐശ്വര്യവുമുള്ള ആനകളെ ബിഷപ്പിന് പുഷ്പം പോലെ സ്പോന്സര് ചെയ്യാവുന്നതെയുള്ളൂ. എടാ ജോമോനെ, മണികണ്ഠനെ ഇടയിപ്പിക്കുന്ന കാര്യം ആനക്കാരനോട് പ്രത്യേകം ഒന്നു പറയണേ. മാത്രമല്ല പിതാവും വികാരിയച്ചനും, പറ്റുമെങ്കില് ആ കടുപ്പനും പ്രദിക്ഷണ ത്തിനു അവന്റെ പുറത്തു തന്നെ സവാരി ചെയ്യുമെന്നും ഉറപ്പാക്കണം. The syro malabar voice is behind this 'curtain torturing'
Hello Anoni, we tore our curtain sheela centuries ago. When the Portuguese came they showed us what we call the "shaddy" or "jatty" or "brief". We liked it better than the sheela. Now we know some backward people from South Kerala,like you, Bishop and Thundathil, still think sheela is the best thing in the world. That is because you people still live in the sixteenth century and do not know how comfortable Jatty is.
We sincerely believe the curtain was an unauthorized, and hence illegal thing to be hanging in the church. We certainly empathize with the person who did it. Jesus himself said something to the effect that if something causes you scandal, cut it out. The curtain was a flagrant waste of over $26,000 of our hard earned money. We believe every true believer has the right, no duty, to stand up for their faith. Even to die for it, like many do.
Having said this, it is pure rumor-mongering to accuse voice being behind the "curtain torturing". Not we did not want to, but like so many hundreds of Northern Kerala sissies, we didn't have the guts.
