നമ്മുടെ ബിഷപ് ഹൌസില് നിന്നും പള്ളിയിലേയ്ക്ക് St Charles റോഡ് വഴി കിഴക്കോട്ടു വരുമ്പോള് എക്സ്പ്രസ്സ് വേയുടെ തെക്കു കിഴക്കായി ഒരു ആരാധനാ സൌധം ഉയര്ന്നു വരുന്നതു നിങ്ങള് ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ എന്നറിയില്ല. ഇല്ലെങ്കില് അതൊന്നു ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുവാന് ഞങ്ങള് ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്യുകയാണ്. അതൊരു മുസ്ലിം ദേവാലയമാണ്. ഒരു മോസ്ക്.
ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഓര്മ്മയില് അതൊരു പഴയ, അടച്ചു പൂട്ടിയ വിദ്യാലയമായിരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോള് അത് തികച്ചും മനോഹരമായ ഒരു മോസ്ക് ആയി രൂപാന്തരപ്പെട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കയാണ്. ഒരു താഴികക്കുടത്തിന്റെ നിര്മ്മാണം കഴിഞ്ഞു . പഴയ സ്കൂളിന്റെ സൌകര്യങ്ങളും പുതിയതായി പണിയുന്ന ഭാഗവും കൂടി സമന്ന്വയിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് വളരെ വിദഗ്ധമായ ഒരു നിര്മ്മാണ ശൈലിയാണ് അവര് സ്വീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. തച്ചു ശാസ്ത്ര ജ്ഞാനവും, സൌന്ദര്യ ബോധവും അനുഭവ സമ്പത്തും ഉള്ള വ്യക്തികളുടെ മേല് നോട്ടത്തിലാണ് ഈ മോസ്കിന്റെ നിര്മാണം നടക്കുന്നതെന്ന് ആര്ക്കും ഒറ്റ നോട്ടത്തില് മനസ്സിലാകും. പഴയ സ്കൂളിന്റെ എല്ലാ സൌകര്യങ്ങളും ഉപയൊഗപ്രദമാകുക എന്നുള്ളതായിരുന്നു അവരുടെ ഉദ്ദേശമെന്ന് മോസ്കിന്റെ ഒരു പ്രതിനിധി ഞങ്ങളോട് പറഞ്ഞു. അതനുസരിച്ചുള്ള രൂപ കല്പ്പനയാണ് അവര് ആദ്യം മുതലേ ചെയ്തത്.
ഇവിടെയാണ് നമ്മുടെ പള്ളി പണിക്കാര്ക്ക് പറ്റിയ മണ്ടത്തരം. അനുഭവ സമ്പത്തില്ലാത്ത അഞ്ജന്മാര്. ഒരു കോഴിക്കൂട് പോലും ഈ ജന്മത്ത് വിഭാവനം ചെയ്യാന് കഴിവില്ലാത്ത നിരക്ഷര കുക്ഷികള് 11 മില്യണ്ന്റെ പള്ളി നിര്മ്മിക്കാന് ഒരുമ്പെട്ടിറങ്ങി. വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ യോഗ്യതോയോ അനുഭവ സമ്പത്തോ ഒന്നു മല്ലല്ലോ പ്രധാനം. അധികാരികള് അതൊട്ട് നോക്കുന്നുമില്ല. ഏത് സ്ഥാനത്തേക്കും ചാന്സ് കിട്ടിയാല് അള്ളിപ്പിടിച്ചു കയറുന്ന കൊതിയന്മാരുടെ കൂടാണ് നമ്മുടെ പള്ളി. ചാന്സ് കിട്ടിയാല് വികാരിയുടെയോ, ബിഷപ്പിന്റെയോ കസേരയില് കയറി ഇറക്കാനും ഇവര് മടിക്കില്ല. അച്ഛന് ഒന്നു ഓഫര് ചെയ്യേണ്ട കാര്യം മാത്രം. അതുകൊണ്ടാണല്ലോ നമ്മുടെ പഴയ പള്ളിയെയും സ്കൂളിനെയും അവര് ഒരു മാതിരി കണ്ടം ചെയ്തു, അവ പുതിയ പള്ളിയുടെ ഭാഗമാക്കേണ്ടതിന് പകരം. ഓഫീസുകളും എല്ലാം അവര്ക്ക് പഴയത് പോരായിരുന്നു. എല്ലാം പുതിയ പള്ളിയുടെ മണ്ടയ്ക്ക് തന്നെ വയ്ക്കണമായിരുന്നു.
ഞങ്ങള് ഇപ്പോള് കൂടുതല് ഒന്നും പറയുന്നില്ല. ആ മോസ്കിന്റെ നിര്മാണം കഴിയുമ്പോള് സാധിക്കുമെങ്കില് നിങ്ങള് ഒന്നു സന്ദര്ശിക്കുക. അവിടെ നിങ്ങള് ആവശ്യത്തിന് പാര്ക്കിംഗ് കാണും, ഷട്ടില് വണ്ടി കാണില്ല. അവിടെ നിങ്ങള് അല്ലാഹൂവിനെ കാണും, ഇബിലീസുകളെ കാണില്ല. സേവന സന്നദ്ധരായ മനുഷ്യരെ കാണും, അധികാര മോഹികളായ കുട്ടി നേതാക്കളെ കാണില്ല. അവിടെ നിന്നും അറബിയിലുള്ള ബാങ്ക് വിളി നിങ്ങള് കേള്ക്കും. ഉര്ദുവില് ജനങ്ങള് നിസ്കരിക്കുന്നത് നിങ്ങള് കാണും. ഇംഗ്ലീഷില് ഖുര്-ആന് വായിക്കുന്നത് നിങ്ങള് കാണില്ല. മുല്ലാക്കമാര് ഇംഗ്ലീഷില് പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നതും നിങ്ങള് കേള്ക്കില്ല. അവരുടെ കുട്ടികള് പഠിക്കുന്നതും പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുന്നതും ഉര്ദുവിലോ അറബിയിലോ ആയിരിക്കും.
കാരണം അവര് അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ മഹത്ത്വത്തിനായി മാത്രം ആ മോസ്ക് പണി തീര്ത്തു. നമ്മളോ ദേവാലയം പണി തീര്ത്തത് അധികാരികളുടെ മഹത്വത്തിനായി മാത്രം.
പറയുന്നതില് നാണക്കെടുണ്ട്. നമ്മള് നമ്മുടെ മുസിലിം സഹോദരരെക്കാള് എത്രയോ മ്ലേച്ചര്!

I dont live in Chicago, but I happened to read your blog.
Whoever you are, I congratulate you in your writings.
I hope our church leaders will open their eyes and mind to learn more about the problems with in them and fix it rather than keep building many churches here.
I notied one thing, no matter which city, the church becomes a only a place or social gathering rather than a place of worship.

The Good Things ( Each person's perception is different. To me this R great)
1. A beautiful Cathedral (Cost may be high/Low).. But I can tell people I belong to a beautiful cathedral. And BTW I am a proud contributor too. ( There R mistakes and with some points you are right too. But over critisism do not bring any seriousness)
2. My kids goes to the Malabar Church and they have a place to go on Sunday.
3. Fr Antony is leading a good leadreship. Under him the Youth is strong. I am very happy to see that. ( The last retreat there were 500 Kids - Amazing - Praise The Lord)
There R many more to write.. But let me see How U bash my comments above and I will write later..
Finally.. One request..
Do not allow people to publish vulgar language agaist the priests annd Bishops.. The result will be.. It may not be affecting you. BUT it will definitely affect your kids .. It will runin your kids.. If you strike agaist the Jesus' people who are our priests, it will KILL you.

About your comments about the beauty of the cathedral and the leadership of Fr. Antony, what can I say. Sometimes it is better for a wise man to keep his silence.
You have been to too many charismatic retreats. It has fried your brains. You are beyond help. Sorry.
I am a Catholic by birth ever since I started reading the New Testament carefully I got very disturbed about our religion and religious practices. According to Mathew and other gospels, so many things we do in church are not in the bible and so much are against teachings of Jesus Christ. Since the Catholic religion was formed to spread the good teachings of Jesus then I expect this religion to adhere to what is in the bible.
For example Jesus forbade Idol worship and public prayers and rituals. Jesus said when you pray must go to the closet and pray and must not use repetition prayers. Do not shout and do not collect money in public. What we read from books and saying rosary are repetition prayers. What I do see above alter in most churches there is a figure of crucified Jesus hanging. What I see under this bloodied and naked body of Jesus, very elegantly dressed priest in some cases a bishop with a princely hat and other ornaments. I am confused about this picture in a church, did any time Jesus wore any of these kinds of dress in his life?
In the bible says in several places, that there is only one father and that father is in heaven and there is only one Holy Father that is God. Then, what is the reason behind in calling a priest father and calling Pope holy. I am not making up any of these things. What is more important to a Christian those Canonical laws or teachings of Jesus? I can only have one master not two. What I understand in the early period of Christianity leaders in the movement called each other brothers and sisters all was equal.
It is very hard for me to come to a church and fallow all the rituals and same time tries to be a good believer in teachings of Jesus. I would appreciate your answer.

Bishop Angadiaths is deviating and confusing the believers. Our church basement has already filled with motionless idols. Our cathedral is further filled with graceless priests and a bishop. The worst is the bishops’ purple underwear that is hanging in our cathedral and forces the believers to bow before it.
