പുരോഹിതരുടെ പതനങ്ങളെയും അതിനുള്ള ശിക്ഷകളേയും പറ്റി വിശുദ്ധ ഗ്രന്ഥത്തിലും വളരെയധികം പരാമര്ശങ്ങളുണ്ട്. ആരംഭ സഭയിലെ രണ്ടു പുതുപുത്തന് പട്ടക്കാരെയെടുക്കാം. ആരോണ്ന്റെ മക്കള് നാദാബും അബിഹു ഉം. പറഞ്ഞാല് വിശ്വസിക്കില്ല. രണ്ടുപേരും ധൂപക്കുറ്റികൊണ്ട് കളിച്ചു. (നമ്മുടെ സ്വന്തം കപ്യാര് അപ്പച്ചനെപ്പോലെ). നിറയെ കുന്തരിക്കം വാരിയിട്ടു. ശരിക്ക് പുകയും തീയും വരുവാന് വേറെ എന്തോ അന്യ വസ്തുവും കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്ത്തു. ഫലമോ. തീ ആളിക്കത്തി. രണ്ടുപേരും യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പില് വച്ചു തന്നെ തീ പിടിച്ചു വെന്തു മരിച്ചു. സംഗതി കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോളല്ലേ അറിയുന്നത് ബലിയര്പ്പണത്തിന് മുമ്പ് രണ്ടുപേരും അല്പ്പം വീശിയിട്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്ന്. (Leviticus 10:1-9). അല്പ്പം കടന്നു പോയെങ്കിലും ദൈവം പാഠം പഠിപ്പിച്ചോ ഇല്ലയോ!
വേറെയും രണ്ടു വിരുതന്മാര് പുരോഹിതരുണ്ട്. ഇവരും സഹോദരര് തന്നെ. ഇലായ്യുടെ മക്കള് ഹോഫ്നിയും ഫിനെയാസും. ശിലോ എന്ന ദേശത്ത് സേവനം ചെയ്തിരുന്നവര്. തല തിരിഞ്ഞുള്ള പോക്കായിരുന്നു ഇരുവരുടെയും. ഇലായ് പഠിച്ച പണി പതിനെട്ടു നോക്കി മക്കളെ ഒന്നു നേരെ ആക്കുവാന് . നടന്നില്ല. (1 samuel 4:11,17 അവസാനം യഹോവ തന്നെ വേണ്ട പോലെ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തു. ശോചനീയമായ ഒരു ദുര്മരണം. (1 samuel 23-25).
ഒരു കാര്യം എടുത്ത് പറഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളട്ടെ. ഹോഫ്നിയുടെയും ഫിനെയാസിന്റെയും പാപം മദ്യപാനമോ പരസ്ത്രീ വേഴ്ചയോ പോലെ വെറുമൊരു മാനുഷീക ബലഹീനതയുടെ ഫലമായിരുന്നില്ല. പ്രത്യുത അത് പുരോഹിതവൃത്തി, അല്ലെങ്കില് പുരോഹിത ധര്മ്മത്തില് വന്ന വീഴ്ചയുടെ ഫലമായിരുന്നു. അതായത് ഈ രണ്ട് പോക്കിരികളും അവരുടെ അധികാരം, പുരോഹിതര് എന്ന സ്ഥാനം, തങ്ങള് സേവിക്കുവാനും സംരക്ഷിക്കുവാനും നേര്വഴിക്കു നയിക്കുവാനും കടപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നതായ ജനങ്ങളെ ചൂഷണം ചെയ്യുവാന് ഉപയോഗിച്ചു. വേലി തന്നെ വിളവു തിന്നുന്നു എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ പോലെ. അവരുടെ പൌരോഹിത്യ അധികാരം ദുര്വിനിയോഗിച്ചു അവര് കടുത്ത വിശ്വാസ വഞ്ചന നടത്തി. (Hebrews 5:1). ഇത് ഇത്തിരി അതിരുവിട്ട പാപമായിരുന്നു എന്ന് നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് തോന്നുന്നില്ലേ?
ഈ രണ്ട് വിരുതന്മാരും ചെയ്ത രണ്ട് പാതകങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റി വി. ഗ്രന്ഥത്തില് പ്രത്യേകം പ്രതിപാതിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.
ഒന്നാമതായി അവര് "യഹോവയുടെ ഭവനത്തില് ഒത്തുകൂടിയ സ്ത്രീകളെ പീഡിപ്പിച്ചു " (1 samuel 2:22). അതായത് സ്ത്രീ പീഡനം . ചുരുക്കിപ്പറഞ്ഞാല് തങ്ങള് സംരക്ഷിക്കാനും സഹായിക്കാനും കടപ്പെട്ട സ്ത്രീജനങ്ങളെ, ദൈവ വിശ്വാസികളായിപ്പോയി എന്നുള്ള അവരുടെ ബലഹീനതകള് മുതലെടുത്ത് അവര് ലൈംഗീകമായി ചൂഷണം ചെയ്തു. യഹോവയുടെ ഭവനം തന്നെ അവര് ഈ വിശ്വാസ വഞ്ചനക്കായി ദുരുപയോഗിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.
ദൈവകോപം ചോദിച്ചു വാങ്ങുവാന് ഇവര് ചെയ്ത രണ്ടാമത്തെ പാപം എന്താണെന്നോ? ബലിക്കായി ജനങ്ങള് കൊണ്ടു വന്ന കുഞ്ഞാടുകളുടെ നല്ല ഭാഗങ്ങള് ബലിക്ക് മുമ്പെ ആശാന്മാര് മുറിച്ചു മാറ്റി. ബാക്കി ഉച്ചിഷ്ടം യാഹോവക്ക് ബലിയായി സമര്പ്പിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ ദൈവ ഭവനത്തെ അവര് സേവിക്കേണ്ടതിന് പകരം ദൈവ ഭവനം അവരെ സേവിക്കേണ്ട ഗതി വരുത്തിക്കൂട്ടി.
ദുഷ്ട പുരോഹിതരുടെ മധ്യസ്ഥ പുണ്യവാളന് എന്ന് വേണമെങ്കില് പറയാം മറ്റൊരു പുരോഹിത പ്രമാണിയെ - അതായത് കയ്യഫാസ്. സാന്ഹെദ്രിനില് വച്ചു യേശുവിനെ കുറ്റമാരോപിക്കുകയും പീലാത്തോസിന്റെ മുമ്പില് വച്ചു അവന്റെ രക്തത്തിന് വേണ്ടി മുറവിളി കൂട്ടുകയും ചെയ്ത പ്രമാണി. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയം തന്നെ ദൈവപുത്രന്റെ കൊലപാതകം ആസൂത്രണം ചെയ്യാനായി ഇയാള് ഉപയോഗിച്ചു. എന്തിനേറെ, പുറം ജാതിക്കാരനായ പീലാത്തോസ് പോലും മനസ്സിലാക്കി ഇവര് ചെയ്യുന്നത് അന്യായമാണെന്ന്.
പൌരോഹിത്യത്തിനു വേണ്ടുന്ന മിനിമം യോഗ്യതകള് എന്താണ്? വിശുദ്ധ ജോണ് ക്രിസോസ്ട്ടോം ന്റെ അഭിപ്രായത്തില് അവര്:
- ഹൃദയത്തില് കറയില്ലാത്തവരായിരിക്കണം
- പരസ്ത്രീ വേഴ്ച ചെയ്യാത്തവരായിരിക്കണം
- എല്ലാ കാര്യങ്ങളിലും മിതത്ത്വമുള്ളവനായിരിക്കണം
- പക്വതയോടെ ചിന്തിക്കുന്നവനായിരിക്കണം
- മാനസിക ലാളിത്യമുള്ളവനായിരിക്കണം
- എല്ലായിടത്തും മാന്യതയോടെ പെരുമാരുന്നവനായിരിക്കണം
- അത്യന്തം ആതിഥ്യ മര്യാത പാലിക്കുന്നവനായിരിക്കണം
- അവന് മധ്യപാനിയായിരിക്കരുത്
- സര്വരോടും സൌമ്യനായിരിക്കണം
- അവന് സര്വഥാ എല്ലാ കാര്യങ്ങളിലും നീതിമാനായിരിക്കണം
- ഏഷണികള്ക്ക് വശംവദരാകാത്തവരായിരിക്കണം
- അവന് ഒരിക്കലും ഒരു വഴക്കാളിയായിരിക്കരുത്
- അത്യാഗ്രഹിയും സ്ഥാനമോഹിയും ആയിരിക്കരുത്
അതേസമയം ചൂതുകളി, മദ്യപാനം, തുടങ്ങിയ മാനുഷിക ദൌര്ബല്യങ്ങള് പൊതുജനങ്ങളില് നിന്നും മറച്ചു വച്ചു ജനസേവനം ചെയ്യുന്ന പുരോഹിതരെ കള്ള പുരോഹിതരുടെ ഗണത്തില് പെടുത്തുന്നത് അന്യായമാണ്. കാരണം അവരുടെ തെറ്റുകള് മാനുഷികമാണ്, വെഷം തീണ്ടിയുള്ള അധികാര ദുര്വിനിയോഗമല്ല. എന്നാല് പുരോഹിതവൃത്തിയുടെ മൂല്യങ്ങള്ക്ക് ഘടക വിരുദ്ധമായി പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ച് അന്യായങ്ങളും പാപങ്ങളും ചെയ്യുന്നവരാണ് യഥാര്ത്തത്തില് ചീഞ്ഞു പുഴുത്ത പുരോഹിതര്.
ഉദാഹരണം:
- സ്ഥാനമാനങ്ങള്ക്ക് പിറകെ പരക്കം പായുന്നവര്
- എല്ലാ അധികാരങ്ങളും സ്വന്തം കയ്യിലൊതുക്കി അത് തോന്ന്യാസം കയ്യാളുന്നവര്
- ജനങ്ങള് തങ്ങളിലര്പ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള വിശ്വാസം കൈമുതലാക്കി അവരെ ചൂഷണം ചെയ്യുന്നവര്
- നിരാലംബരായ കുട്ടികളോടും അബലകലായ സ്ത്രീകളോടും അന്യായം ചെയ്യുന്നവര്
- യോഗ്യരെ താഴ്ത്തിക്കെട്ടി അയോഗ്യരെ സമൂഹത്തില് ഉയര്ത്തിക്കാട്ടുവാന് വേണ്ടി തന്റെ സ്ഥാനവും അധികാരവും ദുരുപയോഗപ്പെടുത്തുന്നവര്
- ഒരുവന്റെ അപരാധത്തിന് അപരനെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നവര്
- കുറ്റം ചെയ്തു എന്ന് സംശയമുള്ളവരോട് ക്ഷമയും ദയയും അനുകമ്പയും കാണിക്കാതെ ഹൃദയത്തില് പകയും വൈരാഗ്യവും പേറി നടക്കുന്നവര്
- വിമര്ശനങ്ങളെ സമചിത്തതയോടെ നേരിടുന്നതിനു പകരം വിമര്ശകരോട് പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യുന്നവര്
- അധികാരം ദുര്വിനിയോഗിച്ചു ഭീകര ഭരണം നടത്തി കര്ത്താവിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില് ഭീതി പരത്തുന്നവര്
- തന്റെ മേല്നോട്ടത്തിനായി ഏല്പ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ട കുഞ്ഞാടിന് പറ്റത്തിനിടയില് ഇടര്ച്ചയും പിളര്പ്പും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു അവയെ നോവിക്കുന്നവര്
ഒരപേക്ഷ: നമ്മുടെ പുരോഹിതര് ആരും മേല്പറഞ്ഞ ഗണത്തില് പെട്ടവരാണെന്ന് അബദ്ധ വശാലെങ്കിലും സംശയിച്ചു പോകരുതേ.

This is a story about Kuttappan the Great
He is a Malayali working for a multinational company in Mumbai. Not well educated and he is working as a peon. Whenever Kuttappan hears somebody talk he will come in between saying that I know that very well I know him very well like that. One day Kuttappan's Boss a foreign educated person & a North Indian was talking something about Arnold Schwarzenegger. Kuttappan was passing thru that way, suddenly he came in between saying that oh Arni he ismy best friend.Kuttapan' s boss laughed at him saying that how can u be a friend of Arnold Schwarzenegger you are only a peon living in India . Kuttappan said if u wont believe its your problem I cant help you. Ok.The Manager said I am going on a trip to US next week you come as my assistant and we will go to Arnold 's house and see what happens.Kuttappan agreed with a smile.A week after they landed in US. First they went to NY. Arnold was there in NY. They went to meet Arnold . Seeing Kuttappan Arnold ran towards Kuttappan and hugged him asking that hey Kuttappan long time no see where were you man? Kuttappan went with Arnold to have some coffee.
Boss was stunned. When Kuttappan came back the boss told him that we will go to Clintons place. Let's find out whether u know him or not. Kuttappan agreed with a smile. At Clinton 's home Clinton also did the same as Schwarzenegger asking that where were you my friend for long time? Kuttappan went to have tea with Clinton while the boss was sitting out side the gate
When Kuttappan came back boss said I have to go to Vatican to get blessings from Pope John Paul, so u come with me. At the Vatican crowd from all over the world is waiting to see Pope John Paul. Kuttappan and his boss are also there. Boss asked Kuttappan, do you know Pope John Paul. Kuttappan said y not? Boss told Kuttappan that he will not believe this. Kuttappan askedboss to wait for some time and went inside the crowd. After 15 minutes Kuttappan came on the balcony along with Pope John Paul. Pope John Paul was holding Kuttappan's hand. Kuttappan's boss became unconscious and fell down.When Kuttappan came back his boss was on a stretcher by his side nurses and paramedics. Kuttappan asked Sir what happened.
Then boss told; Kuttappa u know Arnold I believe, u know Clinton I believe and u know Pope John Paul I believe that too but WHEN U CAME WITH POPE AT THE BALCONY THE CROWD WERE ASKING WHO IS HOLDING THE HAND OF KUTTAPPAN after hearing that I became unconscious.

Once Mathai asked Kuttappan, "What is the secret behind your happy married life?"
Kuttappan said, "You should share responsibilities with due love and respect to each other.
Then absolutely there will be no problems."
"Can you explain?" asked Mathai.
Kuttappan said, "In my house, I take decisions on bigger issues where as my wife decides on smaller issues. We do not interfere in each other's decisions."
Still not convinced, Mathai asked Kuttappan "Give me some examples"
Kuttappan said, "Smaller issues like which car we should buy, how much amount to save, when to visit home town, which Sofa, air conditioner, refrigerator to buy, monthly expenses, whether to keep a maid or not etc are decided by my wife. I just agree to it"
Mathai asked, "Then what is your role?"
Kuttappan said, "My decisions are only for very big issues....
Like whether America should attack Iraq, whether Britain should lift sanction over Zimbabwe, whether to widen African economy, whether Sachin Tendulkar should retire etc. Do you know one thing, my wife NEVER objects to any of these".
That is the secret of my happy married life !!!

Any way, my suggesstion is they are also one of us. This is their business.
So, dont look into them as a leader or follow them. ONLY FOLLOW THEIR WORDS, WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE GODS WORDS.. (hope fully they are speaking 100% out of bible, at least during mass)
Our cathedral bullettin is a big joke now...Extremely needed information is not included in the bullettin...The announcement about the new born baby was ridiculous....What happened to fr. antony, he is out of mind. We dont have enough time to intrepret the bible, but have time to entertain these kind of stupids
