You people are a bunch of cowards. How do you bash the church by not leaving your names out for people to see? You really think you can "make a difference" and "get rid of the problem" if you guys routinely bash our leaders and not leave your names out? I was raised in America and I see that all of you are morons for writing in Malayalam and for not using proper English. Let me tell you something ILLITERATE IMMIGRANTS: this church doesn't need people like you. If you have a problem, go to an American church. I understand that many of you don't have jobs and have overweight wives who can't please you so that's probably why you are blaming the church. You guys need to grow up...this is embarrassing to me and the other YOUTH of this church. If you have a problem, come talk to me you cowardly uncles and aunties. -GISSyro Malabar Voice.

I am totally disappointed in the above youth. How can he call his father and mother IGNORANT IMMIGRANTS? How can he call his mother herself, FAT. Or is his mother Miss India? Is this Young man not an ungrateful idiot for insulting the women of this community? This man deserves a suitable dressing-down.

I am disappointed in some of the youth brain washed by religious dogmas and they are not any different from those Alkaida members. I have raised three children in this country none of them use the kind of language I see in this writing. I don't think you are raised by good parents or community with love and respect. You are brainwashed by the Syromalabar Church and its idols

To begin with, SMCC is nothing but a waste of money in this country. We have so many CC's here to take care of all our needs. All my children went to local churches my oldest daughter was married to a Malayalee boy in our local parish. Why are we spending millions of dollars to re invent the wheel again. Is that waht Jesus want from us waste money? to support some priests and bishops?

You know what people? You guys should be the one thinking about what your saying regarding OUR CHURCH. Now you guys know how it feels to be insulted huh? I know I went on a rant because I am a part of the youth, frustrated by the actions of our adults who are insulting innocent people. I apologize if I offended you but people, seriously, this blog isn't helping your case. If you have a problem, talk it out PEACEFULLY. The youth know what is going on and CAN READ AND UNDERSTAND the Malayalam script. I'm pretty sure you adults were frustrated at one point with your parents as young adults. I am sure you all know that the YOUTH will be the ones to run the church when you guys leave. Would you like to see UNNECESSARY DRAMA when we are adults? That being said, PLEASE WATCH WHAT YOU GUYS ARE SAYING. Once again, I apologize if I offended some people and I hope you guys come to your senses. Take care.

And one more thing people, please do not call out/insult people like TONY THEVELAKARA. He is a great young man who has been helping the church at all levels since he was a kid. He has done nothing wrong and has gone about his business, doing what he can for church. Seeing adults insult the youth for no reason is as disheartening for us as when the "deranged youth" insult the adults for their mistakes is as disheartening to you guys. Take care.

St. George Church, Angamaly, has been declared a basilica by Pope Benedict XVI.
A decree to this effect was read out by Cardinal Varkey Vithayathil, Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church, here on Monday.
Angamaly is considered one of the earliest seats of Christianity in India.
Cardinal Vithayathil said that the church had been elevated to the status of a basilica in view of its historical value and importance and the worthiness of its art.
In 1583, the first regional synod was held at Angamaly to correct the ‘errors’ in the liturgical books of the church. -

No need to use harsh language Gis. If you are truly a member of the church you should not go about calling an entire generation "ignorant immigrants".
Of course there may be differences in opinions, that is common in any large community. The personal criticisms for the most part have been regarding people who are in leadership roles . . . when you are in a leadership position that is just something you have to expect, whether the criticism is true or not.
Anyway, the leadership in our church is definitely not blameless. There are the practical issues which no one has yet taken account for . . . probably too late to fix now (ex: how did the design of the new church get approved knowing that the inside of the new church is actually smaller than the old one? how were contracts awarded? some of the workmanship is actually of questionable quality, windows cracking etc.). By selecting pastoral council members who are their favorites, the clerical leadership of the church basically has a rubber stamp. -

There is no point of criticizing gls as he expressed his frustration. The adult of this community(very few though..) behaving wierdly as they got some money (of courese from their RN wives!!) all on a sudden. So they are thinking that they are on the top of the world and hence criticizing the priest, Bishop, pope even Christ too..
Please behave will and be a role models to our kids and youth -
