This is about the plight of Syro Malabar Catholics in Toronto.
I have been a firm supporter of Kerala Catholics. Up until now we have been a united community living in peace and harmony. Recently Chicago Mission has taken over our church with the influence of some self interested and narrow minded criminal elements of our own parish. We used to be "St. Thomas the Appostle Mission. After Chicago's take over, the name has changed to "St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Mission". The community is divided, worshippers are divided and the Leaders are divided over this issue. Chicago Mission was forced up on the Kerala community here due to the narrow mindedness and self interest of our Syro-Malabar Spiritual leaders. Their intention is not to unite but to divide and to cretae more Red Hats in the name of Jesus. Why did not they leave us alone and allow the community to live in peace and harmony? The two culprits for this mess are Bishop Angadiath and Fr. Madathiparambil.
I wish they showed some maturity and spirituality in their approach.
I will have a lot to contribute to this Blog in the future. I will appreciate if you publish this and let our friends know, what our spiritual leaders are doing to divide our community and create havoc, all in the name of God.

Your story is an exact repetition of what happened here in Chicago some years ago. We used to be called, "St. Thomas Catholic Mission." Then they changed it into "Mar Thoma Sleeha Catholic Mission". Then again they changed it into "Syro Malabar Catholic Mission". Then they finally changed it into "St Thomas Syro Malabar Catholic Church", and again after the new church was built it was changed again o " St. Thomas Syro Malabar Cathedral."
We started St. Thomas Catholic Mission about 30 years ago. We had no headaches, everybody lived in peace and harmony. Once the greedy church leaders in Kerala found out what a fertile land North America is, they started planning to exert their authority to subjugate us. Nobody asked them for a diocese or bishop for America. Actually, when we heard the rumor of a diocese and bishop for Chicago, we signed a petition against it. But who cares about our petition! They installed a fool as a bishop with the support of some selfish and self-promoting so-called community leaders. Now we are screwed big time.
Under this bishop the clergy is flourishing. He is importing a lot of loyal priests from Palai diocese, or MST. He is also bringing nuns from Kerala. He is appointing priests even in little towns, with 20-30 Syro Malabar families and putting a priest in charge. In the meantime he is turning the clock back, and going back to the middle ages. He lied to the people of Chicago about his intention to put an ugly red curtain and the clavar cross in the altar of our new church. He is a religious fanatic, who has surrounded himself with priest only from Palai, and he thinks our diocese is part of Palai Diocese. In the meantime the parish priest he has appointed behave arrogantly for their own self interest neglecting the spiritual needs of our people.
It is in this climate that we started this Blog, to expose the misdeeds of our clergy. We are crusaders for truth, plain and simple. We wish all church loving people to support us, and inform what is going on in their churches. We ask you to let the people know about this Blog, so they can be informed as to what is happening in our community. Please let us know what is happening not only in Toronto, but anywhere in Canada, and we will publish it. We understand you are a true Syro Malabarian who loves his church. As such we expect all the help you can give us so that we can be a power for positive change.

So you Guys claim to be a Syro Malabarians and yet do not want Syro Malabar priests? Have u found goodness in any priest or have you exposed any goodness of any Good Clergy here. Please explain who do you need? Do you want to attend mass in rented chapels and do not want to have anything of your own!! I am losing all respect for our church when I learn the true color of our bishop and priests. They are greedy, power hungry people, but they do it in god's name. In fact they don't care about man or god. They only care about themselves. Hypocrites.
Bishop as well as our Cardinal should address concerns of the people.Its time for all NRI to evaluate....!
1. How was the spiritual life before and after Chicago Bishop?
2. Are there any positive sides for the people due to the Chicago Bishop?
3. Did the Wedding and other similar matters become complicated under Chicago Bishop?
4. What is their motive?
5. Other than keep buying and building new churches, what good they do for the people?
6. Are the people more united under this Bishop?
7. Do they (Bishop and authorities) ever address the concerns of the people?
8. Did they support any one to migrate to USA/ Canada and obtain education and jobs?
9. Do they give any consideration to NRI’s who has supported to build colleges and hospitals?
I don’t want to make it longer, if there is no good .. because they are here, then why not they live us alone and help us to live with peace, happiness and respect to the church. The more they try to take advantage more people will get to know them better and will destroy church’s credibility.
The bishop is an ant-catholic! The Bishop and his fellow guys (Thundathil, Kaduppil, Madathiparamaban) in the Bishop house are dishonest and spreading their satanic messages only. They cannot prevail for ever. The Syro Malabar diocese has already filled with money hungry bugs and the bishops is their leader. The bishop lost all his values as a shepherd and he could bring only division to the community. After his inception as the bishop, somehow he succeeded in splitting the faithful after the new cathedral. His satanic message is cleared in the ALTAR. He is not for the common good of the Catholic Church.
Our centuries old faith traditions and loyalty to the Catholic Church is in danger with the bishop Anagandy as the shepherd of Syro Malabr Chicago Diocese in USA. He needs to be excommunicated from the Catholic Church.

WE are without a real shepherd in USA. Please recall the Chicago Syro Malabar Catholic Bishop and restore the faithful back to their Syro Malabar catholic homes. Our current Bishop is biased and proven to be disobedient. His whole crews in USA are` not for the common good of the church. They are really spoiling our culture and the faith seed. Please order an independent inquiry to assess the situation that prompted Bishop Anagadiath in secrete to install the purple VEIL, the Circular Ring and a big Claver cross in the holy place of the peoples worship house.

Please don't sign any papers for the church people. They will ask you to sign huge pledge amounts for building new churchs. It has fine prints in it to cheat you. They will ask you post dated checks. Once they have your money they won't listen to you at all. They will treat you like a slave. All they want is more and more money from you. Please don't sign any papers with them. Find a way to maintain a church at the lowest cost with lowest obligation for you.

Extending our helps to Haiti people is an important obligation of every faithful in USA. Let us be very generous through our charitable contribution through registered charitable organizations only. Participate through RED CROSS, Salvation Army or through one of the Catholic Diocese fundraising for Haiti Relief Effort in your area. Prefer to donate through the local Latin parishes in your area then only it will reach the needy.

I live in Baltimore. I learned about the Syromalabar Voice few months ago. I think voice is doing a great job by providing information about the dangerous church people and their selfish acts all over US and Canada. We in baltimore are now better informed. We are the proud kids of our God fearing parents and members of our Syro Malabar church that is like our own home. However the Syro Malabar church in Chicago diocese under the current leader ship is a shame to all. The current leadership is in not in ally with the global catholic and in communion with Indian USA_Catholic in general.
After witnessing their behaviors as priests and bishop in USA, I lost the trust and credibility on them as our good shepherds. They are really parasites of the SMC community. The bishop cheated all of us. The proof is the cathedral church itself. The emotional stress of congregation while in the 9 million Dollars cathedral is really heart braking. The useless bishop converted our 9 million into a circus tent for den of thieves.
They are really spoiling us with cost of believers and mercy of Latin Church in USA and the US Governments liberal federal tax exemptions.
Community awareness to cleanse the ailing Syro Malabar presence in USA is the talk of all Syro Malabar Catholics.

Yes six more new bishops SMC. Fight is on to have bishops in Delhi Banglore and in many more places. SMC priest appears to have only one goal to have more bishops for themselves. SMC can even work as priests or bishops in latin rite diocese yet they will never forget to charge discrimination by latin rite diocese.

What I don't understand, why well educated people fall for mythical and false teachings by self appointed so called religious leaders? Foundation of all religions are lies created by man. I challenge all Catholics read the bible and show me one place there, Jesus asked any one to form a church for him. Jesus was born, lived and died as a Jew. Jesus fallowed the Jewish religion all his life. He did not say " Peter you are the rock and I will built my church" This sentence in the gospel is forgery by those who rewrote all gospels to include in the Cannon laws. Even if Jesus said this rock stuff, he would have never used the term church, because at the time of Jesus there was no church there was only Temples and Synagogues. Jesus would have said Peter you are the rock and I will build my Temple, Synagogue or Fathers Home on you.

Church leaders and bishops at that time were bribed with money and special status in the community, by Constantine in order to go along with his ideas. The first synod the in Niece was called by Constantine in order to find an end to the dispute between Eastern and Roman churches. All the rituals and creed we see in the church today existed before Christ in the pagan religion. All these expensive robs wore by Bishops and priests, golden chalice, thrones, feasts, processions with idols all are taken from pagan worships, including the idea of eating flesh and drinking blood of God.
I recommend to all my brothers please read bible carefully. What Catholic church want from us believe in the church and fallow the church not God. We can not invite God in to a church or any building we need to go to His home that home is open to all. Jesus did talk about Fathers home in several places. Salvation is a gift from God we can only earn that by fallowing the first and the second law given to us love your God and love your fellow human being as you love yourself. Priests are telling you that your salvation is based upon all the sacraments and fallowing all the teachings of the church. Before Jesus departed from us he did warn us about these false teachers. Syrian Catholics are those forms parts of Travancore. The Pseudo-Portugese Blooded Thrissur-Kochi Latinizers Feels they are better off with Latin Rite. Moreover, in parur,kodungallur,chavakkad etc latin catholics claims they are syrians and there are same families in both rites. it shows how hollow is these latinizers claim of being genuine syrian christians and syro malabarians aka Syrian Catholics.
I wonder Why do We Syrian Catholics of Travancore Suffer under Latin Rite Supporters. it is High time thrissur-kochi faction move off from Syrian Catholic Rite. They are Not Genuine. They were the Pork Eaters, They were those Who have no issue in keeping Suriyani Traditions. I am sorry of Changanassery Arch Diocese. They are the Pioneer in Syrian Catholic Tradition but these Paranki Catholics in Syro Malabar is making it tough for Syrian Catholic Rite. These people of thrissur and kochi may not be genuine syrian christians. many doubts exists. We SYRIAN CATHOLICS ARE REALLY CLOSER TO OUR PEOPLE - Syrian Christian Churches Jacobite/Orthodox and Malankara rite. We Need a Split pushing off Latinizers to form a new rite.

I, myself a psychologist, was studying and trying to find out the reason for some guy's hatreds toward the Health Care People which reflect through Blogs. The reason is pure jealous; either they have tried so hard to get a health care degree or dip. and failed or could not even get admission. Leave them alone, for they work hard and beside God. So caution! not to hurt them, or your generations will suffer for that sin.

How could you start blaming and pointing finger; have you realized how many fingers points back to you?Put your concerns, hatred, hostility, anger and discontent in prayers. Come down on your knees and live the hope that your voice shall be heard. By being positive, you gravitate positive. By being negative, you gravitate illness, discomfort, discord, and unhappiness.Your spirit gets effected, too.
In the Spirit of Lent, may you be released from the bondage of anything and everything that is not of Jesus Christ. May you speak His Words with love, compassion and understanding. May the Holy Spirit empower you and your loved ones,your friends and your church with the faith that you profess to believe- in Jesus' name.

i love my church. When I hear that you are calling our bishops and priests Satan and hypocrites, I remember that Jesus was also accused of the same. And he did not say anything. In this way I see our priests and bishops as a true reflection of Jesus because they all know what you write. They all know that you talk behind their backs. But even then, they don't say anything. പ്രകൃതി ദുരന്തങ്ങള് വരുമ്പോള് ജനങ്ങള് പ്രമേയം പാസ്സാക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടോ, കൊടുങ്കാറ്റിനെ അല്ലെങ്കില് പേമാരിയെ ഞങ്ങള് തിരസ്ക്കരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നത് കൊണ്ടോ ദുരന്തത്തിന് ഒരു ശമനവും ഉണ്ടാകാറില്ല. പിതാവിന്റെ ഡിസംബര് ഇരുപതാം തിയതിയിലെ സര്ക്കുലര് (അതിനെ ഇടയലേഖനം എന്ന് വിളിക്കാമോ എന്ന് തീര്ച്ചയില്ല) തിരസ്ക്കരിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് പല അല്മായസംഘടനകളും പള്ളിപൊതുയോഗങ്ങളും പ്രമേയം പാസ്സാക്കി. അതില് ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഭാഷ കണ്ട് സത്യത്തില് മൂക്കത്ത് വിരല് വച്ചുപോയി! കര്ത്താവേ, ഒരു രൂപതാധ്യക്ഷനോടാണോ ഈ മഹാപാപികള് ഇങ്ങനെയൊക്കെ പറയുന്നത്! കലികാലം.
സംശയം ഇതാണ് – കത്തോലിക്കാസഭയില് ഇത്തരത്തിലൊന്ന് സാധാരണ ഗതിയില് ഉണ്ടാകാറില്ല. തീര്ച്ചയായും ഇങ്ങനെ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത്, വിരമിക്കാറായ വേളയില് പിതാവിന് ഭൂഷണമല്ല. അതൊക്കെ വേറെ കാര്യം. അറിയേണ്ടതിത് മാത്രമാണ്. ഇത്തരം ജനവികാരത്തെ പിതാവ് ചുമ്മാ അങ്ങ് "പോടാ പുല്ലേ" എന്ന മട്ടില് അവഗണിക്കുമോ, അതോ ഇക്കാര്യത്തില് എന്തെങ്കിലും പുനഃപരിശോധന ഉണ്ടാകുമോ? ഞങ്ങളില് പലര്ക്കും അറിയാന് ആകാംക്ഷ കണ്ടമാനം ഉണ്ടേ..

അങ്ങാടിയത്ത് പിതാവിനെ ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് വിശ്വാസമാ. ഒന്നുമില്ലെങ്കിലും, രാവിലെ പറയുന്നത് തന്നെ വൈകുന്നേരവും പറയുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ. മറ്റു പലരും അങ്ങിനെയൊന്നുമല്ല.
ഞങ്ങളുടെ സമുദായത്തില് ആകപ്പാടെ ഒരു ഭൂമികുലുക്കം ഉണ്ടായിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണല്ലോ. അതിന്റെ പര്യവസാനം എങ്ങിനെ ആയിരിക്കുമെന്ന് ഇപ്പോഴേ മുന്കൂട്ടി പറയാന് സാധിക്കുകയില്ല എന്ന് സമ്മതിക്കുന്നു. എന്നാലും ഒരു കാര്യം വ്യക്തമാണ്. സമുദായത്തിലെ മാറിക്കെട്ടിയവരുടെ ഭാര്യയും മക്കളും, പിതാവിന്റെ സര്ക്കുലര് അനുസരിച്ച്, ക്നാനായ പള്ളിയിലെ അംഗങ്ങള് ആയിരിക്കും. അങ്ങിനെയല്ല എന്ന് ഞങ്ങളോട് ഓരോരുത്തര് പറയുന്നത്, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലെ മരമണ്ടാന്മാര് പോലും വിശ്വസിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. അതൊക്കെ വിശുദ്ധ നുണകള്. എള്ളോളമില്ല പൊളിവചനം എന്ന അവസ്ഥ മാവേലിയുടെ കാലത്തല്ലായിരുന്നോ! “കളിയായിപോലും നുണ പറയരുത്” എന്ന് എന്റെ അമ്മ ചെറുപ്പത്തില് എന്നെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു. പാവം അമ്മ, അമ്മ സെമിനാരിയില് പഠിച്ചിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ.
പിതാവിന്റെ രൂപതയില് പിതാവിന്റെ കല്പ്പന നടപ്പിലായാല്, വെളിയില് നിന്നും മാറികെട്ടിയ ഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന് അവന്റെ കുടുംബത്തോടൊപ്പം ഞങ്ങളുടെ പള്ളിയില് അംഗമായിരിക്കും. അതൊക്കെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം.
സംശയം ഇതാണ്.
ആ സഹോദരന് പെട്ടെന്ന് – അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കാതെ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ദൈവം പരിപാലിക്കട്ടെ! – മരിച്ചാല്, അവന്റെ ശവമടക്ക് കഴിയുമ്പോള്, വികാരിയച്ചന് അവന്റെ ഭാര്യക്കും മക്കള്ക്കും ടാറ്റ കൊടുത്തു പറഞ്ഞുവിടുമോ? അപ്പന്റെ മരണത്തോടെ ജീവിതത്തില് അനാഥരായ ആ കുട്ടികള് ഇടവകയില്ലാതെ ആത്മീയമായും അനാഥരാകില്ലെ?
ഞങ്ങളുടെ കുടുംബനാഥന് മരിച്ചു പോയതുകൊണ്ട് ഞങ്ങളെ ഇടവകയില് നിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കി എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു മറ്റൊരു ഇടവകയില് ചെന്നാല് അതിന്റെ ലോജിക് ആ ഇടവകയിലെ അച്ചന് മനസിലായില്ലെങ്കില് ആ പിഞ്ചുകുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളും ആ വിധവയും ഇടവകയില്ലാതെ അലയുകയില്ലേ? ഓര്ക്കാനേ പറ്റുന്നില്ല.
പിതാവേ, സംശയങ്ങള് ഇനിയും ഒരു പാടുണ്ട്. മറുപടി ഉണ്ടാവുകയില്ലെങ്കില് എന്തിനാണ് എല്ലാം കൂടി എഴുതുന്നത്. ഇതിന്റെ ഫലമെന്താണെന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ബാക്കി സംശയങ്ങള് എഴുതാം.

The blogger has exposed his lack of knowledge & understanding of the situation! The church in Toronto has always been managed by Syro-Malabar priests since majority of parishioners (about 99%) belong to the same rite! Besides Malankara Catholics have always had a separate church for worship. The name change does not affect our basic belief nor does it challenge our theology and believe me, I belong to this parish and certainly the community is not divided on this non-issue. The blogger has exaggerated his claims without any foundation and out of pure malice. Our catholic church is not only a church of authority but also there has always been a hierarchy in place for better administration of pastoral care. Therefore, the closest diocese is Chicago diocese from where pastoral care and direction is extended which is welcome and we should be thankful about it instead of finding fault with it! If 30 - 40 families can have a priest ministering to them then nothing like it.Praise be to God!
I wish the blogger showed some maturity and spirituality in his approach as he wanted others to have!
As parish grows what with an immense number of immigrants coming in to Canada every day the need to put in place a system meaning checks and balances is of paramount importance. We must learn to obedient and humble by which alone holiness can dwell assuring an everlasting place in the presence of triune God is our ultimate goal.
Therefore, we need to pray for our clergy, our parishioners and above all for ourselves which is the crying need of the hour! Infighting and disobedience to authority do not come from God.Freedom of speech does not mean writing crap as the blogger has done! Let us learn civility,humility, generosity and charity and all the other Christian virtues first and whatever change we desire will come about according to His holy will in his own good time for sure.
