It is time or all the Syro Malabar parishes/missions in USA to rethink about the way parish business is conduting.Coppel is a model which shows that people voices are heard atleast for the time being.
Eastern Cannon law is not different than Latin cannon Law in church affairs.While proclaiming the 'PARAMBARIYAM" the syro malabar folks convenientley forgets about the tradition of ancient kerala church where parish meeting decided every thing about the church including who will be the priest.This tradition is still followed by many of the eastern churches except our syro malabar church because of the fear of lose of power- the power makes the authorities blind.

Haven't you seen the drama of General Body minutes being changed with the help of Diocese?
This group's main intention was to get Fr. Saji Sent away or punished for standing against them trying to control the church.
We are mad at what is happening, especially the way Bishop trying to impose something which vast majority opposes.
95% of Coppel church members want to see only crucifix in the altar and don't want curtain.
Only 5% really want the other cross or curtain.
20% of this 95% majority don't want to offend Bishop, that is why they are not saying anything about this.
The main question/concern about this issue has never been answered by Bishop or any higher ups from Diocees.
Why this Claver Kurishu has to be in the altar?, How can it be placed alongside the crucifix and worshiped?

Chicago SMC is the worst; it is like a political party office without any clean agenda. The Bishop, Vicar General and chancellor divided the Chicago community for their own benefit. The Pothuyogam minutes must be corrected to include the fact that only crucified cross is allowed. The pagan cross(so called Mar Thoma cross and claver cross)and sheela are not allowed to replace the crucified cross. If these minutes are not included in the minutes we have nothing in writing of our pothuyogam decision and the bishop will use it as a fact to impliment his satanic cross and dirty sheela in the church at a later date.
