Knanaya Parish at Morton Grove looks very different from Chicago Cathedral in many different ways. One of them is there is only one cross in the alter. Yes, there is Marthoma Kurishu in the top, but that is not in the alter. It also looks very beautiful with the handcrafts and design. Though they have sheela, it doesnt look anything like the Koodaram.
No one believe the alter budget was only 50K for them.
I dont mind having a viri, but I dont like the one we have in Cathedral. But the only in Morton Grove look elegant and dont stick out like the one Cathedral

I am a member of Orange county church where Fr.Kattackal is the pastor. I can tell you that Fr. Kattackal has been here for the last 10 years and the parishioners need a change. Even though very well educated, Fr. Kattackal has been a big failure as a vicar. He is very unorganized,egocentric and self serving. The bishop knows this and has requested Fr. Kattackal to retire three or four times in the past. Fr. Kattackal is 80 plus years old and very ineffective right now .He was offered retirement benefits like any other priest. Fr. Kattackal has bought acres of land in Palai. So, Fr. Kattackal is not in bad shape.He needs to "obey" the bishop this time..

After Chicago's take over, the name has changed to "St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Mission". The community is divided, worshippers are divided and the Leaders are divided over this issue. Chicago Mission was forced up on the Kerala community here due to the narrow mindedness and self interest of our Syro-Malabar Spiritual leaders. Their intention is not to unite but to divide and to cretae more Red Hats in the name of Jesus. Why did not they leave us alone and allow the community to live in peace and harmony? The two culprits for this mess are Bishop Angadiath and Fr. Madathiparambil.
I wish they showed some maturity and spirituality in their approach.

Syro diocese doesn't want the problems resolved. They want to sell Coppell church. Then take that money and pay off his sweet child Garland church.
Coppell church has over 60,000 in bank. Give $1 each week until all that money is spent on mortgage. Then pay only enough money to cover mortgage and utility bills. Ha ha ha.. utility bills!!!!
Though $20,000 of that money is Fr. Xavier Khan's, bishop is refusing to pay Fr.Xavier. Bishop is refusing to pay Fr.Saji the salary that should have been paid more than three months ago.

Please bring the new PARKING + GROTTO conspiracy to people's attention. The new Parking Lot and Grotto seem to be a VERY secret agenda in Syro Malabar
In Chicago we spend more than 10 Million for the church, 2.2 Million for Bishop House and a Lousy office place for 850K. A Total of 13Million + in a very distressed place. Clearly this was to put some names in the church wall. Who will spend 10 Mil+ in a place like HELLWOOD. We could have purchased a beautiful church somewhere in DesPlaines or other secured place.
I bet if Voice was raising the voice that time, many mistakes could have been avoided during these 13 Million extravaganza . Anyway, past is past and all we could do is .. look into future.
The NEW Parking Lot –
What’s Church Plan on doing these?
What’s the Budget?
How much parking is going to be introduced?
Where the Grotto is is going to be built?
How the Grotto will look like?
Will there be a Mani Cross on the Grotto too?
What’s the architecture diagram for the new Grotto?
What will be Bishop’s new acts on the Grotto? (The recent things in the Coppel
Church bring down all respect to the Bishop and I feel like it’s a Ghost House
rather than a Bishop House)
Without the above questions answered, how would people can contribute to the above project?
The parish trustees and some other parish council members doing another irresponsible act as usual they do with other public affairs. The problem we have among malayalees is we take everything for Freaking Granted. The act like this Yeah.. The Grotto Plan and Parking Plan is approved in Pastoral Council Meeting. So the Public Donkeys does not need to know anything about it. JUST Pay the $$$ and co-operate with the church.
Frankly, my case is I am very reluctant to say No to Church Things. This could be the same scenario with many other people too.
I HOPE SYRO MALABAR VOICE will take a strong interest in this and bring this issue into the RED RADAR. That way atleast this will be handled with some responsibility
Why do you public donkeys think you have to donte (or even support) the grotto business?
Why can't you just keep your wallt closed? If you must spend, then give help to the REAL charitable organizations that are feeding the hungry, colthing the naked, building homes and hopes for the homeless.
Get involved in REAL charitable organizations. Spend some time reading what they do. Spend some time talking to them on the phone. Spend some time working alone side them. Then you will understand the meaning of "Go in peace to love and serve the Lord".

Bishop is right atleast in this matter. He even offered accomodation to DrDr in Chicago.
