ചിക്കാഗോ സീറോ മലബാര്‍ 11 മില്ല്യന്‍ പള്ളിയില്‍ വെള്ളം പൊങ്ങിയതിനാല്‍ ഈ ഞായറാഴ്ചയിലെ കുര്‍ബാനകള്‍, ഇപ്പോള്‍ പാരിഷ് ഹാള്‍ ആയി തരം താഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന പഴയ പള്ളിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. കര്‍ട്ടനും ക്ലാവര്‍ കുരിശും പ്രതിഷ്ടി ക്കാതെയാണ് കര്ബാനകള്‍ നടക്കുന്നത്.
ഈ പ്രദേശത്തെ ഏറ്റവും ആഴം കൂടിയ basement ആണ് നമ്മുടെ പള്ളിയിലെത്. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഒരു retainer pond പോലെ ഈ പ്രദേശത്തെ വെള്ളം മുഴുവന്‍ നമ്മുടെ basement ലേക്ക് ഒഴുക്കുന്നത് സ്വാഭാവികം മാത്രം. രണ്ട് വലിയ sump pump കളാണ് ഇപ്പോള്‍ basement ല്‍ നിന്നും വെള്ളം നിരന്തരം അടിച്ചു മാറ്റി ക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. എന്നിട്ടും ഒഴുക്ക് നിലയ്ക്കുന്നില്ല. പള്ളിയുടെ പാര്‍ക്കിംഗ് ലോട്ട് മുഴുവന്‍ ചപ്പു ചവറുകള്‍ കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുകയാണ്. തെക്കുഭാഗത്തുള്ള കാലിസ്ഥലം ഒരു തടാകം പോലെ വെള്ളം കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത്‌ മലവെള്ളം കാണാത്ത നമ്മുടെ യൂത്തുകള്‍ക്ക് കൌതുകമായി. basemnt ല്‍ 7 അടിയോളം പൊക്കത്തില്‍ വെള്ളം പൊങ്ങിയിരുന്നു. നാല് പമ്പുകള്‍ നിരന്തരം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചാണ് ലെവല്‍ താഴേക്കു കുറച്ചെങ്കിലും കൊണ്ടുവരാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞത്. ഇതിനിടക്ക്‌ പള്ളയില്‍ സന്ദര്‍ശകനായിവന്ന ഒരു ഫാ. ടോമിന് ഒരു പറ്റു പറ്റി. കരമ്പരുടെ കെട്ടുവെള്ളം പോലുള്ള കാറുകള്‍ വെള്ളം നിറഞ്ഞു കവിഞ്ഞ റോഡില്‍ കൂടി പാഞ്ഞു പോകുന്നതു കണ്ട ധൈര്യത്തിന് അദ്ദേഹം തന്‍റെ കൊറോളയില്‍ ചാടിക്കയറി. റോഡിലേക്കിറങ്ങിയതെ കാറ് വെള്ളത്തില്‍ മുങ്ങി ഒഴുകിപ്പോകാന്‍ തുടങ്ങി. കാറ് നിന്നു പോയി. എന്തോ ഭാഗ്യത്തിന് ആശാന്‍ കാറിന്റെ ചില്ല് താഴ്ത്തി വെള്ളത്തിലേക്ക് ചാടി മുങ്ങാംകുഴിയിട്ടു. ഉടുപ്പും തലയില്‍ കെട്ടി പള്ളി മേടയിലേക്ക് കയറിവന്ന ഫാ. ടോമിനെ കണ്ടു ഫാ ആന്റണി അന്തം വിട്ടു നിന്നു പോയി!
ഈ കെടുതിയുടെ സമയത്ത് പോലും പൊതു ജനങ്ങളെ തെറ്റിദ്ധരിപ്പിക്കുവാന്‍ അധികാരികള്‍ മറന്നില്ല. ഭക്തജനങ്ങളുടെ അറിവിലേക്കായി വലിയ പള്ളിയുടെ വാതിലുകളില്‍ ഒട്ടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നോട്ടീസ് ശ്രദ്ധേയമാണ്. "Due to power failure today's services will be conducted in the parish hall." പൊതുജനങ്ങളോട് യഥാര്‍ത്ഥ സത്യം തുറന്ന് പറയാന്‍ നമ്മുടെ അധികാരികള്‍ എന്തുകൊണ്ട് മടിക്കുന്നു? എന്തുകൊണ്ട് സത്യം ജനങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നും മറച്ചു വിഡ്ഢികളാകാന്‍ ഇവര്‍ തയ്യാറാകുന്നു എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാകുന്നില്ല. ജന്മന തരികടകളും വളച്ചു കെട്ടു പറയുന്നവരുമാണോ നമ്മുടെ സഭാധികാരികള്‍?
കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ ഇവിടങ്ങളില്‍ ശക്തിയായ മഴയായിരുന്നു എന്ന സത്യം വായനക്കാരില്‍ നിന്നും ഞങ്ങള്‍ മറച്ചു വക്കുന്നില്ല. പലരുടെ വീടുകളിലും വെള്ളം കയറിയതായി ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കറിയാം. പക്ഷെ ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു പള്ളിയില്‍ വെള്ളം കയറിയതായി അറിവില്ല. ഇത് പള്ളിയുടെ നിര്‍മ്മാണത്തിലെ തന്നെ പാകപ്പിഴകളി ലേക്കാണ് വിരല്‍ ചൂണ്ടുന്നത്. സ്വന്തം വീട്ടിലെ ലൈറ്റ് ബള്‍ബ്‌ മാറാന്‍ electrician നെ വിളിക്കുന്ന കുശവന്മാര്‍ 6 മില്ലിയന്റെ പള്ളി പണിയാന്‍ ഇറങ്ങിത്തിരിച്ചാല്‍ അതു ചെന്ന് നില്‍ക്കുന്നത് 11 മില്ല്യനിലും പെരു വെള്ളത്തിലുമേ ആയിരിക്കൂ എന്ന് ഏത് വിഡ്ഢിക്കാണ് മനസ്സിലാകാത്തത്?
എന്നാല്‍ ചിക്കാഗോ സീറോ മലബാറുകാര്‍ മലവെള്ളത്തില്‍ മുങ്ങിത്താഴുമ്പോള്‍ അവരുടെ ഇടയനും പരിവാരങ്ങളും ടെക്സാസില്‍ തിരുമേനിയും തമ്പുരാനും കളിച്ചു നടക്കുകയാണ്. ദാല്ലസ് , ഹ്യൂസ്റ്റന് , സാന്‍ ആന്റോനിയോ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്‍ കണ്‍ വെന്ഷന്‍ , പള്ളി വെഞ്ചരിപ്പു എന്നിവയുടെ മറയില്‍ മുങ്ങി നടക്കുകയാണ് അവര്‍. ചിക്കാഗോയിലെ പള്ളിയില്‍ വെള്ളം കയറിയതിനെപ്പറ്റി ആരാഞ്ഞ ഒരു ഹ്യൂസ്റ്റന് കാരനോട് കടുപ്പന്‍ കുട്ടപ്പന്‍ പറഞ്ഞ ഉത്തരം സീറോ മലബാര്‍ സഭാധികാരികളുടെ ഒന്നടങ്കം മൈന്‍ഡ് സെറ്റ് ആണ് തെളിയിച്ചു കാട്ടുന്നത്. "വെള്ളം കയറിയത് കൊണ്ടു പ്രശ്നമൊന്നുമില്ല. ചിലവാകുന്നതിലും കൂടുതല്‍ തുക നമുക്ക് ഇന്‍ഷുറന്‍സ് ല്‍ നിന്നും കിട്ടും" ഇതാണ് കടുപ്പന്‍ അയാള്‍ക്ക്‌ വളരെ ലാഘവമായി കൊടുത്ത ഉത്തരം. വീട് കത്തിപ്പോയി എന്നറിഞ്ഞ ഗ്രഹനാഥന്‍ , സ്വന്തം ഭാര്യയെയോ, കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ പറ്റിയോ ചിന്തിക്കാതെ, ഇന്‍ഷുറന്‍സ് തുകയെപ്പറ്റി ചോദിച്ചാല്‍ തീ കൊളുത്തിയത്തിനു പോലീസ് അയാളെ സംശയിചെന്നു വരാം. പക്ഷെ എന്തു ചെയ്യാം! സ്വന്തം കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെ വെറും ഡിന്നര്‍, അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ വയറ്റില്‍പ്പിഴപ്പു മാത്രം ആയി മാത്രം കാണുന്ന ഇടയന്മാരാണ്‌ നമുക്കുള്ളത്. അതെ, നമ്മള്‍ ഇടയന്മാരുടെ സൂപ്പും ബിരിയാണിയും മാത്രമാകാനുള്ള ബലിയാടുകള്‍ മാത്രം!
ഇതിനിടക്ക്‌ നമ്മുടെ കോപ്പെലിലെ സഹോദരന്മാര്‍ നമ്മുടെ അച്ഛന്മാരെപ്പോലെയാണ് ഈ ദുരന്തത്തെ പറ്റി സംസാരിക്കുന്നത്. അതായത്, ഇതൊരു ശാപമാണ്. ബിഷപ്പും തന്‍റെ സില്‍ബന്ധികളും കൂടി ഒരു നിരപരാധിയെ കുരിശില്‍ തറച്ചതിന് ശിക്ഷയായി ദൈവം വരുത്തിയ പേമാരി. പക്ഷെ ഒരു കാര്യം ഞങ്ങള്‍ തുറന്ന് പറയുന്നു. അങ്ങാടിയത്തിന് ശനി ദശയാണ്‌. നാനാദിക്കിലും ക്രൂശിത രൂപം തല നിവര്‍ത്തി നില്‍ക്കുന്ന ദേവാലയങ്ങള്‍ നാണം കെട്ടു പോയി കൂദാശ ചെയ്തു കൊടുക്കേണ്ട ഗതികേട് ഒരു വശത്ത്‌. തല പെയിന്റ് അടിച്ചു ശ്രീ കൃഷ്ണന്‍ ചമഞ്ഞ് നടക്കുന്ന ഒരു ചാന്‍സലര്‍. പൈസക്ക് വേണ്ടി തെരുവിലിറങ്ങേണ്ട ഗതികേട് വന്നിരിക്കുന്ന വിനോദിനി. തന്നെ പോടാ അങ്ങാടി എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു ആട്ടിയോടിക്കുന്ന ഫാ. കട്ടക്കല്‍ എന്ന തലവേദന. താമരക്കുരിശിനെ താലോലിക്കാന്‍ കൂട്ടാക്കാത്ത കുഞ്ഞാടുകള്‍. കൂനിന്മേല്‍ കുരു എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞപോലെ ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഇതാ, കഷ്ട കാലത്തൊരു വെള്ളപ്പോക്കം! രണ്ട് ദിവിസം സ്വൈര്യമായി വിലസാന്‍ പോലും തലേവരയില്ലാത്ത ഗതി! ഇത് ശനി ദശയല്ലെങ്കില്‍ പിന്നെ എന്താണ്?
മലവെള്ളത്തിനിടക്ക് ഞങ്ങള്‍ വാഴക്കുല വെട്ടുകയാണെന്നു പറയരുതേ. പുതിയ പള്ളിയില്‍ മഴ വെള്ളമായിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ പഴയ പള്ളിയില്‍ ദൈവ സാന്നിധ്യമാണ് തളം കെട്ടി നിന്നത്. വളരെ സമാധാനപരമായ ഒരന്തരീക്ഷമായിരുന്നു ഇന്ന് . ഇതുപോലുള്ള സമാധാനം പഴയ പള്ളിയില്‍ നിന്നും ഈയുള്ളവന് എന്നും ലഭ്യമാണെങ്കില്‍ പുതിയ പള്ളിയില്‍ എന്നും മലവെള്ളമായിക്കോട്ടേ. വിരോധമില്ല. ഒട്ടേറെ ഭക്ത ജനങ്ങളും ഇതിനോട് യോജിക്കും എന്നുറപ്പാണ്.

As per the Syro Malabar Catholic Synod and Curia, this so called St. Thomas or Thaamara or Manikyan or Claver cross can not be installed in any church alter, if one member says he do not want it in the alter.
This is written in the Syro Malabar Synod procedures and Rules and Regulations Manuel.
So know your rights as Syro Malabar Catholic, if you think your faith is questioned by any Bishop or priests by them installing this Claver cross, you have the right to say no to these imposers.

This Fr.Mathew Panthalani is a dangerous beggar. Years ago, before Kandatthikkudi he was the pastor of our church in Chicago. At that time he installed clavar cross without any one knowing. We took it down within 24 hours. He has no business in the US syro Malabar church. Along with Angadiyath he is the only priest fighting for clavar. Fr. Joji and that wild-looking priest from Arizhona come next. Apart from these four, no other syro-malabar priest here in the USA cares for the clavar.That is the truth. So lets work hard to defeat these anti-church, anti-catholic clerical garbage.

We all think the bible readings in all churches under one Diocese are the same all through the year.
But why is Coppell church readings are all about curses and threat meaning parts from the Bible.
And finally why priests are using the homily to scare people by going off the mark talking about things which have no connections to that day's Bible readings?

Answer:
Syro Malabar Chicago has more than 1100 Families.
Among them around 350-500 Familes are highly God Fearing and they will not object whatever Bishop does.
So the 500 Families - Pay an average of $600 per year which is $300K + 100K from other 600 Familes + Other income by renting the place (150K) + Xmas Carole 75K - Total of 625K per year - the church will run smoothly without any problem for years and years and years.
I think it's time to rethink about our current actions. It's time to help the Poor People rather than flushing out our money for all this immoral luxuries including the new Chicago parking lot. I am afraid to talk about Grotto (But this could have been buit inside the church). This is another selfish action where some people want to etertain their legacy.
May God Give me the Power to
1. Speaking Against the wrong-doing of church.
2. Helping the Poor rather than spending on unnecessary luxuries.

Therefore Mar Thoma Cross not worthy to be venerated in Catholic Church Altar.
What I think is parking lot is a must for a big church like this. We should have had 2 small churches like Chicago Knanaya Catholics have. We spent all money in one big Church which has not enough parking space. Or we can have one session of sunday school with saturday evening mass. That will bring down the crowd on every sundays. I know saturday mass is considered as saturday mass not sunday's. Think about what Jesus did he did his all activities ( Miracles") on " Sabeth day". Rules and religians are for the betterment of people not for giving them difficulties
