- When I read the article, ‘Magnificent Cathedral On a Shaky Foundation’, I was reminded of what Jesus said to those who had made a market place out of the Jerusalem Temple. He made a whip and chased out all the merchants and coin-changers and those who were selling pigeons and doves and various types of animals used for sacrifice. These merchants had a hidden agenda that had nothing to do with the purpose for which the temple existed which was for the worship of the living God. Today, a very similar thing is happening in the American Syro-Malabar Church. The Syro-Malabar hierarchy also has a hidden agenda. However, their hidden agenda is not to sell pigeons and animals but to sell the paraphernalia connected with the Persian Cross. The latest gadget they have added to their product line is the Syro-Malabar Light which when turned on will display a magic light. It is anybody’s guess what this magic light will reveal – what else other than the Mar Thoma Cross!! This light has made its debut in the Garland Church Parish Hall which I am sure they are using as a ploy to remove the Crucifix which the parishioners have installed only a few years ago and which Fr. Joji has vowed to remove without even consulting the parishioners.
- The Church authorities have absolutely no concern for the feelings of the parishioners or the fact that there is no love for one another among the parishioners without which according to Paul, we Christians are “nothing but a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal” (1 Cor. 13:1). They have also no regard for Truth or honesty. As Rev. Fr. Varghese did in Coppell Church last Sunday, the Syro-Malabar Church priests will preach for hours about honesty and integrity. But two days after that they will do just the opposite of what they preach as Rev. Fr. Varghese did a few Sundays ago when he promised that he will not take any action against any of the Parish Council members only to dock one of the most honest among them. This action in spite of him not taking any action against those who participated in conspiring to change the minutes of official Church meetings and tampering with the audited reports of the church. The parishioners of the Coppell church will never forget His Excellency Mar Jacob promising to the parishioners that he would not take any action against Fr. Sajy only to fire him and deport him within a matter of just a few days after that. They have decided that all what matters is to increase the count on the Mar Thoma Crosses displayed within their Syro-Malabar Churches.
- Little do they realize as we read in Rev. 3:20 that they have expelled the Savior from their churches by expelling and continuing to expel the Crucifix from their churches one by one as is being done in Garland, TX and Millstone, NJ even as we speak. Little do they also know that Jesus is “standing at the door (of their churches) and knocking”. And since Jesus is not inside, they have decided to make it into a market place to promote and sell the Mar Thoma Cross to the highest bidder. The Bishop rewards those who promote the Mar Thoma Cross and punish people like Fr. Sajy who stand with the wish of parishioners who opt for the Crucifix. Never mind to what extent some of these priests go to get his hidden agenda carried out. The criminal acts perpetrated by some of the followers and promoters of the Mar Thoma Cross will make even some of the most corrupted politicians in Kerala look like choir boys.
- These Syro-Malabar Church leaders have conveniently forgotten what God says to them in Is. 1:28: “Those who forsake the LORD (and His Crucifix) will perish.” They forget that they are like the lady bugs hiding between the tender leaves of a sugarcane plant enjoying the cool sweet taste of those tender leaves even as the trunk of an elephant is voraciously swinging around them. They do not realize that within a matter of few seconds, they will be swallowed up by the elephant along with the leaves of the sugarcane plant on which they perch. The fate of our Mar Thoma Cross supporters is going to be similar. Only difference is: instead of the sugarcane leaves, it is the lotus leaves that they are perched upon – just as their Mar Thoma Cross which also emerges from lotus leaves. And don’t forget who else emerges from these same lotus leaves – Lord Saraswati herself who gives legitimacy to their idol worship which is what the veneration of the Mar Thoma Cross is since it has no biblical foundation!
- Conclusion: the Cathedral Church in Chicago has at least a shaky foundation; but the worship that goes on inside has no foundation at all.

Rev. Fr. Varghese last Sunday, did preach for hours about honesty and integrity.
But Fr. Varghese did just the opposite of what he preached few Sundays ago when he promised that he will not take any action against any of the Parish Council members only to dock one of the most honest among them (Jojo).
This action in spite of him not taking any action against those who participated in conspiring to change the minutes of official Church meetings (Kudiyan Saju) and tampering with the audited reports of the church (Thorappan Sunny).
The parishioners of the Coppell church will never forget His Excellency Mar Jacob promising to the parishioners that he would not take any action against Fr. Sajy only to fire him and deport him within a matter of just a few days after that.
They have decided that all what matters is to increase the count on the Maaru Thoma Crosses displayed within their Syro-Malabar Churches.
What a shame !!! old man just for chappathi and motta cury served by kaldaaya chechies.
A fact about the SMC-Chicago Diocese.
The lack of SMC-Chicago diocese’s sincerity, loyalty, spiritually towards its vision and mission in USA have clearly depicted in the Altar of the Bellwood cathedral in Chicago. These people need to learn from American churches, until now our SMC-Chicago learned only to loot the American churches by getting funds through indirect sources from American churches and Vatican. Ours is a bunch of priestly ordained people lost their path in the midst of luxury in USA.
We the faithful became a scattered sheeps without a good shepherd and leadership.
It will be great if your current Vacation is forever!!!

ക്ലാവര് കുരിശിനും ശീലക്കും എതിരെ കോപ്പേല് ഇടവകയിലെ ജനങ്ങള് നടത്തുന്ന പ്രക്ഷോഭണത്തിന് തുരംഗം വയ്ക്കാനുള്ള എല്ലാ നീക്കങ്ങള്ക്ക് പിറകിലും ഫാ. വര്ഗീസ് സജീവമാണെന്ന് വ്യക്തമാകത്തക്കവിധമുള്ള തെളിവുകള് ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് കിട്ടിക്കഴിഞ്ഞു.
പള്ളി രേഖകള് തിരുത്താനും മുക്കാനും, അത് വഴി അന്ന്വേഷണ കമ്മീഷനെ വഴി തിരിച്ചു വിടാനും അദ്ദേഹം കൂട്ട് നിന്നത് ജനങ്ങള് മറന്നിട്ടില്ല, മറക്കുകയുമില്ല .
വ്യക്തിത്വം തൊട്ടു തീണ്ടിയില്ലാത്ത അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ നിലപാടുകള് കുറച്ചൊന്നുമല്ല കോപ്പെലിലെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങള് വഷളാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.

I am still shocked and is wondering the double stanadrad attitudes of our Bishop and his House Curia .
I can categorically without any hesitation say and state that Fr.Saji was crucified for his firm stand on Crucifix.Nothing else.This will be clear to you if you read my following statements.
The rumour they spread is that he was fired for misappropriation of coppell church funds.
If this is true and if they have guts they should first fire and deport Fr.Zacharias Thottuvelil for squandering and looting church money from Garland.
He looted lot of money from church account by issuing lots of personal checks and then later on claiming thousands of dollors without either producing his personal checks or even with out producing proof of any documents for whom those checks were issued.
Where were our Bishop and Kaduppan then?
Why Fr. Saji was scape goated and did not take any action against Fr.Zach?
So this is very clear that he was thrown out just for his stand on crucifix.
I urge Bishop and so called curia to go through the audit report of Garland Church to verify the facts.If they have guts it is still not late to come clean and he should be deported soon not to India but to any island where there is no human beings live.Otherwise he will continue the same.
This Fr. Zach will never learn from his experience and he will be doomed to hell if there is any.
Fr.Zach apologized to the auditors before leaving to Florida Church.What apology?He should in fact return those money he looted from church account if he has any sincerity in apologizing.
Well done Bishop and Curia for your double standard nature.God is so powerful and you will see his real strengths.
We have to assume that by protecting Fr.Zacharias you have also shared the looted money.Otherwise show some guts and come clean.How can you come clan when you are the recipients of some of those personal checks.
Did you ever ask Fr.Zacharias why these personal checks are issued?
The answer will be a big NO!
Because we have to assume that this was done in collaboration.
Please kindly check some of your checks that you recieved from his personal checks and verify wether this is true.May Almighty Lord save you all!
Also one last question to Bishop and future Bishop Mar Kaduppill.
Will you please put the audit reports of Garland Church to the public review for those years when Fr.Zacharias was the vicar here in Garland?

You want Bishop and Curia to do what? Check Garland's audited report?
First of all, the Syro diocese doesn't audit their own financials. They think some grocery bills and pocket money received from someone will be enought as the audited report of syro diocese.
Heck, they even put down depreciation as an item in their expenses. Some place they have everything rounded up/down to whole dollar, other palces they have it in dollars and cents. Chicago's audited report!!!!

Kaduppan is the #1 fraud in our Syro Malabar community. His guilty conscious is very clear from his look. SMC-Chicago diocese is almost like a naked king’s situation.

ശബളത്തിന്റെ കണക്ക് മാത്രമേ ഉളേളാ, കിബളവും, മറ്റും എവിടെ പോയി ചേട്ടന്മാരെ! മാസം ശബളവും,കിബളവും, മറ്റും കിട്ടുന്ന വര്ക്കിച്ചായന് ബ്ള,ബ്ള,ബ്ള പറഞ്ഞുകോണ്ടിരുന്നാപോരെ. കൂടാതേ വീടി free, car free, കരണ്ട് free, ഭക്ഷണം free, phone free, പെട്ട്രോള് free, T.V.free, computer free, ഉടുപ്പ് free, എന്തിന് അരാഞ്ഞാ ചരട് വരെ free. എന്നിട്ടും പണം കൊടുക്കുന്ന ജനങ്ങള്ക്ക് തല്ലും, ശാപവും മാത്രം!$6000.00 മാസം പോരെ വര്ക്കിച്ചായന്! സാധാരണ ജനങ്ങള്ക്ക് ഒരു വര്ഷം കിട്ടുന്ന ശബളം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ വര്ക്കിച്ചായന് മാസം.
ക്ലാവര് കുരിശ് വെക്കാനാണല്ലോ പാലാക്ക് അടുത്ത് ക്ലാവര് മഠം അങ്ങാടിത്ത് പിതാവ് ജനങ്ങളുടെ കൈയില് നിന്ന് പണം പിരിച്ചത്.അത് ഇപ്പോള് "ക്ലാവര് മഠം"അമേരിക്കയിലും ഉണ്ടോ?................................................................കുരിസ്സു രൂപം കഴുത്തില് ധരിക്കാന് പാടില്ല എന്ന് നിയമം ഉള്ള കന്യസ്ത്രീ മഠം സീറോ മലബാര് സഭയില് ഉണ്ട് എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു കേട്ടു. ഇത് ശെരിയാണോ.ഈ മഠത്തില് നിന്നു മാത്രമുള്ള കന്യസ്ത്രീകളായിരിക്കും,ചിക്കാഗോയില് അങ്ങടിയത്ത് പിതാവിന്ടെ കീഴില് ഉള്ളത്!!!!!!!
Don’t Teach Catechism to Jesus – Listen to Nike and JUST DO IT!

Some of you may think that I went overboard when I wrote that the worship going on in the Chicago Cathedral has no foundation. Well, there is basis for what I said. And here it is: In Amos 5:12 God says: “You oppress the righteous and take bribes and you deprive the poor of justice.” As I said in this article, it seems that our Bishop is working out a program in which those priests who promote the Persian Cross will be rewarded but those who don’t support him in this venture (like Fr. Sajy) will be deported and/or punished. There is too much injustice going on in the Syro-Malabar Church. That is why it has turned into a “den of thieves” a term Jesus used to describe the Jerusalem Temple.
In Amos 5:21 God goes on to say: “I hate, I despise your religious feasts; I cannot stand your assemblies.” God is tells us that He hates our retreats, Holy Masses, Rosaries, Way of the Crosses, etc. etc. no matter how well-intentioned they may be, if those who pray and worship in the Cathedral or for that matter in any place of worship have turned away from justice. Again in Amos 5:23 we read: “Away with the noise of your songs. I will not listen to the music of your harps.” Then God tells us in Amos 5:24 what we need to do if we want God to listen to our prayers and accept our novenas and everything else: “Let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream.”

Dear fellow Syro-Malabarians (including my friends who are supporters of the Persian Cross), the only recipe for turning things around in our places of worship to make our prayers pleasing in the eyes of God is to act righteously in our everyday life whether it be in our personal lives, church matters or in the way our priests conduct themselves in the church and/or the pulpit. If we carry out acts of injustice like those being carried out in the name of the ‘Mar Thoma Cross’ by His Excellency Mar Jacob Angadiath and his supporters, God can see our prayers only as utter nuisance to His ears as we read above in Amos 5:23. The only way to make things turn around is for the Bishop and the priests to clean up their acts and repent and stop imposing the Mar Thoma Cross in crooked ways on unwilling parishioners. When Jesus says in Jn. 3:14: “Just as Moses lifted up the bronze serpent, so the Son of Man also MUST be lifted up”, as Nike’s commercial says, “JUST DO IT”. Don’t try to teach Jesus Catechism by adamantly insisting to continue imposing the Mar Thoma Cross!
If you do impose and try to teach Catechism to Jesus, listen to what God says in is. 1:20: “If you resist and rebel (against what Jesus is asking us to do when He tells us to raise up the Son of Man on a pole just like Moses lifted up the bronze serpent on a pole), you will be devoured by the sword.” If we are seeing splits and fights in our communities, acts of injustice in the name of the Mar Thoma Cross, lack of peace in church and among Church leaders and priests, etc., etc., you better believe that the Syro-Malabar Church is being devoured by the Sword of the Lord!
Remember what I said about the lady bugs resting comfortably and imbibing the sugar cane juice happy and cozy as though everything is just fine? Well, as long as our Church authorities continue to sit among the leaves of the lotus like those lady bugs doing their thing, the sword of the Lord will continue to devour them. Unfortunately we who do not participate in their conspiracy and hidden agenda are also suffering for the sins of these leaders of ours in today’s American Syro-Malabar Church!!
