After attending the Consecration Ceremony in Coppell yesterday, I was thrilled. If you are like me, I am sure you also felt that our beloved Bishop Mar Jacob Angadiath sounded like an awesome Santa. Yes, he promised that he will not impose the Mar Thoma Cross anymore and anywhere in his diocese since the Kerala Church has not reached a consensus on this issue. For a moment, as an avid devotee of the Crucifix, I felt like a kid sitting on Santa’s lap listening to him telling me I can have whatever I wish for this Christmas. But soon my thoughts turned a little somber. Based on our Bishop’s promises in the past, his promises sounded a little far-fetched. So the question that is now swirling around in my head is: “Can our Bishop deliver in Garland what he promised us in Coppell?” Based on his record on keeping promises, like most of you I feel like he is somebody who lives in an unfamiliar territory like the North Pole while we live in Dallas, Texas.To give us some reassurance, here is a question we are asking our Bishop Santa: Can you deliver in Garland what you promised us yesterday in Coppell? To restore our trust in you which suffered some serious set-back with the Fr. Sajy Chakkittamuriyil fiasco, here is what you need to do:
1) Tell Rev. Fr. Joji Kaniampadickal in the Garland church that he should not move the Crucifix in the Parish Hall. The parishioners in the Garland Church installed that Crucifix in the Parish Hall for it to stay – not to be moved to the new church or anywhere else. If he has no money to buy another crucifix to install in the new Church, I will get that money for him one way or other.
2) Tell Fr. Joji to hold fair elections to appoint a new Parish Council who will be sensitive to public opinion when it comes to implementing the wishes of the parishioners. Right now, what has happened in the Garland is not much different from what has happened in the Ivory Coast, Haiti or Iran where the elections have been manipulated by unscrupulous and greedy dictators. Fr. Joji has denied the parishioners their innate rights to choose their leaders for their community who will install the Crucifix which is what they want. He has handpicked his own cronies who have neither the integrity nor a conscience that will respect the wishes of their fellow parishioners. If Fr. Joji holds a referendum among the parishioners on this issue, this will become clear to him in a heartbeat.
3) Announce in the church that he will install the cross that the majority of the parishioners want and not what he or you want. And be prepared to face a great shock – because what they want is not the Mar Thoma Cross. Sorry to disappoint you, Santa!
If you do the above, then we will trust in you once again. Otherwise to us you will become the Grinch who not only stole our Christmas but also our Crucifix. You will not be our Santa -- not even by a long shot. If you don’t deliver on the promise you made to us in Coppell, then we will wage a battle more fierce in Garland than the one you saw in Coppell. You will be convinced that Coppell was a cakewalk when you see our fight for the Crucifix in Garland. In addition to media attack and financial non-cooperation which we used as our weapons in Coppell, you will see legal action taking a center stage. But our greatest strength will always be this truth: “The battle belongs to the LORD” (1 Sam. 17:47). Legal action will be expensive both to you and to us. But you will have to reimburse our legal expenses when the battle for Garland is won and our diocese will be in worse shape than the bankrupt dioceses in the U.S. after losing the sex scandal cases.
Of course if you don’t keep your promise you made in Coppell, we will have a bad Christmas or two. But you will have a bunch of long and hot summers far away from your cozy and comfortable home in the North Pole shuttling back and forth from courthouse after courthouse. So here is your choice: you can continue to be the good Santa you have shown yourself to be in Coppell on December 19, 2010 or become the Grinch who stole both our Christmas and our Crucifix! We d not want to sound ungrateful to you for the noble character you displayed in Coppell. We immensely thank you for acting with nobility in Coppell yesterday. But you need to go further not for our personal glory or for any benefit our part but for the glory of our Crucified Savior which is at stake. We will defend it at any cost. Then everyone inside and outside the Syro-Malabar Church will know that “the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power” (1 Cor. 4:20). This power flows from the Savior who hangs on the Crucifix which you saw on display on Dec. 19, 2010 and will soon flow into Garland. Then you will be convinced beyond all doubt that the Mar Thoma Cross is nothing but an idol.

ആധുനിക കത്തോലിക്കാ സഭയുടെ ചരിത്രത്തില്‍ അങ്ങാടിയത്തിനെപ്പോലെ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ അപമാനിതനായ ഒരിടയന്‍ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല, ഇനി ഒട്ടു ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്നും തോന്നുന്നില്ല.
വിശുദ്ധ വേദിയില്‍ പോലീസിനെ കടത്തിയതിനുള്ള ഏക ഉത്തരവാദി ബിഷപ്പല്ലാതെ മറ്റാരുമല്ല.
സ്വന്തം അജഗണങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലേക്ക് കാവല്‍ പ്പട്ടാളത്തിന്‍റെ അകമ്പടിയില്ലാതെ ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലാന്‍ ഭയക്കുന്ന ഇടയന്‍ !
സ്ത്രീ ജനങ്ങളും കുഞ്ഞു കുട്ടികളും സന്നിഹിതരായിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ വിശുദ്ധ അങ്കണത്തിനു കളങ്കം ചാര്‍ത്തിയിരിക്കുകയാണ് ഭീരുക്കളായ ചിക്കാഗോ സംഘം.

The Syro Malabar diocese in USA misused the faithful and their hard earned money to deviate the faithful to a pegan ideology under the umbrella of Catholicism. We cannot trust the bishop and his biased priests in USA because they cheated the faithful in Chicago/USA and hung the ugly catherdal altar setups during the lonely hours of night in Chicago. The SMC-Chicago turned the church into their personal fame and benefits. They proclaim the gospel for others but they themselves cannot grasp it seldom inherit it.
Matthew 21:13 = He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers.”
1 Corinthians 6:10 == “nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
We cannot trust the SMC-Chicago bishop anymore until he restores the unity of faithful by removing his pegan cross and viri from the Bellwood cathedral.
The photo is very good. Their guilty conscious is depicted in their faces; and luckily they do not have a thumpykaiy. Any way with the good altar setup everything turned to a good setup with the elegant crucifix and not like the Bellwood’ cathedrals’ MINI SKIRT Altar.

If we change the names we have the same issues here in Phoenix. Hope santa will rectify things and also teach our Priest , more about the Christ and his ways and also tell him that Christmas with out Christ is just some holiday celebrations.

The Council of Trent reaffirmed traditional Christian teaching that the Mass is the same Sacrifice of Calvary offered in an unbloodied manner:
"The victim is one and the same: the same now offers through the ministry of priests, who then offered himself on the cross; only the manner of offering is different.
And since in this divine sacrifice which is celebrated in the Mass, the same Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross is contained and offered in an unbloody manner... this sacrifice is truly propitiatory" (Doctrina de ss. Missae sacrificio, c. 2, quoted in Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1367).
The Council declared that Jesus instituted the Mass at his Last Supper: "He offered up to God the Father His own body and blood under the species of bread and wine; and, under the symbols of those same things, He delivered (His own body and blood) to be received by His apostles, whom He then constituted priests of the New Testament; and by those words, Do this in commemoration of me, He commanded them and their successors in the priesthood, to offer (them); even as the Catholic Church has always understood and taught."
The Catholic Church sees the Mass as the most perfect way it has to offer latria (adoration) to God.
It is also Catholic belief that in objective reality, not merely symbolically, the wheaten bread and grape wine are converted into Christ's body and blood, a conversion referred to as transubstantiation, so that the whole Christ, body and blood, soul and divinity, is truly, really, and substantially contained in the sacrament of the Eucharist.
With crucifix in the alter the whole picture about real mass will be clear to us all.

Parishoners need to pay on monthly basis so our money will be accounted for in our church and would not land in the pocket of chicago.Also if we read the reminder of Bishop's appeal looks loke people did not give him any money and put the Chicago curia in fix. lets wait and see how many more reminders will come.
Regarding calling police in Coppell, I am sure it must have been the Bishop's idea as he had no guts to face parishoners of Coppell after daring them to install marthoma cross.I cant forget the day when he stood up after all the people were agitated and tol that the altar model should be with viri and marthoma cross. Rev bishop people might not read between line but I do not intend to become a fool like the other parishoners. I have decided in future to skip / boycott all functions/ programmes attented by by the Bishop as I lost trust in him. 'He needs to stop listening to THE EX TRUSTEE YOU ALL KNOW WHOM I AM TALIKING ABOUT.

The next good thing the bishop needs to do move Fr. Varghese he is to old for this vibrant parish does not know how to interact with this vibrant crowd. I bet all that he know will be (potti's {pottan wife for those of you who dont know hahahahaha})911's kids name, vattan's daughter/ son and of course the pandi lady's kids name.
How many houses has got invited too? How many houses can he go without being called? maybe only Varghese chetan's house.

This blog has done far better things and achieved greatness for the Syro Malabar laity of Dallas, Taxas. SMCC, the so called laity association of Syro-Malabar diocese of Chicago should pay attention and learn from the 'Coppell' incident and understand what the unity of laity means. I'm surprised that the SMCC leadership did not utter a word during this crisis that affected our church in the USA. The current SMCC national leadership is full of bunch of self promoters who are only intersted in a possible national convention only to create a name for themselves. SMCC should have been in the forefront with the people of Coppell to lead this fight aginast the church hierarchy and their stupid decisions to impose the pagan cross and curtain all accross the SMC parishes in the USA. Again, the current SMCC leaders want to run (down) this organization like FOMAA or FOKANA. Standing up for the laity is not in their agenda. Shame on you SMCC leaders... Hats off to the people of Coppell, May God bless you all.

The Catholic Syrian Bank was started by Syro Malabar Catholics under the guidance of Thrissur arch Diocese (that time it was Thrissur Diocese). Just like Deepika news paper, the mismanagement by the church resulted in loosing this bank's control from Catholics hand. I would personnally support Bishop Andrews Thazath for all his efforts to get the control back. This is the pride of catholics, the same as Deepika news papaer.
