പൊടിപടലം ഒന്ന് കേട്ടടങ്ങിക്കോട്ടേ എന്ന് കരുതി. കാള പെറ്റു എന്ന് കേട്ട പാടെ കയറെടുക്കാന്‍ ഓടാന്‍ ഞങ്ങളില്ല.
സീറോ മലബാര്‍ സഭയുടെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠ മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്തയായി മാര്‍ ജോര്‍ജ് ആലഞ്ചേരിയെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തതിനെപ്പറ്റിയാണ്‌ പറയുന്നത്.
കഴിഞ്ഞ രണ്ടു ദിവസങ്ങളായി പല കമെന്റ്കളും വരുന്നു. പല സൊ-കോള്‍ഡ്‌ ബ്ലോഗുകളിലും വ്യാഖ്യാനങ്ങള്‍ വരുന്നു. പല പാര്‍ട്ടി സദസ്സുകളിലും പറഞ്ഞു കേള്‍ക്കുന്നു: മാര്‍ ആലഞ്ചേരിയുടെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് പവ്വത്തില്‍ പക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഒരു വിജയമാണത്രെ. കടുത്ത കല്‍ദായവാദിയും പ്രാദേശികവാദിയുമാണത്രെ അദ്ദേഹം. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍റെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പോടെ സീറോ മലബാര്‍ സഭയില്‍ ക്രൂസിഫികിന്റെ മരണമണിയടിച്ചു. ഇതൊക്കെയാണ് നമ്മുടെ ജനകീയ പത്രപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരായ ബ്ലോഗുകാരും അതില്‍ കമെന്റെഴുതുന്നവരും പറയുന്നത്.
ഇതൊക്കെ കേട്ട് തുള്ളാന്‍ ഒരു കൂട്ടം ആള്‍ക്കാര്‍ ഉണ്ട് താനും . രണ്ടു പക്ഷത്തു നിന്നും. ചില ക്ലാവര്‍ രോഗികള്‍ ഇപ്പോള്‍ നിലത്തൊന്നുമല്ല നില്‍ക്കുന്നത്. ക്ലാവര്‍ കുരിശു ഇനിയിപ്പോള്‍ ആരുടെ നെറുകം തലയിലും വേണ്ടി വന്നാല്‍ കയറ്റും എന്ന മട്ടും ഭാവവുമാണ്‌ അവര്‍ക്ക്. ക്രൂശിത രൂപത്തിന്റെ ആള്‍ക്കാര്‍ ആണെങ്കില്‍ ആകെ നിരാശയിലാണ്. എല്ലാം കൈവിട്ടു പോയി എന്ന നിരാശയിലാണ് അവര്‍ .
എന്നാല്‍ ഈ രണ്ടു പക്ഷക്കാരുടെയും നിഗമനങ്ങള്‍ ശരിയല്ല എന്നതാണ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ അഭിപ്രായം. ഒരു ചെറിയ മിഷന്‍ രൂപതയിലെ എളിയ ഒരു മെത്രാനായാണ് അദ്ദേഹം ഇതുവരെ അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നത്. ഒരു കല്‍ദായ തീവ്രവാദിയായി അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഇന്നുവരെ ഒരു കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളും വിശേഷിപ്പിച്ചു കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല. പുരോഹിതനായ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍റെ ഒരു സഹോദരന്‍ കൊപ്പേല്‍ പള്ളിയില്‍ ക്രൂശിത രൂപത്തെ അവഹേളിച്ചു പ്രസംഗിച്ചു എന്നൊരാരോപണം ഉണ്ട്. അത് അങ്ങാടിയത്ത് മെത്രാനെ ഒന്ന് മസ്കയടിക്കാന്‍ വേണ്ടി മാത്രം ചെയ്തതാണ് എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം തന്നെ പലരോടും ഏറ്റു പറഞ്ഞതായി ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കറിയാം. ഒരു തെക്കന്‍ രൂപതയില്‍ പിറന്നു പോയി എന്നതുകൊണ്ട്‌ മാത്രം അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു കല്‍ദായ അനുഭാവിയാണെന്നു മുദ്ര കുത്തുന്നത് ശരിയല്ല. മിതവാദിയായ ഒരു വ്യക്തിയാണ് മാര്‍ ആലഞ്ചേരി എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അടുത്തറിയാവുന്ന പല വൈദീകരും പറയുന്നു.
ഇന്ന് നമ്മുടെ സീറോ മലബാര്‍ സഭക്ക് ആവശ്യം തെക്കിന്റെയോ വടക്കിന്റെയോ മാത്രം ഭാഗത്ത് നില്‍ക്കുന്ന ഒരു പിതാവിനെയല്ല. നിഷ്പക്ഷവാദിയായ ഒരു പിതാവിനെയാണ്. ചങ്ങനാശ്ശേരി ക്കാരുടെയോ പാലാക്കാരുടെയോ മാത്രം പിതാവല്ല അദ്ദേഹം. ത്രിശൂരിന്റെയും എറണാത്തിന്റെയും പാലക്കാടിന്റെയും കൂടിയാണ്. നമ്മുടെ ബിഷപ്‌ മാര്‍ അങ്ങാടിയത്തിനെപ്പോലെ അത് മനസ്സിലാക്കാനുള്ള വിവെകമില്ലാത്തവനാണ് ആദേഹം എന്ന് ഞങ്ങള്‍ കരുതുന്നില്ല. ഭിന്നവും വ്യത്യസ്തങ്ങളും ആയ രീതികളും ആചാരങ്ങളുമുള്ള ഒരു സമൂഹത്തില്‍ ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു ഭാഗത്തിന്റെ മാത്രം ആചാരങ്ങള്‍ അടിച്ചേല്‍പ്പിക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചാല്‍ അത് അസാമാധാനത്തിലും ഭിന്നതയിലും മാത്രമേ കലാശിക്കൂ എന്നതിന് ചിക്കാഗോ രൂപത്ത തന്നെ വലിയൊരു ഉദാഹരണമാണ്.
മാര്‍ ആലഞ്ചേരിയുടെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് പവ്വത്തിന്റെ വലിയൊരു നേട്ടമാണ് എന്ന് കരുതുന്നവര്‍ക്കും തെറ്റിപ്പോയി. പവ്വത്തില്‍ പിതാവ് എന്ന മെയിന്‍ മേസ്ത്രി തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞ കല്ലാണ് ഇപ്പോള്‍ മൂലക്കല്ലായി എടുക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് അധികമാരുക്കും അറിയാമോ എന്നറിയില്ല. എന്നാല്‍ സത്യം അതാണ്‌. ചെങ്ങനാശ്ശേരി മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്തയായി മാര്‍ ആലഞ്ചേരിയുടെ നാമം പണ്ട് നിര്‍ദേശിക്കപ്പെട്ടപ്പോള്‍ അതിനു തുരങ്കം വച്ചത് പവ്വത്തിലല്ലാതെ മറ്റാരുമല്ല. അങ്ങനെയാണ് അദ്ദേഹം ആരും കേട്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത തക്കല എന്ന രൂപതയുടെ മെത്രാനായത്. തന്റെ ആ കൊച്ചു രൂപതയില്‍ അദ്ദേഹം കാഴ്ചവെച്ച എളിയ സേവനങ്ങളാണ് ഇന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠമെത്രാപ്പോലീത്ത സ്ഥാനത്തേക്ക് ഉയര്‍ത്തുവാന്‍ നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുക്ക് പ്രചോതനമേകിയത് എന്ന് ഞങ്ങള്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. ചെങ്ങനാശ്ശേരി അതിരൂപതയുടെ പിതാവാകാന്‍ യോഗ്യതയില്ല എന്ന് പവ്വത്തില്‍ വിധിയെഴുതിയ മാര്‍ ആലഞ്ചേരി ആഗോള സീറോ മലബാര്‍ രൂപതയുടെ അധിപനാകുന്നു. മാര്‍ പവ്വത്തില്‍ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍റെ കൈകള്‍ മുത്തി ഇന്ന് കീഴ്പ്പെടെണ്ടി വന്നത് ഏതു ക്രിസ്ത്യാനിക്കും ഒരു പാഠമായിരിക്കണം.

പുതിയ archbishop നെ പറ്റി ഇതില്‍ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ സെരിയാണെന്നു തോന്നുന്നു. വാല്കഷണത്തില്‍ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യത്തോട് വിയോജിക്കാതെ വയ്യ. experiment നടത്തി പരാജയപ്പെടുന്ന ജനപ്രിയരല്ലാത്ത bishop മാരെ നാടുകടത്തി നന്നാക്കി എടുക്കാനുള്ള ദുര്‍ഗുണ പരിഹാര പാടസാലയായി ഇന്ത്യയിലെ രൂപതകളെ കരുതല്ലേ. ഇങ്ങോട്ട് വിടാതെ അവിടെ തന്നെ ഒന്ന് adjust ചെയ്യൂ please. അല്ലെങ്ങില്‍ വല്ല Africa യിലേക്കും export ചെയ്യൂ. ഇങ്ങോട്ട് വിടാതിരിക്കാന്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ നേര്ച്ച നേരുന്നുണ്ട്. തക്കലക്ക് വിട്ടാല്‍ വീണിടം വിഷ്ണു ലോകം എന്ന് കരുതുന്നവര്‍ക്ക് ഒന്നും സംഭവിക്കുകയില്ല. തക്കലയിലെ പാവപ്പെട്ടവരുടെ ഫോട്ടോസ് അയച്ചു തന്നു സുനാമിയെന്നോ ഭൂമികുലുക്കമെന്നോ ഒക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു വീണ്ടും നിങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നും പിരിവു നടത്തും കേട്ടോ. ഞാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞില്ലെന്നു പിന്നീടു പറഞ്ഞേക്കരുത്.

The interesting thing is that, Major Arch Bishop is coming to Ernakulam and staying in Kakkanad only. So, He should come to Ernakulam Liturgical style with Crucifix in the main Altar & mass facing to the people. . Athu valla konothilum chennu parayuka. OK.

Mar george alencherry wore ernakulam style Y kappa without claver in todays installation. The mass was celeberated facing people. His sermon was so powerful. He also didnt used kai sleeba( used by south bishops) his pastoral staff didnt have any claver....well done bishop for not hurting the sentiments of the people of ernakulam and majority of syro malabar faithfull...god bless u...

Congratulations and kudos to Major Archbishop Alanchery for exhibiting prudence in wearing the Y kappa without claver on his first day on the job. In keeping with the spirit of 2 Cor. 8:21, he has displayed the right attitude towards his flocks in general by respecting the feelings of not only the flocks within the Ernakulam and Trichur Dioceses, but also of the vast majority of the Syro-Malabar members everywhere. St. Paul says in 2 Cor. 8:21: "We are taking pains to do what is right not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of men." It is commonplace knowledge that the vast majority of the Syro-Malabar Catholics vote for the Crucifix in their churches and other places of worship. Certainly therefore this is the right thing to do not only in the eyes of God, but also in the eyes of men also. The Crucifix has been the hallmark of the Catholic Church for more than a 1000 years and therefore it should be adhered to at all cost. Recently the peace in our Syro-Malabar Church has been deplorably interrupted by the clamor of the Kaldayan Cross mongers. It is high time that peace and order be restored within the Syro-Malabar Church once again. And I am sure the action of Major Archbishop Alanchery will go a long way in achieving it. We praise God and our Lord Jesus Christ for giving us Major Archbishop Alanchery as the leader of our Syro-Malabar Church. We also pray that he will continue to exercise theological prudence in staying within the spirit of 2 Cor. 8:21 since it is the right thing to do as it is pleasing to God and the vast majority of the Syro-Malabar Catholics world-wide. Your excellency, we cordially welcome you and your administrative style. May God strengthen you to stay on the right path you have set your foot on by not bowing to the pressures from the Kaldayan faction. Praise be to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for answering our prayer by giving us a leader who is sensitive to doing the right thing for the good of His Church as a whole without pandering to the desire of just a small minority. It is truly encouraging to see the light at the end of the tunnel -- we see the possibility that Major Archbishop Alenchery will do everything in his reach to implement the guidelines of the many recent Synodical decisions to refrain from imposing the Mar Thoma Cross "covertly or overtly" against the majority will of the parishioners everywhere including Garland, Texas, USA. We humbly ask His Excellency to ensure that justice is done to the parishioners in Garland who have clearly told the Pastor Fr. Sebastian Kaniampadickal that they do not want any drawing of the Mar Thoma Cross within the sanctuary of their church which idea was forced upon them against their expressed will and desire by the pastor. If this is carried out, it will certainly amount to imposing the Mar Thoma Cross "overtly" on these parishioners which should not be allowed to happen.
