To be frank, the recent reports of the ‘syromalabarvoice’ on the prayer-dharna, held at Kakkanad on May 23, 2011, have resulted in greatly impairing its credibility. The first report on May 23rd said that the prayer-dharna was led by Catholics from various parishes of the Chicago diocese. The very next day, it reported that it was conducted by an anti-church quotation agency called JICC, as assigned by some Garland people! Again, the following day it came out with yet another version and said that the Garland people were not involved at all in the episode! It is obvious to all that each report contradicted the other.
It looks as if the reporter had no idea at all about the program. He should have at least inquired about who the leaders were and what the objectives were. He shouldn’t have gone for such wild guess-work. The credibility of the blog itself has been much diluted due to this and the truth was crucified in this process.
First of all, the Joint Christian Council (JCC) which conducted the program is not an anti-church organization. It was formed about three years ago as a common platform of several independent Christian groups working in different parts of Kerala. All of them are functioning as corrective forces within the church. Their common aim is to get the proposed Church Act (Kerala Christian Church Properties and Institutions Trust Bill) enacted and implemented. And, they are going vigorously with various programs such as conventions, corner meetings, leaflet distributions, bill-boards, and even advertisement campaigns in newspapers and magazines. The impact of JCC is reflected even in the recent Kerala assembly election. Knowing nothing about the JCC, the syromalabarvoice reporter has concluded that it is as anti-Christian and quotation agency! Indeed, very sad.
My request to the syromalabarvoice is to learn lessons from such experiences and turn to the path of media-ethics based on the truth.

I am surprised about how did S M Voice make this mistake. Make sure to have credible, sincere reporters. You worked a lot for a good cause, now don't let it go to waste. There are many who wish to see your ruin.
hi
i think the jcc is doing a good job and is standing for a noble cause . and the new proposed bill should be supported. the bill will bring some check into the real estate mafia style actions of church.!!!dr teny
