It is not at all surprising me to see the culmination of events to which our Bishop and Fr. Jojy and Fr. Koruth are leading themselves up.
Their actions prove the truthfulness of the Word of God contained in Rom. 1:22: "Claiming to be wise, they became fools." If one stubbornly defies the Word of God to implement their own evil schemes as Fr. Jojy and Fr. Koruth and our Bishop have done, there is no doubt they will make themselves fools which is what we are seeing in the Garland church and Chicago Cathedral.It is not at all surprising me to see the culmination of events to which our Bishop and Fr. Some time back I had written in an article how like Prophet Jonah, the Bishop has landed himself in the belly of a large fish. In the case of Jonah, he realized his mistake after two days of his drenching experience in the belly of the fish. He repented and decided to obey God and that was his turning point towards a reformed and rewarding life. But in the case of our Bishop and Fr. Jojy, it seems they are never going to turn back. As a result they go from one blunder to another. When Jonah got out of the fish, it has been said that his body looked like a half baked fish taken out of boiling oil before it is cooked completely. As a result, the residents of Nineveh to whom he preached could clearly see what would happen if one disobeyed God. His wrinkled and shriveled up skin told the story in no uncertain language. From events that have occurred and continue to occur in Garland and Chicago, it is clear that our bishop Mar Angadiath and Fr. Jojy and Fr. Koruth will be in such horrible shape after the Garland church is completed that would make Prophet Jonah who came of out of the belly of the fish look like an angel -- unless of course they turn away from their misguided path at this very moment without any further adieu. But instead of turning back, they seem to be more and more entangled in their mess. The more they try to extricate themselves from their mess, the more they are entangling themselves deeper into it. The intimidation of the parishioners of Garland through threatening letters being sent out by the Bishop and those sent out by Fr. Jojy to the parishioners of Garland are clear examples of this fact. No wonder in Heb. 12:1 we read that "sin easily entangles". In the case of Bishop Jacob Angadiath, Fr. Jojy, Fr. Koruth and others who are peddling the idolatrous Mar Thoma Cross, through their misguided actions, are entangling themselves into a bigger and bigger mess. This will go on until and unless they turn away from their defying attitude towards Almighty God. They must embrace the Crucifix and put it back in all our Syro-Malabar churches in the place of the 'Mar Thoma Cross'. The 'Mar Thoma Cross' is nothing but an idol and Satanic whether they agree or not based on Jn. 3:14.

യേശു പൂര്‍ണ മനുഷ്യനും പൂര്‍ണ ദൈവവുമായിരുന്നു. 200 ശതമാനം. നമ്മള്‍ കണ്ടിരുന്നത്‌ രണ്ടാം ആദമായ പൂര്‍ണമനുഷ്യനായ, നശ്വര ശരീരത്തോടുകൂടിയ യേശുവിനെയാണ്. ജനങ്ങള്‍ കണ്ടിരുന്ന യേശുവിന്‍റെ ശരീരം നശിച്ചുപോയീ.
യേശുവിന്‍റെ മരണത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് യേശു തന്നെ വിവരിക്കുന്നത് ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചാലും, john 12 :24 - ഗോതമ്പുമണി നിലത്തുവീണഴുകുന്നില്ലെങ്കില്‍, അത് അതേപടിയിരിക്കും, അഴിയുന്നങ്കിലോ, അത് അനേകം ഫലം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കും.( "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.)
അതേപോലെ I Corinthose 15:( 35-57) ആണു മരണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും മരണാനന്തര അവസ്ഥയെക്കുറിച്ചും ലളിതമായും ചുരുക്കമായും പ്രതിപാതിക്കുന്ന ഭാഗം.
ഇതെല്ലം നോക്കിയാല്‍ യേശുവിന്‍റെ നശ്വര ശരീരം ദൈവം മാറ്റിക്കളഞ്ഞു , മോശയുടെ ശരീരം മാറ്റിയതുപോലെ. ടോമിനെപ്പോലുള്ളവരെ രക്ഷിക്കാനണങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തത്.
അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഉയര്തെഴുന്നെട്ട യേശുവിനെ കണ്ടവര്‍ക്കാര്‍ക്കും മനസ്സിലാകാതിരുന്നത്. യേശു പറയുന്ന മറ്റൊരു ഭാഗം - എന്റെ ശരീരം നശിപ്പിച്ചാല്‍ മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തിനകം വീണ്ടും പണിയും - അവിടെയും പഴയ ശരീരമല്ല പുതിയതാണെന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കുക. എന്റെ ശരീരം നശിപ്പിച്ചാല്‍ എന്ന് പറയുന്നതില്‍ നിന്നുതന്നെ യേശുവിന്‍റെ ഈലോക ശരീരം ന്ശ്വരമായിരുന്നുവെന്നു യേശു തന്നെ സാക്ഷ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.
ടോം പറഞ്ഞ വാക്യം ഒന്നുകൂടി വായിച്ചു നോക്കുക, നശ്വരമായതോന്നിന്‍റെയും പ്രതിമയും രൂപവും ഉണ്ടാക്കരുതെന്നാണ് പറഞ്ഞത്.
ടോമിനെപോലെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവരെക്കുരിച്ചു പൗലോസ്‌ പറയുന്നത് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക- I Corinthose 15:36- വിഡ്ഢിയായ മനുഷ്യാ, നീ വിതക്കുന്നതു നശിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കില്‍ അത് പുനര്‍ജനിക്കുകയില്ല. ഉണ്ടാകാനിരിക്കുന്ന പദാ പദാര്‍ഥമല്ല നീ വിതക്കുന്നതു.
എന്റെ ശരീരം നശിപ്പിച്ചാല്‍ എന്ന് പറയുന്നതില്‍ നിന്നുതന്നെ യേശുവിന്‍റെ ഈലോക ശരീരം ന്ശ്വരമായിരുന്നുവെന്നു യേശു തന്നെ സാക്ഷ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.
യേശു നശ്വരമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞ ശരീരത്തെ , അനശ്വരനാക്കി, തന്നെ തന്നെ ബുദ്ധിമാനെന്നു ധരിക്കാതിരിക്കുക.

Matthew 18:20 - ഉം Luke 22:19 ഉം തമ്മില്‍ കൂട്ടിയോജിപ്പിച്ച് ഒരുവാക്ക്യമായി വിശ്വാസികളെ തെറ്റിധരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനെ യാണ് ഞാന്‍ പരാമര്‍ശിച്ചത്. ഒന്നുകൂടി വ്യക്തമാക്കിയാല്‍ , ലോകത്തൊരു ബൈബിളിലും ,ഓര്‍മ്മയചരിക്കാന്‍ പറയുന്നതിനുമുന്പായി എന്റെ നാമത്തില്‍ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടുംപോളില്ലെന്നാണ് ഞാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞത്. Matthew 18:20 - നും Luke 22:19 നും ഇടയില്‍ ഏകദേശം 100 പേജുകള്‍ ഉണ്ടെന്നുള്ളത് സൌകര്യപൂര്‍വ്വം വിസ്മരിക്കാതിരിക്കുക. അതുപോലെ തികച്ചും വ്യത്യസ്തമായ രണ്ടു സന്ദര്‍ഭങ്ങളില്‍ പറഞ്ഞ 100 പേജുകള്‍ അകലമുള്ള രണ്ടു വാക്യങ്ങളെ ഒന്നാക്കുകയാണ് ഇവിടെ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്.
(മത്തായി 5:9 ഉം മര്‍ക്കോസ് 5: (14-15) ഉം ചേര്‍ത്ത് വായിച്ചാല്‍ യേശു മത്തായിയെ കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍ പിശാശു ബാധിധാനും നഗ്നനുമായിരുന്നു വന്നു വരുത്തി തീര്‍ക്കാം.

കാലാകാലങ്ങളില്‍ ജനങ്ങളെ ഭിന്നിപിച്ചും തമ്മിലടുപ്പിച്ചും നിര്‍ത്തി കാര്യം കാണുന്നതാണ് രാഷ്ര്ടിയ പാര്‍ടികളുടെയും നേതാക്കന്‍ മാരുടെയും രീതി.ഇതു തന്നെ
കാര്യസാധ്യത്തിനായി സഭ അധികാരികളും തുടരുന്നതാണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്‍ എന്നുതന്നെ പറയാം.

കഴിഞ്ഞ പത്തു വര്‍ഷങ്ങളായി സിറോ മലബാര്‍ പിരിവു മാത്രം ഒരു കുടുംബത്തിനു minimum ഇരുപ്പതിയ്യിരം ഡോളര്‍ വന്നെന്നു കാണാം.ഇതിന്റെ പത്തിലൊന്ന് പ്രയോജനം തിരിച്ചു കിട്ടുന്നില്ല എന്നതാണ് ശ്രധികേണ്ട കാരിയം.കൊടുത്തില്ലേങ്ങില്‍ വരുന്ന തെറി വിളി പേടിച്ചിട്ടാണ് പലരും ഇല്ലാത്ത കാശ് കാര്‍ഡില്‍ നിന്ന് എടുതുപോലും
കൊടുക്കുന്നത്.ഇനി കൊടുത്താലോ കിട്ടി കഴിയുമ്പോള്‍ പിന്നെ എല്ലാം തന്നിഷ്ടം പോലെ.

This is in response to Guru Pippiladan’s rebuttal. It is counterproductive to argue with the Word of God and the Word of God clearly states so. In Phil. 2:14-16 we read: “Do everything without arguing and complaining so that you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world. Holding on to the word of life …” Guru Pippiladan or anyone else can argue all they want as Bishop Angadiath and Fr. Joji in Garland are already doing arguing why the Mar Thoma Cross is the right cross of Jesus Christ. But they are dead wrong as their arguments have no Biblical basis. It is not what Tom Varkey says or Bishop Mar Angadiath says or Guru Pippiladan says. It is what God says which is the truth. The only truth is what God says as we read in Jn. 17:17. If God says something, that is the final word and there is no point in anyone else saying anything because God’s word is the final word.
Another fact of the matter is that you cannot understand the Bible without the help of the Holy Spirit. And God gives the Holy Spirit to only those who obey His Word (Acts 5:32). When Jesus says in Jn. 3:14 that the Son of Man must be lifted up just as Moses erected the bronze serpent in the desert, we better do it His way and that is what lends authenticity to the Crucifix. It absolutely makes no difference what Bishop Powathil or Bishop Angadiath says. God has spoken and therefore the final word is what He has said about the Crucifix.
A couple of examples to substantiate this point from the Bible: In Jn. 9:1, Jesus asks the blind man to go and wash his eyes in the Pool of Siloam, he better do it. He was ready to obey and that is why when he was on his way to the Pool of Siloam, he was healed. He didn’t even have to do it. But he had every intention to do it and therefore he was healed. One more example. In Josh 7, God asked Joshua to circle the city of Jericho 7 times as a plan to conquer it. When Joshua obeyed as God asked him to do, the walls of Jericho went down and he and his men were able to take the City of Jericho. There are numerous examples that I can point out but I am sure two given here are convincing enough.
In Mt. 11:27 we read: “No one knows the Father except the Son and to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.” Heavenly secrets are revealed to us only by God and this could be by Jesus Christ as revealed in this passage or by God the Father as we read in Mt. 16 or by the Holy Spirit as we read in Jn. 15. In other words only God can reveal truth to us and unless and until He reveals it to us, we will not know truth. God will not reveal truth to anyone who lives in open rebellion with Him because God is not pleased with him. It does not take rocket science to figure that out. So Guru Pippiladan and Bishop Angadiath and anyone else can argue all they want justifying the ‘Mar Thoma Cross’ but as long as it has no Biblical basis as the crucifix has (Jn. 3:14), they are rebelling against God. Therefore as I pointed out quoting Hebr. 12:1, they will be entangling themselves more and more until and unless they obey what Jesus asks them to do thru Jn. 3:14 by “lifting up the Son of Man just as Moses erected it in the desert.” Anything short of obeying this command is rebellion against God and anyone who is not willing to do it will plunge himself deeper and deeper into mess after mess each mess deeper than the previous one as being clearly demonstrated in the case of the drawings depicted in the Garland Church and in the Cathedral church in Chicago.

As Saint Paul teaches, Holy Spirit transforms Jesus' flesh-body into Spirit-body and thus vivifies the dead Jesus Christ (Romans 8:11). Lotus: According to several scholars this particular Cross is erected upon lotus. Although it is not proved beyond doubt, a Chinese cross, erected on a lotus flower, coming from the same era, is a very good substantiation for the assumption of the scholars. Lotus, being the symbol of Buddhism, has turned out to be India's symbol because of the influence of Buddhism in India, during and immediately after the reign of the great Emperor Asoka. Thus the Sliba erected on a lotus is a living symbol of faith in the risen Jesus, established in India. Three steps: The lotus in the Mar Toma Sliba remains over three steps. The symbolism of steps is evolved in connection with liturgical tradition. The three steps signify either heaven or Calvary. In our case the stress is on Calvary and thus they signify the death of Jesus.

More Reasons why Guru Pippiladan is Wrong … Tom Varkey
One of the arguments that Guru Pippiladan is raising is that Jesus’s old body was destroyed . This is not true according to the Bible. Jesus’ resurrected body was the same body He had when He was on earth. The only difference is that it is the same body in its glorified form. Jesus in fact did once display His body in its glorified form on Mt. Tabor when He was alive in the presence of Peter, James and John as we read in Mt. 17. There His face shone like the sun and His clothes became as white as light. It was not a new body that Jesus displayed in front of the three Apostles – but the same body in its glorified form. Because soon after the transfiguration, He reverted back to the body in its non-glorified form only minutes after His transfiguration. It was this same body in its glorified form that He showed Himself to Mary Magdalene when He appeared to her as described in Jn. 20:10-16. In Jn. 20:16 we read: “Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni” (which means Teacher).
Here in the above encounter of Mary Magdalene with the risen Christ, Mary recognized Jesus from His voice alone even before she turned towards Him and saw Him. In other words, Jesus not only retained His glorified body in the same form as the one He displayed to the Apostles in Mt. 17, but even His voice had remained the same. This is also going to be the case with us. We are going to retain our present bodies which will receive glory when it is raised up as we read in 1 Cor. 15:49 where we read: “Just as we have borne the likeness of the earthy man, so shall we bear the likeness of the man from heaven.” It is clear here that it is the same body which we have now that has the likeness of Adam that will later on be receiving the image and glory of the man from heaven, meaning Jesus Christ. In other words, we will become like Jesus Christ one day when our present bodies are raised in glory to live in heaven with Jesus Christ for all eternity. This same idea is conveyed in Phil. 3:20 where we read: “ … Jesus Christ will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.” In other words, it is the very same body that is in its present lowly (ordinary and unglorified) form that is going to be transformed like the glorified body of Christ who is in Christ now.
Another error that Pippiladan makes is saying that God told us not to make any images of anything that is destructive (നശ്വര ശരീരം). God does not say this in the Bible. He says in Ex. 20:4: “You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.” God does not make any distinction between നശ്വര ശരീരം and അനശ്വര ശരീരം. So, it does not matter whether it is one or the other. We are not supposed to make any idols, period. However, the above command does not apply to God though. We have to remember that God is in a class by Himself and everybody else and anything else is in a separate class. Put in other words, God is the Creator and the rest are all creatures. So when He says, do not make the image of anything, He is talking about making the image of any of the created objects or persons. If we mix the two classes, we will end up with making big blunders.

For example in Mt. 11:12 Jesus says: “I tell you the truth: Among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.” If we fail to keep God and everything and everyone else in the two separate categories they belong to, we will be forced to admit that John the Baptist is greater than Jesus. This is so because Jesus also was born of woman (Mary) and in the above verse Jesus says, John the Baptist is greater than anyone born of woman. Just as Mt. 11:12 is not applicable to Jesus, the commandment on making idols contained in Ex. 20 is not applicable to God. Another reason why this is so is the fact that Jesus specifically asks us to “lift the Son of Man just as Moses raised the serpent in the desert” (Jn. 3:14).
But above all, the trump card of all arguments is the command contained in Eph. 5:15-18. Here we read: “Be very careful, then how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity … do not be foolish, but … be filled with the [Holy] Spirit.” We have to realize that the Bible is a love letter written by God to His would-be bride (Rev. 19:7) and only His would-be bride can understand it. In order to become Jesus’ would-be bride, one has to be filled with the Spirit as commanded in Eph. 5:15-18. It is a command and not merely a suggestion meant just for a few super spiritual Christians. It is for everyone who wants to go to heaven and live with Jesus Christ for all eternity as His eternal bride. As I mentioned in my earlier rebuttal to Pippiladan’s erroneous arguments, the very first thing that one needs to do to receive the Holy Spirit is to demonstrate willingness to obey God in everything He asks us to do including what Jesus commands us in Jn. 3:14.
The only way they can come out of this predicament is to embrace the Crucifix and surrender to God in total obedience and thus prove to be wise by first receiving and then being filled with the Holy Spirit. Until this happens, Guru Pippiladan or Bishop Angadiath or Powathil or anyone else can argue all they want, but they will continue to be unwise since they are rejecting the only recipe for receiving wisdom by being filled with the Holy Spirit. By resorting to various arguments for justifying their disobedience and blasphemous actions, they may be trying harder and harder to be wise but they will actually be becoming greater and greater fools. As we saw in Heb. 12:1, they “will be more and more entangled” by their sinful actions. This is so because they are continuing to reject the only recipe for becoming wise which the word of God prescribes in Jn. 3:14 and Eph. 5:15-18. Thus, claiming to be wise, again and again they are becoming fools. And the more things they do such as drawing and redrawing the picture of the risen Christ or putting up the ‘Mar Thoma Cross’ in the sanctuaries of the Garland Church or in the Chicago Cathedral church, the greater fools they will become as we are seeing in Garland and Chicago. This will go on unless and until like Prophet Jonah, they make a U-turn from their present misguided path by rejecting the ‘Mar Thoma Cross’ for ever to embrace the Crucifix to demonstrate their willingness to obey God which is the pre-condition to receiving the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:32).

It is quite pathetic to read that you still believe that “Saint Thomas the Apostle died as a martyr on this particular granite stone. The faithful kept it sacred and at a later stage the typical cross was engraved on it. The feast of Mar Toma Sliba, the unique and unparallel symbol of Mar Toma Margam, is celebrated on December 18.” The so called “Marthoma Sleeba” has been scientifically analyzed to originated in late 600 AD. and its origin being Persia, has no relation whatsoever to St. Thomas or his “so called mission” India. If you were reading this blog and some of the findings of reputed historians, even the arrival of St. Thomas the disciple of Jesus Christ in India is under dispute. You are talking about tradition and do you want to follow the tradition? Tradition is nothing but a system that the privileged created for their advantage. You are nothing but living in 18th century. Wake up man, The holy spirit is blessing you with wisdom. Make yourself worthy to receive the wisdom. Don’t be like a naxalite or communist with the only knowledge you have is “ the prathyashasthram”. There is a beautiful world outside that nut shell. You have to seek to get it.
You are talking about Ashoka and the Budhist. History says Budhist was practically eliminated from the Indian seen even before Christ. Ashoka ruled Before Christ. More over Lotus is more affiliated to Hinduism than the Budhist. This being the fact I can’t understand how dare you make such a statement. Look at the so called “Marthoma Sleeba” of today. It may have some resemblance to the cross that was somehow unearthed from Mylapoor during the sixteenth century but has no essence of it. What you see today is an artist’s impression(under the direction Powathil). Any fool can make an interpretation about it. More over what is the biblical stand (not in powathil’s interpretation, true biblical)on a dove descending on the cross. Although holy spirit is understood to have descended up on Jesus while he was baptized, there is no such incident reported that shows the holy spirit ever descended on an empty “cross”. More over the symbolism that you are speaking about can be defined and established in many other ways. It all depends on the person and his state of mind. You are quoting the comparison of Budhism and Christianity to some “scholars”. I am absolutely sure these scholars are the products of the infamous Vadavathoor seminary. Such a scholar has drawn a coffin and two donkeys along with the risen Christ in the Altar of the new Garland church. In your analysis what would this symbolize?
