because just as the serpent was intended for those who were bitten by the snakes to regain life,
the Crucifix was intended for us as an instrument of getting back our spiritual intimacy with Jesus whenever we lose it through sin.

On detailed analysis, we can see that these Pahlavi crosses reveal a mine of very interesting information. It tells us the tradition of saint Thomas Christians and their veneration of Cross. It gives a hint that these crosses were present in the past and revived 6-7 th centuries by putting the Pahlavi inscriptions around it and made copies everywhere. It also tell us the story of Iconoclasm by the Portuguese.
The Pahlavi crosses at Mylappore and Kottyam were kept and venerated in the church. The Pahlavi crosses in Syro Malabar churches all were seen neglected or damaged- Kothanalloor hidden in the wall covered with plaster, Muttuchira seen mutilated, Alengadu seen neglected and thrown away and found on the wayside. Only those churches which after 1663, remained with the Jacobite Syrians or under Dutch or British control like that of Mylappore could preserve the Pahlavi crosses intact

Ths is seen on the baptismal font at Kaduthurythy valiyapalli. It is of 9th century AD. I have not seen this cross personally. The information is from Fr Jacob Kollamparambil’s article in the Christian orient.
9.Changanacherry Cross
There are two crosses found at Changanacherry valiyapalli. Saint Thomas Cross A Religio Cultural Logo of Saint Thomas Christians
One at the open air rock cross and the other inside the oldest church, on the left side of the new church. The cross has four steps on the bottom, There is no figure of Jesus, and there is a dove on the top as descending down and on either sides, there are two doves kissing the ends of the cross.53 There is a similar cross at Kottayam Cheriya palli also, on the front of the church, above the archdoor that opens into the portico. Here, instead of two doves on either side, we can see two peacocks on either side.
Above the larger cross of Kottayam valiyapalli also, we can see a similar design, with two peacocks on either side, but that is now hidden in the decorative wood work of the altar.

As the consecration day for the newly built Garland church is fast approaching, we are thinking of more and more ways of “OCCUPYING SYRO-MALABAR CHURCH” through an “Occupy Wall Street-Style” attack to take back the Syro-Malabar Church from the claver fanatics. The latest plan is to boycott the Christmas Carol 2011being adopted by the parishioners of Coppell and Garland. The question they are asking is: “How can they promote Jesus in the Crib whileat the same time reject Jesus on the Crucifix The following story points to the answer.
There once was a family that had a pet dog which had become like a member of the family after almost 30 years of being part of the family. To everybody’s grief, one day the dog died. The family members wanted to bury the dog in their church cemetery. But the priest was unwilling to let them do that. The dad of the house spent several minutes arguing with the priest trying to convince him with no effect. Finally a plan came to his mind. He had heard that the priest would fall for anything for the money. So he told the priest very casually that the Baptist pastor of the church down the street was willing to bury the dog in his Baptist church cemetery for the $5000 that he was willing to The priest suddenly jumped in and asked: “Why didn’t you tell me that your dog is Catholic?” To make a long story short, the family buried the dog in the parish church cemetery and everyone lived happily thereafter.
The situation that currently exists in the Syro-Malabar Church is very similar. Our Bishop Angadiath and Alencherry and their sidekicks want to get rid of all the crucifixes from our churches because they don’t like the “dead body” of Jesus on the Crucifix. But they have no problem with the “dead body” of baby Jesus in the Crib. Not only they don’t have a problem with the baby Jesus but they want to carry it around from house to house as part of the Christmas caroling. It is not hard to find out the reason. They like the money that the Christmas caroling brings in. In other words, for the sake of money they are willing to flip-flop on their theology. What makes this such a big hypocrisy is the fact that they have no problem with placing the idolatrous Mar Thoma Cross in the place of the Crucifix which has no Biblical references at all. But they are unwilling to place the Crucifix which has the strongest Biblical basis than even the birth of the baby Jesus. Rejecting the Crucified Savior while holding on to Baby Jesus is like driving out one’s mama from the house to make room for his girlfriend just because she is more cute. Driving out the Crucifix to make room for the idolatrous ‘Mar Thoma Cross’ in its place is like getting rid of our mom to allow the notorious prostitute in our hometown into our house. What a horrendous crime committed in the name of Chaldeanization of the Syro-Malabar Church!

Under these circumstances, it is time for us to launch an “Occupy Wall Street-Style” attack on our church hierarchy to protest their current policies by boycotting the Christmas caroling even though it has been our tradition all these years. Replacing the Crucified Savior on the Cross with the idolatrous Mar Thoma Cross and promoting the baby Jesus to satisfy the greed of our bishops and priests for money is a disgrace to our Crucified Savior. It is as sinful as Judas betraying Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Therefore this year, I am inviting everyone to boycott the Christmas caroling in droves and send a strong message to Fr. Sasseri in Coppell, Fr. Joji in Garland, Bishop Angadiath in Chicago, Bishop Alencherry in Kerala and every other priest who is pushing the Mar Thoma Cross in the Syro-Malabar Church. It is time that we make it clear to them that we do not support their hypocrisy of pretending that they love Jesus by carrying around the statue of Baby Jesus from house to house while making every effort to throw out the Crucifix calling it a ‘dead body’. Because the body of the Baby Jesus in the crib is as dead as the body of the Crucified Jesus on the Cross which they are throwing out from our churches against the dictates of the Synod and the Pope and also against the command of Jesus whom they are pretending to honor through their Christmas caroling. It is time for us to say “NO” to Christmas Caroling 2011 and expose their hypocrisy.

I didn't know that Pippiladan wrote the Bible and he is high enough to call Apostles by name. Your grant dad will call your dad my name. But will you call your dad by his name?. Will your kids call your or your dad by name?. Your argument that Bible authors called the Apostles by name therefore Pippiladan also can call them by name is the same like saying your grand dad call your dad by name and therefore you and your kids can call him by name. You called me stupid. I will leave it to the readers to decide which is the stupid idea. I don't call anybody stupid. All people say something stupid at one time or other. We need to re-instate crucifix by force in all our churches in USA. A protest march is required in Garland during the Bishops’ church consecration day and let the whole world knew about the atrocities of the Chicago Syro diocese to her own faithful by the SMC-Chicago Bishops and his crooks.
We do not want to go anywhere outside, we are Catholics and we are determined to remove the dirt from our church. That is the ICON of strength in our weakness, THAT IS OUR CRUCIFIX only.
Now church became a place for business, a place for cultural gathering, a political movement in the name GOD and we make many dead souls and elevate them to saints and finally invite all creations to the Altar and throw away and deny the creator and we grow unto a stage of preaching CRUCIFX as a dead body! NOW THINK OURSELVES, THEN STOP THE CHURCH PAYMENT, DENY THE DIOCESAN APPEAL THIS YEAR, BOYCOTT THE CAROL THIS YEAR; ALL THESE TO MAKE $$$$ MONEY ONLY; GOD NEVER EVER NEED ANY MONEY FROM US. OUR LORD NEEDS OUR COMPLETE SUBMISSION AND WE NEED TO ACCEPT THE LORD ALONE AS OUR PERSONAL SAVIOR. BECAUSE OF HIS DEATH ON THE CROSS AND THROUGH HIS BLOOD WE ARE HEALED.
