Please remove the VEIL and Mar-Thoma cross from the altar and restore the Crucifix and restore the divinity of the Syro Malabar Catholic Church. Please be a part of solutions and be proactive for the growth of the Syro Malabar church and unite the faithful.
It is your call, please act, inaction is not an option.
PLEASE REMOVE THE VEIL AND INSTALL CRUCIFIX IN ITS FULL HOLY STATUS.

Whoever is trying to criticize Mr. Tom Varkey should understand one thing about him. Tom is one courageous man with guts! Those of you who do not know him can simply sit and mourn! Most of you (most Malayalee men are) are afraid of your own wife...Tom Varkey is "fearless" but he is not arrogant like majority of the Malayalees or Malayalee Priests in SYM Church in US. He will do demonstrations in a peaceful way. If you talk to him you will understand that he is a very straight forward and honest person. How many of our Priests do tell the truth all the time? Do you think they tell you the truth even when they wear the vestments? They tell the partial truth so that they can manipulate the community according to their agenda. How many of us tell the truth all the time? Do we even tell the truth to our own children?
Probably 95% of the SYM Catholics in USA want crucifix in the altar and do not want the Manikkeyan Cross anywhere in the church. But do we have the guts to even write a personal letter to our own priest? Do we have the guts to write to the Pope? No...because we are busy with so many other things... But we enjoy the crucifix if "men" like Tom Vakey fight for it and get it for us!!! You don't have to support him. With or without your support Tom Varkey will do the right thing (not the "right thing to do"). The least you can do for him is to pray for him! He will appreciate that. God will appreciate it too!
Rather than criticizing him; try to be a "man" and learn the basic lessons from Mr. Tom Varkey. Do you have the guts to stand up for what you believe? Well; Tom Varkey does have it....and he will do it in a civilized way. Please leave him alone but pray for him...

Our bishop is here for his comfort and not for the spritual well being of his sheep and he and Roy Kaduppil is here for finacial gain as well as comfort. Constructive criticism is required for the spiritual growth of the church. The faithful comprises the church and Bishop is the one who lead that community to the right spiritual direction and he should not surrender himself to the evil influences of the world. Proclaim the glory of Jesus and his mighty Holy Cross and restore crucifix in all churches and remove all the bad elements (Mar Thoma Cross and VIRI) from the Altar of all US Syro Malabar churches and unite the faithful.

Whosoever attending the Syro Malabar Synod in Kerala and representing the almayans from USA are the real pearls of the church. If a faithful ever argue for the crucifix then his judgment on the crucifix nullify all his opposition. They stand for the truth. Nobody can compare a Crucifix with a mar-thoma cross. Mar thoma cross is the dead symbol of faith.

1. Serving beer/vine in Garland church when he was presiding the party in 2007
2.Bishop personally cashing a check of $10,000.00 from compass bank in garland church which was mission Sunday collection from garland church (Why he need that much cash in hand?)
3. Buying Chicago office building for $875,000.00 and selling it back for $125,000.00(someone made some easy money)
4. Not to forget Abortion issue in garland church......and so on
Please call Kakkanad Synod and then request to connect the curia chancellor and Curio Bishop and launch your verbal complaint.

catholic church doesn't ask you to do that except on good friday. we venerate the cross. even when we see the bishops and priests and everyone else bow their head at the center of the church, if any they do it to the cross that is not right. they do it and they are supposed to be doing it to the blessed sacrament in the tubernacle. but it has become a habit for all of us to bow in the center even if the tubenacle is located in the side. that is not right. crusifix is just like a picture of your deceased dear ones...a reminder of the Jesus on the cross. but the most important thing in the church is the blessed sacrament. not the cross. if you don't pay your respect to the blessed sacrament and if you are focused on the cross...dear friend you are going through the wrong route. crosses and statues are supposed to be helping your devotion. not we being devouted to them. they are replicas but blessed sacrament is real that is what catholic church teaches. you will find thousands of crosses and statues for sale every where but not the blessed sacrament.

when we sing sarvadhipanam karthave ninne vanagi namikkunnu.. we are supposed to be bow our heads to the jesus in the tubernacle not at the cross whether it is the crss with jesus or lotus.

The mass was instantiated on last supper by Jesus himself by saying to his disciple do this in memory of me.
We all Catholics know this much, during the mass the host will become the body and the wine will become the blood of Jesus and that is Eucharist we all receive during mass.
We did not say we are worshiping crucifix, when we see crucifix we all can remember the sacrifices Jesus made for all of us that is giving his own life by crucifixion to save us. With this ultimate sacrifice of Jesus in mind we are better prepared to receive Jesus body in the form of the Eucharist.

The Council declared that Jesus instituted the Mass at his Last Supper: "He offered up to God the Father His own body and blood under the species of bread and wine; and, under the symbols of those same things, He delivered (His own body and blood) to be received by His apostles, whom He then constituted priests of the New Testament; and by those words, Do this in commemoration of me, He commanded them and their successors in the priesthood, to offer (them); even as the Catholic Church has always understood and taught."
The Catholic Church sees the Mass as the most perfect way it has to offer latria (adoration) to God.
The Church believes that "The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it."
It is also Catholic belief that in objective reality, not merely symbolically, the wheaten bread and grape wine are converted into Christ's body and blood, a conversion referred to as transubstantiation, so that the whole Christ, body and blood, soul and divinity, is truly, really, and substantially contained in the sacrament of the Eucharist.
With crucifix in the alter the whole picture about real mass will be clear to us all.
This why we say we want to see only Crucifix in the alter all the time nothing else.

To add to Part 2 of the Mass
The Holy mass is also the source and summit of christian life.
All other sacraments lead us to the life of christ where as Eucharist give us the life of Christ.
Holy mass is also called as the sacrament of the sacraments.
What is Eucharistic Adoration? Catholics believe that during the Mass which we attend each week (for some of us daily), the priest (during the consecration) speaks these words as he holds the communion host, "...He took bread and gave you thanks. He broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said: Take this all of you, and eat it: this is my body which will be given up for you". When the priest says "this my body", it is at that instant when, through the miracle of transubstantiation, the bread and wine which we offer as the bloodless sacrifice to our Lord truly become the Body, Blood , Soul and Divinity of Jesus. It is His true Presence in the form of bread and wine. It is Christ.
Perpetual Adoration is when the priest takes a consecrated host, such as the one described above, and places it in a monstrance. (monstrance comes from the Latin "monstrare" to show, to expose to view.) The monstrance is then placed in front of the tabernackle (an ornate box which holds the monstrance and any consecrated hosts) or on the altar of the church or chapel for adoration.
What do you actually do during adoration? You may sign up to be an "adorer" which allows you to schedule yourself for one or more hours per week to pray before the very presence of Our Lord, exposed in the monstrance. It means that you can have some time alone with Jesus to recite your favorite prayers, read the bible, contemplate acts of faith, hope, charity, thanksgiving, reparation, pray a rosary or do whatever type of prayerful devotion that suits you before Our Lord. You can just sit and say nothing simply keeping Him company, just as you would with a dear friend.

but you are going off from the subject
the point i am trying to bring is that blessed sacrament is the one and only thing in the church that is worthy of worshiping or adoration. holy mass is the center part of the catholic worship where the process of bread and wine turns into body and blood of christ. cross and statues are decorations and reminders only. they don't require worships but only respect.

Jesus said, "...this is my body which will be given up for you...". Where did that giving up take place? On the cross, isn't it? He died on the cross, didn't he? I don't see anywhere in the Bible that Jesus went into the wafer after saying "this is my body which will be given up for you".

the blessed sacrament is not just a wafer. if you belive in the catholic teaching after the mass it is not a wafer but the real body of the christ. real means real, not replica like a statue. that is jesus by faith. you don't need no cross in the church. even if you put 1000 crosses in the church the presense of jesus will be there only through that so called wafer. if you are not a catholic you can just call it a wafer. go and bend your knees before the blessed sacrament and ask for His mercy on you and your family for your ignorance. you can despise a statue or cross because they are replicas. but jesus is real in the blessed sacrament. that is the center part of the catholic life. holy mass is the procedure where the water becomes jesus.

We have a very serious problem in Chicago, there is an unwanted cross in the Altar, that is the so called the mar-thoma cross. Why we need to elevate a man made creation to the level of creator and confuses the faithful and deviate them to another pegan stream. You came to the conclusion that since there’s cross on it, you accept the mar-thoma cross and equate to the crucifix? There are so many crosses floating around the world including a satanic cross and if you visit you local cemetery you can witness a couple of them. Even one of the oldest Asian (Indian sub continent once called BHART which were extended unto Burma and Malaysia) Swastika {su-asti-ka meaning to be good} also has a cross symbol on it. The same swastika (the Nazi symbol is also swastika) used to kill millions during Nazi`s time.
Again you mention that mar-thoma cross is historic? Yes, it is a historic cross; which has divided the church; it eliminated and rooted out faith from the entire Middle East which includes its origin country IRAQ, IRAN, AFGHANISTAN, PAKISTAN, ALL ARAB COUNTRIES, and TURKY ETC. Because of the satanic and evil influence of this pagan cross, we in India failed to reach out Christ until 1900s; the church failed outreach and expand beyond Bhrata Puzha in Kerala until 1900s and still fighting for its survival.

In the old days there used to be a sacrifical lamb. Those who assembled to pray and participate in the sacrifice completed their participation by eating the sacrificial meal.
In the last supper Jesus used bread and wine. He said he is the sacrificial lamb, and his life will be given in place of a lamb. His desciples ate the bread and completed the symbolic sacrifice. When we do that in his memory, we should be thinking of the real sacrifice that took place shortly after the last supper of Jesus. That is what He wants us to do in his memory - remember him, and he sacrificing himself for us.
