Chicago: Change is coming. That is what we hear. Chicago and some other Syro-Malabar parishes in the US will see new pastors.
Bishop Angadiyath who was the main celebrant of the 11 O'clock mass here introduced Fr. Taddeusz Aravindath, who will be working for the Chicago diocese. He will be the pastor of Rockland County parish in New York, we were told by the bishop. Fr. Aravindath, a diocesan priest from Ernakulam diocese is a welcome change from our Bishop's regular imports from Palai-Changanacherry or MST. How loyal this Fr. Aravindath is to the traditions of the Ernakulam Diocese, is something we will be closely watching, especially he, being the lyricist for the most popular Liturgical Music currently in use in the Holy Mass.
Meanwhile horsetrading has already started in regards to the possible replacement of Fr. Antony Thundathil. Details are coming to light gradually. There are different factions jockeying for the upper hand. Our church scene is irreparably politicized, is the greatest legacy of our bishop. Nothing is safe from political or factional interference by self-interest groups. It seems no priest is strong enough to withstand the pressure from them.

"നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കുല്ലതെല്ലാം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുവിന്‍ " എന്ന ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ആഹ്വാനം നമ്മുടെ മെത്രാന്മാരുടെ ചെവികളില്‍ ഇന്ന് പാറയില്‍ വിതച്ച വിത്ത്‌ പോലെയാണ്.
ജീവിതം മുഴുവന്‍ സഹിച്ചും, ക്ഷമിച്ചും, രക്ത സാക്ഷികളായും നമ്മുടെ പുണ്യവാന്മാര്‍ നേടിയെടുത്ത വിശുദ്ധിയെ വിറ്റ് പണമുണ്ടാക്കുകയല്ലേ ഇന്നത്തെ നമ്മുടെ മെത്രാന്മാരും പുരോഹിതരും ചെയ്യുന്നത്?

who is going to voice for Syro Americans in Synod ?? has almayan any voice..I really appreciate all these articles but not those blemishes..we need to be together as one 'koottam' whether we are led from the front or back..personally I prefer to be lead from front...we need to make ONE DEMAND that priests from Kerala should go back after three years,and ONE RESOLVE that we will not spoil them as MUDIYANAYA PUTHRANMAR. They are blaming poor parishoners as prodigal sons just because they have that 'apramadithwam' on the top of their voice during sermons and announcements....they are acting as rulers from central Tranvancore with an idiotic theory of cross and veil..one need to be extremely careful with women at homes; they are brainwashed by these SYRO DUSTATMAKKAL ....be careful
