ചിക്കാഗോ: ആന്റണിയച്ചന്‍ ആള്‍ ഗൌരവത്തിലാണ്. CCD കുട്ടികള്‍ കുര്‍ബാന സമയം പള്ളിപ്പരിസരത്ത് കറങ്ങി നടക്കുന്നതിനെതിരെ അച്ഛന്‍ വളരെ ശക്തമായ നിലപാട് എടുത്തിരിക്കുകയാണ്.
ഇക്കാര്യം അച്ഛന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞ ഞായരാഴ്ചാ ജനങ്ങളെ ഓര്‍മ്മിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഇന്ന് കുര്‍ബാനയ്ക്ക് മുമ്പ് കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാം മാതാപിതാക്കളെ വിട്ട്‌ പള്ളിയുടെ മുന്‍ നിരയിലേക്ക് കയറിയിരിക്കുവാന്‍ അച്ഛന്‍ വിളിച്ച് പറഞ്ഞു.
നല്ല കാര്യം. അച്ചന്‍റെ ഈ നടപടിയോട് ഞങ്ങള്‍ തികച്ചും യോചിക്കുന്നു. കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍ കുര്‍ബാന കാണാതെ പള്ളിപ്പരിസരത്ത് കറങ്ങി നടക്കരുത്. കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍ എന്ന് മാത്രമല്ല, മുതിര്‍ന്നവരും. അതുപോലെ തന്നെ, അച്ഛന്‍ പറഞ്ഞത് പോലെ നേരം വൈകി കുര്‍ബാനയ്ക്ക് കയറിവരുന്ന പതിവും നല്ലതല്ല. പൊതു ജനങ്ങളെ വിട്, പോട്ടെ എന്ന് വയ്ക്കാം. ഈ ലേഖകള്‍ ഒരു കാര്യം നോട്ട് ചയ്തു. ഇന്ന് കൊയറില്‍ പോലും ഒന്നു രണ്ട്‌ പേര്‍ വൈകിയാണ് വന്നു കയറിയത്. അതില്‍ ഒന്നു ലീഡര്‍ ന്‍റെ ഭാര്യ സൂസന് .
(സൂസനെ പറ്റി പറയുമ്പോള്‍, കഴിഞ്ഞ രണ്ട്‌ മൂന്നാഴ്ച അവര്‍ മുങ്ങിയിരിക്കയായിരുന്നു. അതിന് മുമ്പിലെ ആഴ്ചയിലെ കാറലില്‍ തൊണ്ട കേടായിട്ടാണോ, അച്ഛന്‍ അടങ്ങാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞിടാണോ, ലീഡര്‍ കടിഞ്ഞാണി ട്ടിട്ടാണോ എന്നറിയില്ല. ഏതായാലും ഇന്ന് രണ്ട്‌ മൂന്ന് പാട്ടുകള്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ സൂസന് കുണുങ്ങി ക്കുണുങ്ങി കൊയര്‍ മുക്കിലേക്ക്‌ എഞ്ഞു കയറി. അതോടെ ലീഡര്‍ തന്‍റെ മൈക്ക് ഭാര്യക്ക് അടിയറ വച്ചു തന്‍റെ പതിവ് പണി ആരംഭിച്ചു. അതായത് ഒരു കാര്യവുമില്ലാതെ കൂട്ടിലടച്ച വെരുകിനെപ്പോലെ ഓടി നടക്കുക. ഏതായാലും ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പറയാന്‍ ഇത്രയേ യുള്ളൂ. കൊച്ചു കുട്ടികളുടെ കാര്യത്തില്‍ ഇത്ര ശുഷ്കാന്തി കാണിക്കുന്ന വികാരിയച്ചന്‍ കൊയറിലും കൂടി കൂടി ഇത് കര്‍ശനമാക്കണം. അതുപോലെതെന്നെ കൊയറില്‍ കയറി നിന്നു അലറി വിളിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്ക് അല്‍പ്പമെങ്കിലും പാടാന്‍ കഴിവുണ്ടെന്ന് ഉറപ്പ് വരുത്തിയാല്‍ അത്‌ പൊതു ജനങ്ങളോട് ചെയ്യുന്ന വലിയൊരു ഉപകാരമായിരിക്കും )
പ്രസംഗം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ കാര്‍മ്മികന്‍ മറ്റൊരു announcement . പിറകില്‍ മാതാപിതാക്കളോട് ഒപ്പവും ബാല്‍ക്കണിയിലും ഇരിക്കുന്ന CCD കുട്ടികള്‍ മുന്‍ നിരകളിലേക്ക് കയറിയിരിക്കണം. ഇത് പറഞ്ഞപാടെ വികാരിയും അല്ലറ ചില്ലറ CCD ടീച്ചര്‍ മാരും DRE മൂലയില്‍ പാപ്പാനും പട്ടിപിടുത്തക്കാരെപ്പോലെ ജനങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലേക്ക് ഇറങ്ങി. പിള്ളേരെ മുന്നോട്ടു പായിച്ചു. ഒറ്റപ്പൈസ സൈസ് ഒന്നാം ക്ലാസ്സുകാരും മീശു കിളുത്ത കൊച്ചേട്ടന്‍ മാരും, സാല്‍വാര്‍ കമീസിട്ട സുന്ദരിക്കോതകളും ഒക്കെ ഇക്കൂട്ടത്തില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. CCD യുടെ എന്തോ മേനോക്കിയായ നമ്മുടെ നായിക, ഗാനകോകിലം സൂസന് കൊയര്‍ മൂലയില്‍ നിന്നും രണ്ട്‌ കയ്യും കാലും പൊക്കി പിള്ളേരോട് താഴെ ഇറങ്ങി വരാന്‍ ആംഗ്യം കാട്ടുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
മേല്‍പ്പറഞ്ഞ ഈ പ്രഹസനം ഏതായാലും കുര്‍ബാനയുടെ സമയത്ത് കാണിക്കേണ്ട ആവശ്യമില്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നാണ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ അഭിപ്രായം. മാത്രമല്ല, മംഗ്ലീഷ് കുര്‍ബാനയില്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കാന്‍ തയ്യാറാകാത്ത കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ അനാവശ്യമായി ഹരാസ് ചെയ്യാന്‍ കണക്കു കൂട്ടിയുള്ള ഒരു നീക്കമാണോ ഇത് എന്നും ഞങ്ങള്‍ സംശയിക്കുന്നു. കാരണം പല മാതാപിതാക്കളും തങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ മംഗ്ലീഷ് കുര്‍ബാനയ്ക്ക് വിടുവാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല. അതില്‍ അധികാരികള്‍ അത്ര സന്തുഷ്ടരല്ല എന്നത് അങ്ങാടിപ്പാട്ടാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളുടെ മലയാളം കുര്ബാനക്കാര്യത്തില്‍ അധികാരികള്‍ കാട്ടുന്ന ഈ പുതുപുത്തന്‍ ഉഷാര്‍ അല്‍പ്പം സംശയ ദ്രിഷ്ടിയോടെയാണ് ഞങ്ങള്‍ വീക്ഷിക്കുന്നത്.
കുര്‍ബാന കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ കാര്‍മ്മികന്റെ ഒരു വീതവും കിട്ടി പൊതു ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക്‌. കൊച്ചച്ചന്‍ പൊതുജനങ്ങളെ കൊച്ചാക്കുകയായിരുന്നില്ലേ എന്ന് കാപ്പി സ്ഥലത്ത് പൊതുവേ ഒരു മുറുമുറുപ്പ് കേട്ടു. ഞങ്ങള്‍ കൊച്ചച്ചനെ തല്‍ക്കാലം വിമര്‍ശിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്ന് തീരുമാനിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് വിമര്‍ശിക്കുന്നില്ല. എന്നാലും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍റെ നന്മയെ ഓര്‍ത്ത് കേട്ടകാര്യം പറയുന്നു എന്ന് മാത്രം. കൊച്ചച്ചന്‍ ആളിത്തിരി അരഗന്റ്റ് ആണെന്ന് ഒരു ചേടത്തി മറ്റൊരു ചേടത്തിയോടു പറയുന്നത് ഇത്തമ്മ കേട്ടു. ചെറുപ്പത്തിന്റെ ചോരത്തിളപ്പായിരിക്കും എന്നാണ് ഇത്ത പറയുന്നത്. അവളെന്റെ വായില്‍ എത്ര കോലിട്ടു കുത്തിയാലും തല്‍ക്കാലം നമ്മുടെ കൊച്ചച്ചനെപ്പറ്റി ക മ എന്നൊരക്ഷരം പറയാന്‍ ഞാനില്ല. പാര്‍ക്കലാം.
കാപ്പി കുടിക്കുന്നിടം കാളച്ഛന്ത പോലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ചാള അടക്കിയ പോലെ ജനങ്ങള്‍. ലേലം വിളി ഒരിടത്ത്. മറ്റൊരിടത്ത് ഒരു കൂട്ടം സ്ത്രീജനങ്ങള്‍ ജനങ്ങളെ ഓടിച്ചിട്ട്‌ പിടിച്ചു ബോണ്ടയും പഴം പൊരിയും തൊണ്ടയില്‍ തല്ലിക്കയറ്റാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു. വേറൊരു സ്ഥലത്ത് ഓര്‍ത്തോ ഡോക്സ്പള്ളിക്കാര്‍ ഗാനമേള ടിക്കറ്റ്‌ പോക്കറ്റില്‍ തള്ളിക്കെട്ടാന്‍ കിണഞ്ഞു പരിശ്രമിക്കുന്നു. കാപ്പിയും ചായയും ഓരോ പാത്രത്തില്‍ മാത്രം. ജീവിതത്തില്‍ കാപ്പി വെള്ളം കാണാത്ത പഞ്ഞ വാസികലെപ്പോലെ ജനങ്ങള്‍ കാപ്പിക്കുവേണ്ടി ഇടിച്ചു കയറുന്നു. അത്‌ കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍ പാക്കിസ്ഥാനിലെ വെള്ളപ്പൊക്ക കേടുതിയെ ഓര്‍മ്മ വന്നു.
ഓ, ലേലം വിളിയുടെ കാര്യം പറഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ മറ്റൊരു കാര്യം കൂടി. വിന്‍സെന്റ് ഡീ പോള്‍ സഖ്യത്തിനെ ഇനിമുതല്‍ ലേലം വിളി പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ നിന്നും അച്ഛന്‍ ഒഴിവാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. . കാരണം അവര്‍ ഇങ്ങനെ സംഹരിക്കുന്ന പൈസ വെറും പാവങ്ങള്‍ക്കു കൊടുത്തു വേസ്റ്റ് ആക്കുന്നുവത്രേ. അത്‌ വല്ല നല്ല കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ഉപയോഗിക്കരുതോ എന്നാണ് അധികാരികളുടെ ചോദ്യം. അതുകൊണ്ട് ലേലം വിളിക്കുള്ള അവകാശം ഇനി CML ന് മാത്രം. എന്നാലെ മെത്രാസനത്തിലേക്ക് പൈസ ഒഴുകുകയുള്ളൂ എന്നാണ് വിസേന്റ്റ് ഡീ പോളിന്റെ പഴയ ലേലം വിളിക്കാരന്റെ ഭാഷ്യം.

Fr. Mathew Sasseril is too new to know about the real feelings of people in Chicago. He needs to Cool down and learn the difficulties and real feelings of the people in Chicago. !!. Hope what happened to Fr. Jonsti does not happen to him!
At least Fr.Antony starts doing something good for the community.
Chicago is one of the under educated malayally community in USA. Maintaining and enforcing discipline in our church is a requirement and it is over due in SMC-Chicago.
I hope Fr. Antony will look into the Cathedral Altar and try to keep the Altar little more look holy and beautiful by removing the bad elements and circus tent from the church. If he is a man with essence then the Vicar supposed to initiate to that direction also.

Have you thought about why our leaders always talk about discipline? Make you wear similar dress on special occasions and ask you not wear some style dress? Uniformity is unity?. NO.
The idea is to control you just like in an elementary or middle school where you follow the teachers and the rules. Lets not stay in the same class and standard all our lives. Speak up or you will not get a second chance to protest or talk against major issues making our church a place of worship of the devil and not the crucified Jesus.
Depipline has to come from becoming a deciple of Jesus. Not by following the greedy leaders and poiticians.Enforced decipline is not what we need.
This is not communist china. We are the citizens of world's best democaratic united states.
Hi Folks, As somebody said we R not at all intrested in Church Choir silly things. I cant totally agree with Antony achan regarding seating kids in front. Kids has to be with the parents during the Holy Mass. I attend to every sundy Mass but I seen most of the kids are inside the church during Holy Mass. I don't know achan's are making big deal of this. We R bringing our kids to Syro Malabar Church not only for parents to socialise but also our kids too. Where is the time for that for kids. We can't be strict as we did @ kerala in our childhooddoesn't means that we have to allow all freedome. Campare to latin ( English) church sunday school our sunday school are boring. First of all kids do not want to go to Syromalabar Church for Sunday school. Getting too strict with Church policies the kids hate to go to SMC. If you look @ the latin Churches here all the policies are very liberalised still their members are getting very low. Another thing is lack of parking, nobody wants to get any parking violation ticket. Before the church impliment all the strict rules and laws to parish members, they have to satisfy all parishners basic needs that include parking. If there is no parish members no church can exist

Hi Folks, I want to bring up some issues about our Syromalabar Holy Mass in English as well as Religious Education. First of all English Mass is very long for all ages of kids to attend.
2. It is very complicated to understand for kids. You might have found increase in lack of participation.
.3. It cut down our kids time from socializing with other kids. As we know there are many parents bringing their kids from very far distance, just to mingle with or socialize with other Syromalabar kids with the Religious Education.
Definitely we have to give at least 45 minutes to 1 Hour for our kids to socialize with other kids. Have them play, talk or joke. If these kids hate to come to Syromalabar Church there is no future for our SMC . Most important thing is who is going to carry over the debt or mortgage of this Church.
4. Most of the Malayalee priests in this country don’t know, how hard the life in USA with kids with tight schedule of job. We all came to USA for better future and God gave us all the blessings.
Of course Jesus and Church should come first before any thing else, but we have to provide chances for our kids to mingle with other kids. Recently I heard from somebody that Chicago Diocese is the first trial & Error place to introduce any new prayers which they don’t even try in Kerala Diocese. R we guinea pigs to do the experiments ? Our time has no value?.
Our Church is a place for social gathering too. We wish or want our kids to marry from Syromalabar community. They have to know each other. They have to know our traditions, culture sharing information’s and all kinds of things. We want all members of our community to know each other doesn’t matter poor or rich, north or south, west or east.
Look @ the Knanaya Community they know each other and they R together for all vital needs. That is their strength. We don’t have to fight for silly things for no reasons, but we have to fight for our kids Rights and their Future.
