ബിഷപ്‌ അങ്ങാടിയത്തിനെയും ഫാ. ജോജിയെയും സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം ഗാര്‍ ലാന്ഡ് ഉയിര്‍പ്പ് തിരുനാള്‍ കെങ്കേമമായിരുന്നു. പൊതു ജനങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ട് അവര്‍ അവിടെ സാക്ഷാല്‍ മാര്‍ത്തോമാ മരക്കുരിശു തന്നെ മുത്തിച്ചു എന്നാണറിവ്. ഓശാന ഞായറാഴ്ച പൊതുയോഗം കൂടി നാറിപ്പോയ ഫാ ജോജി അങ്ങനെ ജനങ്ങളെ മരത്തടി മുത്തിച്ചു പകരം വീട്ടി.
എന്നാല്‍ ഭക്തജനങ്ങള്‍ അത്ര ഹാപ്പി അല്ല എന്നാണു ഞങ്ങള്‍ മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നത്. ഫാ ജോജിയെയും മാറ്റ് കല്‍ദായ ഭ്രാന്തന്മേരെയും എങ്ങനെ തടിക്കിടണമെന്ന് ആലോചിക്കാനായി അവര്‍ അടിയന്തിര യോഗം കൂടിക്കഴിഞ്ഞു എന്ന് പറയപ്പെടുന്നു.
ഇതിനിടക്ക്‌ കൊപ്പെളില്‍ മറ്റൊരു വിശേഷം. അവിടെ ഫാ. വര്‍ഗീസിന് വാര്‍ധക്യ സഹജമായ ക്ലാവര് രോഗം ബാധിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്.
അവിടെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനായി പണിയുന്ന താമസമുറികളുടെ പണി കഴിഞ്ഞു. ജോബി ശ്ലാഘനീയമായ ഒരു മഹാ സേവനമാണ് ഇക്കാര്യത്തില്‍ കാഴ്ച വച്ചത്. ഈസ്റ്റര് കുര്‍ബാന കഴിഞ്ഞാണ് അതിന്‍റെ വെഞ്ചരിപ്പു കര്‍മ്മ നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്നത്. അതനുസരിച്ച് വെഞ്ചരിപ്പിനു മുമ്പായി ഫാ. ഒരു എട്ടിഞ്ച് കുട്ടി ക്ലാവറിനെ ഫാ വര്ഗീസ് തന്‍റെ മേശപ്പുറത്തു സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ അദ്ദേഹം കുര്‍ബാന ചൊല്ലിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്ന സമയം ആരോ അതെടുത്തു ചവറ്റു കൊട്ടയില്‍ തള്ളി. പകരം സന്ദര്‍ശന മുറിയിലും അച്ഛന്‍റെ മുറിയിലും ബിഷപ്പിന് വല്ലപ്പോഴും ഒന്ന് തല ചായ്ക്കാന്‍ പണിതിരിക്കുന്ന അതിഥി മുറിയിലും തലയ്ക്ക ഭാഗത്ത് തന്നെ ഓരോ ക്രൂശിത രൂപം അവര്‍ ഭദ്രമായി തൂക്കി. മുറി വെഞ്ചരിക്കാന്‍ എത്തിയ ഫാ. വര്ഗീസ് ക്രൂശിതരൂപം കണ്ടതോടെ മാനിയുടെ പ്രേതം ബാധിച്ചപോലെ വിറക്കാന്‍ തുടങ്ങി.
ഈസ്റ്റര് സന്ദേശം നല്‍കിയ ദേശാടനക്കിളിയച്ചന്‍ പറഞ്ഞ ദൈവദോഷം ഒട്ടേറെ ഭക്തരെ ചൊടിപ്പിച്ചു. ജഡീഷിന്റെ അളിയനായ ഈ വിരുതന്‍ കത്തനാര് ആ മനുഷ്യനെ കോപ്പെലില്‍ ആകെ നാറ്റിച്ചു എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ മതിയല്ലോ. "ക്രിസ്തുവിന്‍റെ ഉദ്ധാനത്തിനു മുമ്പുള്ള മറ്റെല്ലാം ഉപ്പിട്ട് കുപ്പിയില്‍ വച്ചാല്‍ മതി" എന്നാണു അദ്ദേഹം തന്‍റെ പ്രസംഗത്തില്‍ പറഞ്ഞത്. സ്നേഹ വിരുന്നിന്‍റെ സമയത്ത് ഈ വിശിഷ അച്ചാറിനെപ്പറ്റി ജനങ്ങളില്‍ പലരും അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് സംശയം ചോദിച്ചു. അതില്‍ ഒരാളായ പഴയ ഒരു കൈക്കാരനെ "കോപ്പാ" എന്നാ ഓമനപ്പേരില്‍ ഫാ. വര്ഗീസ് ചീത്ത വിളിച്ചു.
പണ്ട് കള്ളുകുടിയന്‍ സാജുവിനെ ഡാഷ് മോന്‍ എന്ന് സ്നേഹപൂര്‍വ്വം അഭിസംബോധന ചെയ്ത ഫാ. സജിക്ക് പറ്റിയത് അറിയാമല്ലോ. അങ്ങാടിയത്ത് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ മുക്രയിടിയിച്ചു സാജുവിന്റെ വീട്ടില്‍ പോയി ക്ഷമയാചിപ്പിച്ചു. അത് വച്ച് തട്ടിച്ചു നോക്കിയാല്‍ എന്ത്ശിക്ഷയാണോ മാര്‍ അങ്ങാടിയത്ത് ഫാ. വര്‍ഗീസിന് കൊടുക്കാന്‍ പോകുന്നത്.
ചിക്കാഗോ ഇടവകക്കാര്‍ക്ക് ക്ലാവര് മുത്തേണ്ട ഗതികേട് ഏതായാലും വന്നില്ല. അല്ത്താരയില്‍ പ്രതിഷ്ടിച്ചിരുന്ന ക്രൂശിത രൂപം തന്നെ ഇളക്കിയെടുത്തു ജനങ്ങളെ മുത്തിച്ചു. ആ പേരുപറഞ്ഞു ക്രൂശിത രൂപം അവിടെ നിന്നും എന്നന്നേക്കുമായി എടുത്തു മാറ്റുമോ എന്നാണു ഈയുള്ളവന്‍റെ ഭയം.

കുബ്ബാസാരിച്ചവന്‍ അച്ഛനോട് കുബ്ബാസാരത്തില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു, അച്ഛോ, ഞാന്‍ ദൈവത്തിനുവേണ്ടി പല അച്ഛന്‍മാരുമായി വഴക്ക് കൂടിയെന്ന്!
കുബ്ബാസാരിച്ച അച്ഛന് പറഞ്ഞു, ദൈവത്തിന് നിന്‍റെ ആവശൃമില്ല. ഒന്ന് ചിന്തിച്ച് നോക്കേ സഹോദരിസഹോദരന്‍മാരെ, എന്നിട്ടാണോ ദൈവം 99 ആടുകളെ വിട്ടട്ട് വഴിതെറ്റിപോയ ഒരു ആടിനേ തേടിപോയത്!
കുബ്ബാസാരിച്ച അച്ഛന് വീണ്ടം അവനോട് പറഞ്ഞു, നിനക്കുവേണ്ടിട്ടാണെങ്കില് കുഴപ്പമില്ല. അപ്പോള്‍ അവന് അച്ഛനോട് പറഞ്ഞു ഇനിക്ക് വേണ്ടിട്ടാണ് എന്ന് അവന് അച്ഛനോട് പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള്‍ അവന് അച്ഛനോട് പറഞ്ഞു, നീ selfish ആണ് എന്ന് എന്ന്! അപ്പോള്‍ അവന് അച്ഛനോട് പറഞ്ഞു, കുബ്ബാസാരത്തില്‍ പറഞ്ഞ കാരൃത്തില്‍ ഉരുണ്ടു കളിക്കാണോ എന്ന്. ഇതിന്‍റെ ഇടക്ക് അച്ഛന് അവനോട് മറ്റോരു കാരൃം പറഞ്ഞതും ഞങ്ങളില്‍ പലവരും അറിഞ്ഞു,

Crucifix of Jesus is an eternal truth. But Manichean/Marthoma cross is a suspecious half truth with theological and historic errors.
Marthomma ( Manichaen ) cross was not designed by St.Thomas .
It is designed and modified over the years and place by the Gnostic called Mani and the Nestorians.
The writings on the cross found in India is in Pahlavi language (Persian), which is neither the language spoken by St. Thomas nor the local language (Tamil). The decoding of the language on the cross speaks about Mani’s philosophy and origin, the dove bringing pure light into this world.
Similar crosses have been found in middle east, China, SriLanka other parts of India with variations (some with lotus only etc.) . St.Thomas couldnot have designed each of them in those countries. Historians recognize them as persian crosses and often classified as Nestorian or Gnostic(Manichean).
If you read the book called the ‘acts of St.Thomas’, we realize that it is not written by St.Thomas but by the group of ‘Gnostics’ (in effect the enemies of Christianity). But the cunning Gnostics gave St.Thomas’ name for getting publicity.
Similarly ‘Marthomma cross’ was also designed by Gnostics/Manichean and gave St.Thomas’ name for a wrong teaching.
Jesus gave the authority to teach to St.peter which was transferred through the popes. Will St.Thomas teach something different than what St.Peter taught and is being taught in universal catholic church. Won't St.Thomas prefer a unified church of Jesus, "One shepherd and one flock". Aren't we bit over reacting in the pretext of our own eastern church identity etc... like what the sons of Zabadee wanted.... especially when Christianity is being persecuted...

If Fr.Verghese said it, it is very very serious. This is a sign of things to come. They plan to carve out a group of people from catholic church and start a sect of their own. The leaders of that sect will have money, and power to control.
See how cheap respectable people can act when they are greedy for power, money, and desire to control.
Serving Jesus is not their plan.

Like a master politician, once again Fr. Joji has manipulated the parishioners of Garland using His Easter message on Saturday. He told the parishioners that “the resurrection is the foundation of our faith” in order to score points for his Claver Cross. Saying that the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith is like saying that the fire descending on the altar of Elijah was the foundation of Elijah’s faith. His faith came first and God approved and confirmed Elijah’s faith by sending fire from heaven on the altar Elijah built. Elijah was not rewarded for God sending fire from heaven but for the faith that he placed in God which prompted him to challenge the prophets of the false god Baal. His faith would not have been convincing to the prophets of Baal or the pagans who did not believe in Jehovah, the true God if God had not confirmed it by sending fire. But Elijah’s faith was not based on God sending fire on the altar even though this was part of his faith. He was taken up to heaven in a chariot of fire as we read in 2 Kings 2:11 as a reward for his faith in God which he had before the fire ever descended on the altar.
I do not believe that Fr. Joji truly believed in what he was saying to the parishioners of Garland when he made the above statement to them during the Easter service. But in order to mesmerize the minds and hearts of the parishioners in favor of his claver idol, being the master manipulator that he is, one should not be surprised at all that he made such a statement. By now, we know that the claver maniacs in the Syro-Malabar Church utilize every opportunity to highlight the Mar Thoma Cross even to the point of making false statements. The erroneous statement that he made in his Easter message pales in comparison to the claim being made by Powathil and his followers about the Mar Thoma Cross that it was found at the tomb of St. Thomas.
Fr. Joji’s manipulation to score brownie points for his claver cross did not end with his interjecting that the foundation of our faith is the resurrection of Jesus instead of the suffering and death of Jesus on the Cross. Had he stated the truth about the Crucifix, the minds of his parishioners will be bent towards the Crucifix which he cannot allow to happen.

If we do not believe in the Crucifixion and death of Jesus on the cross, we cannot have forgiveness of our sins without which we cannot go to heaven. It is true that through the resurrection of Jesus Christ God the Father confirmed that whatever Jesus said and claimed during His life was true. But just as Isaiah and Peter both state, “by His stripes, we have been healed” spiritually and physically. If we do not believe this but believe only in the resurrection, we will be going to our graves with our sins not forgiven and we would be doomed for all eternity. In other words, it was His death and sufferings that won us our salvation and not the resurrection. Therefore, the Crucifixion and death of Jesus is the foundation of our faith. But as Fr. Joji is a master manipulator of truth who would like to score points for the Mar Thoma Cross even at the expense of taking away points that should truly go to the Crucifix, he had to make such a false claim.
Yet another way Fr. Joji tried to score points for his Mar Thoma Cross idol is to tactfully make his parishioners kiss his Mar Thoma Cross. As the parishioners were exiting the church for their Easter meal, they had to kiss the Mar Thoma Cross as Fr. Joji gave his Easter blessing to the parishioners one by one. Fr. Joji was once again elated to glorify his Mar Thoma Cross by making his parishioners kiss it. It was noteworthy and encouraging to see a small number of parishioners who joined me in not kissing the abominable cross. But for the vast majority of the parishioners of Garland, his ചെപ്പടിവിദൃ once again worked very well. Because as a master manipulator, he accurately calculated in his mind that no matter how much his parishioners hate the Mar Thoma Cross, they were not going to create a scene by hesitating to kiss it. He correctly predicted in his mind that this will never happen especially when the captivating aroma of the chicken biriyani was rushing into the nostrils of his parishioners which also made their mouths water as they were eagerly rushing to get out of the church for their Easter meal. Little did the parishioners know that they were being cunningly manipulated by Fr. Joji as they were kissing the Mar Thoma Cross which must have made Fr. Joji very happy and his Easter 2011 probably the best in his recent memory with his ചെപ്പടിവിദൃ once again turning out to be a grand success even though many of his earlier manipulations had failed miserably.
The blessing with Sleeva is not a new practice in our Garland Church. This is being practiced in our church for several years during Christmas, Easter, Perunal etc. This practice is an eastern tradition. Our church is an Eastern church. That is the reason why we are trying to build an authentic eastern catholic church. Our new church will not be like a theatre like some American churches.Our goal is to develop an eastern spirituality in this western country based on our liturgy.

Please go back read the history and then find you will find what you said is not correct. The bishops who knew very well about the history of the church in kerala had unanimously rejected the idea of Rome that ours is eastern church. Read about the communications that Mar Augustine Kandathil, Mar Mathew Kavukattu and Mar Joseph Parekkattil had with Rome. Even now only Powethil and few of his power mongering gang says ours is eastern right.And simply because of this reason we have the problem at all of our American Syro-Malabar churches. Remember, you may be a Powethil follower but many are not.

As you mentioned "OUR litergy" what is that ?.The so called litergy is powathil litergy and Angadi's.You need to find out what is our litergy first.The sathanic powathil mess our good litergy and made this claver cross.our bishop force us to follow that corrupted litergy that is all.so don't be proud of our litergy OK.

Very good to say the above things.But in practice, all claver maniac priests will go at the first opportunity to serve an american church!.If a sincere census is taken here 70% of the present claver supporting priests are working under the Latin rite church.The same priests when come to a Syro Malabar Church proclaims the importance of the persian cross and compell poor malayalees to go to Syro Church to please the Bishop.In short they can serve under latin rite, but we poor laity cannot attend mass in latin church?
This so called Marthoma cross came into Kerala church in 1988 after Fr.Vazhuthanapalli named it as Marthoma Sleeva.Before that even Fr.Plazid and Fr.Koodapuza described it as persian cross.
If the intention is to project the heritage, why the claver fundamentalist Bishops is in silence and blocked the enquiry about the alleged theft of Nilakkal Cross?.
Here the aim of Bishop is only to divide and rule and the priests are supporting it for their livily hood.
If the syro church want to follow
eastern traditions, then it should join with the present Jacobate or Orthodox church and abandon ties with Rome.

it adopted the persian cross as the court of arms.
There after slowy it is named as St.Thomas Cross (in 1988 after Fr.Vazhuthanapalli named it as Marthoma Sleeva)and started printing books..etc with cover page of this cross, ,Priest holy dress with this picture and distributed free to other dioceses

This is in response to my friend who criticized me for being critical of Fr. Joji’s Easter sermon in which he manipulated biblical truths to suit his claver agenda. When our priests make statements from the pulpit that are almost totally contrary to Biblical truths that we have been taught by the Catholic Church over the years, as devout Catholics we have a duty to defend our faith. On the very night that Fr. Joji stated that the foundation of our faith is the Resurrection, his counterpart priest in Coppell made a very similar one in Coppell. I was told that he stated that all what Jesus did in his life here on earth up and until Resurrection “should be bottled up and put away” because what really matters is only the resurrection. If this is right, it sounds even more scary than the statement Fr. Joji made. I am sure this is also carefully calculated to give more importance to the Mar Thoma Cross by increasing the importance of the Resurrection and to decrease the importance of the Crucifix by speaking disparagingly about the Crucifixion and death of Jesus.
It goes without saying that I feel compelled to speak up. It seems like age-old beliefs in the Catholic Church are being thrown out by the claver fanatics in the Syro-Malabar Church hierarchy to make them fit their emerging claver agenda. Remember how Baptism, Communion and Confirmation were all separate Sacraments and still are in the Latin Church, but have now been combined by the Syro-Malabar Church? Nobody spoke up and therefore it is becoming more and more common. Remember how Ash Wednesday has been changed to Ash Monday? Again changed by the claver fanatics to be different from the mainstream Catholic Church. Nobody spoke up and now it has settled itself to being Ash Monday. I do not like to see Good Friday being eliminated and only Easter being celebrated in the Syro-Malabar Church which is likely to happen if nobody speaks up when these claver fanatics change Biblical truths to suit their claver agenda. I am doing just that.
Analyzing it a little deeper, we have to realize that when Prophet Balaam went astray, it was a donkey that God used to put sense in the head of the runaway Prophet (Num. 22:28-31). In the Acts of the Apostles, we read that when Paul preached, the noble Bereans checked the scriptures to make sure that his preaching was in keeping with the Scriptures and that what he was preaching is accurate according to Scriptures. Thus if God used a donkey to bring a runaway Prophet back to his senses and the Bereans who were listening to Paul exercised their diligence to make sure that Paul’s preaching was in line with the Word of God, I don’t think it is inappropriate that I or anyone else who wants to make sure that our priests who preach from the pulpit check up on their statements. It becomes particularly important that we do this these days when preachers like Fr. Joji and the priest who gave the Easter message in Coppell have their minds stuck only on one thing – to implement their claver agenda at all costs. In 2 Pet. 3:17 Peter tells us to be aware of manipulators who manipulate the Word of God and be on guard. Based on what has happened to our Sacraments (3 of them combined into one) and the Ash Wednesday (being changed into Ash Monday) and what we heard in Coppell and Garland during the Easter messages of Fr. Joji and the priest in Coppell, we have every reason to be vigilant unless of course you don’t mind our Good Friday being done away with one of these days by these claver maniacs.

I am still trying to recover from the two Easter messages that were given in the two Dallas Syro-Malabar churches: Fr. Joji saying that the foundation of our faith is Resurrection and the priest who gave the sermon in Coppell saying that "ക്രിസ്തുവിന്‍റെ ഉദ്ധാനത്തിനു മുമ്പുള്ള മറ്റെല്ലാം ഉപ്പിട്ട് കുപ്പിയില്‍ വച്ചാല്‍ മതി". I see both these priests missing the boat on the Resurrection for the following reasons.
First of all in Gal. 6:14, Paul says to us that the only thing that we have to boast about Christ is His Cross which is the crucifix (not the Mar Thoma Cross by the way)because by this we are crucified to this world (and thus get connected with Christ). If we do not get crucified to this world and until we crucify ourselves to this world, we do not have any meaningful connection with Christ in the real sense of the term. That is why Paul again says in Phil. 3:10-11: "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead." Paul wanted to be like Christ in His sufferings and His death because he believed that was the only way to attain his own resurection after his death.
If we in our lifetime do not conform to Christ in His death even though it may be in a much less degree than Christ, we have no hope to be part of his resurrection. In other words, Christ's crucifixion and death is the foundation of our faith which will make us worthy for our own resurrection. If we do not resurrect to be with Christ, Christ's own resurrection does not mean anything for us.
That is why also Paul says in 1 Cor. 2:2: "When I was with you, I was determined to know nothing except Christ and Him crucified." To know Christ is to know Him in His Crucifixion. If we pickle His crucifixion and put it away, we do not know Christ the way we should know him. And if we do not know Him, we will not go to heaven no matter how well we know about His Resurrection. Because we read in 2 Ths. 1:7-8: "And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels.
"In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ". Jesus Christ is coming (in His second coming) to punish those who do not God (Him) and those who do not obey the Gospel. And we will be punished with the eternal fires of hell if we do not know him. There are several passages in the Bible to support this. In Mt. 7:22-23 Jesus says: "On that day, I will tell you, you evildoers, depart from me, I do not know you." Knowing about Resurrection alone will not help on that day to avoid the eternal fires of hell.
I did not mean to come down heavy on Fr. Joji or the other priest in Coppell who delivered the Easter messages. But as Paul says in his letter to Timothy, the church is and should be the pillar of truth. Therefore, when a priest errs so grossly on the foundation of our faith, I have to speak up and WILL speak up no matter how much people may hate me. This does not mean that I don't like Fr. Joji. When I met him in the hallway after the Easter service, I talked to him, and he was very sweet to me and talked very friendly to me. But I cannot compromise on the fundamentals of our faith especially when the claver fanatics minsinterpret it to suit their claver agenda.
