From what I understand, this is all symbolic. In kerala itself different dioceses dont agree to it, but those who explain mention what it symbolizes. I know one person here have talked about that part. While I really dont care if there is a curtain or not, i think the people who are not from those dioceses in Kerala with the curtain have problem accepting it. Sorry, we as a community is destined to fail. Because we, including me, don't have the guts to stand up for the truth. And the priestly class, they know it very well. They are sucking the blood of the laity. The only work they do is say the mass, 1 hour. Rest time they go to their buddies house and gossip, and make plans for mischief.
Hey Chicago parishner you are right :They just say mass and rest peacefully with what they want and dominate laity and enjoy the sweat of parishners for their enjoyment.
There is a way to kick this nut bishop out of the church. Cut the financial inputs, curtail his other activities. Isolatethe supporters both in the church and the society as well. It wouldn't take long for this guys to lose his followers, who are just but hangers on feeding on the bits and pieces that the bishop throws at them. Cut them off completely and you will attain freedom. Freedom is your my dear Syro malabaries or should I call you Zero Malabaries. That is what is you are left with culturally speaking.
If bishop Angadiath believes he can just ignore the feelings of a majority of the parishioners here and believe everything is going to be smooth, he got a surprise waiting for him. Church is an institution with itsown rules and regulations. Before we wage a war against anybody, why can't we look in to what the church ask us to do. I know some bad elements in kerala are acting agaianst the church teachings. (I mean what the church ask us to do with authority from Vatican)These people in Kerala have their own personal interest there. But why should we bring that politics in to our neck of woods and divide our community? Don't play toys in the hands of these minority puppettiers from Ernakulam Angamaly, Trichur etc.
Let's pray for unity. If our bishop did anything against what the church asked us to do, I am willing to support the action of our beloved ......who cut the curtain..
