കര്‍മ്മങ്ങള്‍ തുടങ്ങുന്നതിന് ഒരു മണിക്കൂര്‍ മുമ്പെ പള്ളിയകം ഭക്ത ജനങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ട് നിറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. വളയത്തേല്‍ തൂങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്ന ചുവന്ന കര്‍ട്ടനേല്‍ നോക്കി കണ്ണും മിഴിച്ചവര്‍ ക്ഷമയോടെയിരുന്നു. പാര്‍ക്കിങ്ങിനായും പള്ളിയില്‍ ഇരിക്കുവാന്‍ ഇടത്തിനായും നേരത്തെ കാലത്തെ വന്നെത്തിയ ഇടവകജനങ്ങള്‍!
ഒരു മണിക്കൂര്‍ മുമ്പെ പാര്‍ക്കിംഗ് ലോട്ടിന്റെ ചില ഭാഗങ്ങള്‍ പോലീസ് അടച്ചിരുന്നു. ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്‍ക്ക് വണ്ടിയിടാന്‍ ഇടം കിട്ടി. അല്ലാത്തവര്‍ വണ്ടികള്‍ ദൂരെ മാറ്റി തെരുവിലിട്ടു. നിര്‍ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്‍ ഷട്ടിലെടുത്തു.
സേവന തല്‍പരരായ എത്ര പള്ളിനേതാക്കള്‍ വണ്ടി ദൂരെ പാര്‍ക്ക് ചെയ്ത ശേഷം ഷട്ടിലെടുത്ത് പൊതുജനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നല്ല മാതൃക കാട്ടി എന്ന് അടുത്ത ഞായറാഴ്ച അച്ഛന്‍ ഒന്നു അനൌണ്‍സിയാല്‍ നന്നായിരുന്നു.
ചടങ്ങുകള്‍ തുടങ്ങാന്‍ ആകാംക്ഷാഭരിതരായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ജനങ്ങള്‍!
അപ്പോള്‍ അതാ, വികാരിയച്ഛന്റെ അനൌണ്‍സ്മെന്റ്:
"കര്‍ത്താവ് ഉയര്‍ത്തെഴുന്നെല്‍ക്കുന്നത് കാണണമെങ്കില്‍ എല്ലാവരും പാരിഷ് ഹാളിലേയ്ക്ക് പോകുക".
ആരും അനങ്ങിയില്ല. അച്ഛന്റെ മുഖത്ത്‌ ആ പതിവു ചമ്മിയ ചിരി.
അച്ഛന്‍ വീണ്ടും അന്നൌണ്‍സി: "കര്‍ത്താവ് ഉയര്‍ത്തെഴുന്നെല്‍ക്കുന്നത് കാണണമെങ്കില്‍ എല്ലാവരും പാരിഷ് ഹാളിലേയ്ക്ക് പോകുക".
പോയില്ലെങ്കില്‍ ചാവുദോഷമായെങ്കിലോ എന്ന ഭയത്താലാകാം ഇതോടെ ചില ഹതഭാഗ്യര്‍ ഇരുന്നിടത്തുനിന്നും എഴുന്നേറ്റു. പോകുന്നതിനു മുമ്പ് കൂട്ടൂരിയിട്ട് തങ്ങളുടെ ഇരിപ്പടം റിസര്‍വ് ചെയ്യാന്‍ പക്ഷെ, അവര്‍ മറന്നില്ല.
ആ ഹതഭാഗ്യരില്‍ ഈയുള്ളവനും ഉള്‍പ്പെടുന്നു എന്ന സത്യം ഏറ്റു പറയുന്നു.
പാരിഷ് ഹാളില്‍ ചെന്നപ്പോളല്ലേ കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ ഉയിര്‍പ്പിന്റെ പുതുമ കണ്ടത്! അസ്സല്‍ നാടകം. അതെ, ടേപ്പ് വച്ച്, ജീവനുള്ള മനുഷ്യര്‍ അഭിനയിച്ച വെറും ഒരു നാടകം! വിശ്വസിക്കാനായില്ല. മനുഷ്യന്‍ അധപ്പതിച്ചാലും ഇത്രമാത്രം അധപ്പതിച്ചു പോകുമോ എന്നത്ഭുത്തപ്പെട്ടുപോയി. ഈ ജോണ്‍സ്റ്റീ അച്ഛന്റെ നാടകക്കസറത്ത് എവിടെ ചെന്നു നില്‍ക്കും കര്‍ത്താവേ! ഈ പോക്ക് പോയാല്‍ താമസിയാതെ വി. കുര്‍ബാന പോലും നാടകമാക്കി മാറ്റാനുള്ള എല്ലാ സാധ്യതകളുമുണ്ട്! സത്യം പറയാമല്ലോ. ഇപ്പോള്‍ തന്നെ അള്‍ത്താരയില്‍ നടക്കുന്നതെല്ലാം ഒരു കോമഡി ഷോ പോലെയാണ്. ഒന്നോര്‍ത്തുനോക്കുക: അടി മുടി കളര്‍ ലൈറ്റ് പ്രളയം. അടിപൊളി വളയം. അടയുകയും തുറക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ചുവന്ന കര്‍ട്ടന്‍ . ചരടുവലിക്കുന്ന പിന്നണി പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍. യാതൊരു അര്‍ദ്ധവുമില്ലാത്ത ക്ലാവര്‍ കുരിശ്. കപ്യാരപ്പച്ചന്റെ വെളിച്ചപ്പാട് വേഷം. ശുശ്രൂഷികളുടെ വേലത്തരങ്ങള്‍. കൊച്ചാന്റിമാരുടെ ലേഖനവായന. പാടി പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കുന്ന പാതിരി. പിന്നണി യില്‍ പാടുന്ന ഗായക വൃന്ദം... പിതാവ്, അച്ഛന്‍ . തലങ്ങും വിലങ്ങും ഓടുന്ന അഷറന്മാര്‍. കാമറയുമായി ചുമ്മാ ഓടിനടക്കുന്ന ജോഷി വള്ളിക്കളം. മറ്റ് അല്ലറ ചില്ലറ കോമാളികള്‍. ഇങ്ങനെ പോകുന്നു നമ്മുടെ പള്ളിയിലെ നടീനടന്മാര്‍!
ഏതായാലും ഉയര്‍ത്തെഴുന്നെറ്റ യേശുവിന്റെ വേഷം കെട്ടിയ വിഡ്ഢിയെ മുത്തേണ്ട ഗതികേട് വന്നില്ല. സന്തോഷം!
ഉയരത്തെഴുന്നേല്‍പ്പു നാടകം കഴിഞ്ഞു മെയിന്‍ പള്ളിയിലായി പിന്നത്തെ അരങ്ങ്.
240 പേര്‍ക്ക് മാത്രം ഇരിക്കാന്‍ അനുമതിയുള്ള ബാല്‍ക്കണിയില്‍ അതിന്റെ ഇരട്ടി ജനം ഉറപ്പ്. (ഇപ്പോക്ക് പോയാല്‍ ബാല്‍ക്കണിയിടിഞ്ഞു വീണ് രക്തസാക്ഷിയായി നേരെ സ്വര്‍ഗത്തിലെയ്ക്ക് പോകാന്‍ താഴെയിരിക്കുന്ന കുറെ പേര്‍ക്ക് വളരെ ചാന്‍സുണ്ട്.) പള്ളിവരാന്തയില്‍ തറ ടിക്കറ്റ് എടുത്ത്‌ സിനിമ കാണാനിരിക്കുംപോലെ ഒരു കൂട്ടം ജനങ്ങള്‍ അങ്ങനെ. ചാപ്പലില്‍ പുറം തിരിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു TV കുര്‍ബാന കണ്ടു സായൂജ്യമടയുന്ന ഒരു പറ്റം ജനങ്ങള്‍ വേറെ. ഒന്നും പറയാതിരിക്കയാണ് ഭേദം.
പണ്ടൊക്കെ എന്തായിരുന്നു എല്ലാവരുടെയും പ്രസംഗം! "എല്ലാ വിശേഷ ദിവസങ്ങളിലും നമ്മുടെ എല്ലാ അംഗങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ഒന്നിച്ചിരുന്നു ദിവ്യബലിയില്‍ പങ്കു കൊള്ളാനുള്ള സൌകര്യമുണ്ടാക്കാനാണ് നമ്മള്‍ പുതിയ പള്ളിയുണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്". എന്നിട്ടിപ്പോള്‍ എന്തായി? ഉള്ള കഞ്ഞിയിലും കൂടി പാറ്റ ചാടിച്ചു. അത്ര തന്നെ.
മുഖ്യ കാര്‍മികന്‍ ആരായിരുന്നെന്ന് പ്രത്യേകം പറയേണ്ട കാര്യമില്ലല്ലോ. ബിഷപ്പ്. ഇടത്തും വലതും ആന്റണി-ജോണ്‍സ്റ്റീ പുരോഹിത ജോടികള്‍. പാട്ടു ദാസേട്ടന്‍ തന്നെ! പ്രസംഗം കലക്കി. ആദ്യപാതി ബിഷപ്പ്. രണ്ടാം പാതി നിങ്ങള്‍ ഊഹിച്ചപോലെ തന്നെ, സ്റ്റീയച്ചന്‍ !
ഒരു കാര്യം പ്രത്യേകം എടുത്ത്‌ പറയാതെ വയ്യ. ഏത് വടക്കനേയും പോലെ വിടുവായ്ത്തരം പറയാന്‍ നമ്മുടെ സ്റ്റീയച്ചനും മോശമല്ലെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം തന്നെ തെളിയിച്ചു. ഉദാഹരണത്തിന്‌ അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ പകുതി പ്രസംഗം തുടങ്ങിയത് തന്നെ ഇങ്ങനെയാണ്: "തിരുവുയര്‍പ്പിനെപ്പറ്റി നമ്മുടെ കാരണവര്‍ നല്ല ആംഗലേയ ഭാഷയില്‍ നിങ്ങളോട് പ്രസംഗിച്ചല്ലോ. അത് കേട്ട് ഉറങ്ങിപ്പോയവരെ നിങ്ങള്‍ ഒന്നു പരസ്പരം മുട്ടിയുണര്‍ത്തുക."
ഏതായാലും സ്റ്റീയാന്റെ കവല പ്രസംഗം കേള്‍ക്കാന്‍ പിതാവ് ഇരുന്നില്ല. അദ്ദേഹം ആ സമയം സങ്കീര്‍ത്തിയിലേയ്ക്ക് വലിഞ്ഞു. ഒരു പക്ഷെ ഒന്നു നടു ചായ്ക്കുവാന്‍ !
ഇക്കണക്കിനു പോയാല്‍ സ്റ്റീയച്ഛന്റെ വിസയുടെ കാലാവധി ഒത്തിരി നീളാന്‍ സാധ്യത തീരെ കുറവാണ്!

We the St. Thoams and Syro Malabar Catholics in USA deserve more from our mother church. We came to this country from far away land to support both our families in USA and our relative in India. Indian Catholics saving is one of the main sources of income to Indian churches and they are contributing substantially to the Kerala’s local economy too. However everybody wants only our money, nobody is taking care of our spiritual needs in USA. We become a frustrated community in USA after the inception of the Chicago based Syro Malabar Catholic Diocese under Bishop Angadiath. The Chicago diocese failed to reach out the faithful effectively and the bishop lost his credibility as a good shepherd. He put the controversial veil and claver cross in the altar of the church and many faithful and their young kids are going away from the church. Bishop Angadiath has no right to impose his personal belief to the rest of Syro Malabar Catholics in USA. Please intervene to this situation and transfer the current Chicago cathedral authorities (Bishop and the Vicar) to somewhere else and help to unite the believers.
The following excerpt from cannon law is very much applicable to both the cathedral Vicar and to the Bishop.
Can. 1740 When the ministry of any pastor becomes harmful or at least ineffective for any cause, even through no grave personal negligence, the diocesan bishop can remove him from the parish.
Can. 1741-1,3,5 The causes for which a pastor can be removed legitimately from his parish are especially the following:
1/ a manner of acting which brings grave detriment or disturbance to ecclesiastical communion;
3/ loss of a good reputation among upright and responsible parishioners or an aversion to the pastor which it appears will not cease in a brief time;
5/ poor administration of temporal affairs with grave damage to the Church whenever another remedy to this harm cannot be found.

The "singing and drama priest" (who even makes the homily into a drama) needs some sense talked into him. He is disgracing our church.
The following is from the Major Archbishop's PASTORAL LETTER ON LITURGICAL MUSIC:
The Catechism of the Catholic Church lays down three criteria to be observed in liturgical music:
1. Beauty expressive of prayer
2. The participation of the whole assembly in singing at the designated moments
* 3. The solemn character of the celebration (CCC No. 1157).
In the general instructions given in the Taksa of the Syro-Malabar Qurbana, it is clearly stated that the purpose of the choir is to help the congregation to actively participate in the liturgy.
It is also clearly instructed that only approved hymns and tunes should be used in the liturgy (General Instructions, n. 15).
*We should bear in mind that there is difference between liturgical music and an orchestra.
*Some noisy instruments used in orchestra are not at all suited to the atmosphere of a church nor does it help prayer.
Such instruments drown the voice of the faithful, besides becoming a hindrance to prayer.
* Therefore, nothing unsuited to the glory of the liturgy should be allowed in the compositions, in the way of singing and in the instruments used in liturgical celebrations.

What is going on with Syro Malabar diocese in Chicago?
The cathedral and diocese are doing nothing for a sustainable faith transformation to our future generations. They are going their own way and they are confusing the faithfull. I do not know to whom they are working for? They are not obliged to their vocational call. They cheated our community and they cruelly pierced the sincerely practicing Syro Catholic faithful of Chicago/USA. The Chicago diocese is becomes a safe heaven for living Judas of modern time Christianity. Please remove the dirty veil from our cathedral, our new church looks like a cinema theater. The Bishop, the Vicar and the Bishop’s advisors are accountable for all these mess.

There is already fund raising letter in mail from bishop to feed the SHEPERDS. WHY WE WANT THEM?. Last sunday I attended the eight AM mass. Jonstee struggled to get the last song to finish, may be he took 8 min. for the conclution song.I badly wanted to go washroom but I HOLd my "BUTT" tight to get the final blessing. LORD have mercy.
