കൊപ്പേല്‍ നിവാസികള്‍ പുതുതായി വാങ്ങിയ ദേവാലയത്തില്‍ ക്ലാവര്‍ കുരിശും, തിരശീലയും തൂക്കാനുള്ള ബിഷപ്പിന്റെ കല്‍പ്പനക്ക് എതിര്‍ നിന്ന ബഹുഭൂരിപക്ഷം ജനങ്ങളെ അനുകൂലിച്ചു നിലകൊണ്ട ഫാ. സജി, ബിഷപ്പിന്റെ കോപാഗ്നിയില്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞ കുറെ ആഴ്ചകളായി വെന്തു നീറുകയായിരുന്നു. . കഴിഞ്ഞ കുറെ ദിവസങ്ങള്‍ സംഭവ ബഹുലങ്ങളായിരുന്നു. പൈശാചികമായ പല വെല്ലുവിളികളെയും അതിജീവിച്ചു അദ്ദേഹം കോപ്പെലിലെ തന്റെ ദൌത്യം പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കി. ചുരുങ്ങിയ നാളുകള്‍ക്കകം പുതിയൊരു ദേവാലയം വാങ്ങി. അതിന്റെ അള്‍ത്താര സത്യകത്തോലിക്കാ മാതൃകയില്‍ രൂപകല്‍പ്പന ചെയ്ത്‌ വേണ്ട വ്യതിയാനങ്ങള്‍ വരുത്തി. അങ്ങനെ എല്ലാം കൊണ്ടും സംത്രിപ്തനായാണ് ഫാ. സജി കേരളത്തിലേയ്ക്ക് തിരിച്ച് പോകുന്നത്.
ഇന്ന് വി. കുര്‍ബാനയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം വികാര്‍ ജനറല്‍ ഫാ. മഠത്തിപറമ്പില്‍ അച്ഛന്റെ അധ്യക്ഷതയില്‍ കൂടിയ പൊതുയോഗത്തിലാണ് അച്ഛന് യാത്രയയപ്പ് നല്‍കിയത്. ബിഷപ്പ് അങ്ങാടിയത്തിന്റെ പേര് ഉച്ചരിക്കാന്‍ വായ്‌ തുറന്ന അധ്യക്ഷനെ പൊതു ജനങ്ങള്‍ പലപ്രാവശ്യം കൂകി നിശബ്ദനാക്കി. രൂപതാധികാരികള്‍ ഫാ സജിക്കെതിരെ നടത്തിയ ചില ദുഷ് പ്രചരണങ്ങളെ തകിടം മറിച്ചു കൊണ്ട്‌, അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് തങ്ങള്‍ നല്‍കിയ പാരിദോഷികം തങ്ങള്‍ സ്വ മനസ്സാലെ കൊടുത്തതാണെന്നും, തങ്ങളുടെ അള്‍ത്താരയില്‍ ക്രൂശിത രൂപമല്ലാതെമറ്റൊരു കുരിശും വേണ്ടെന്നും, മറ്റും എഴുതിയ 500 ഓളം പേര് ഒപ്പിട്ട എഴുത്ത് ബിഷപ്പിന് കൊടുക്കാനായി ഫാ. മഠത്തിപ്പരമ്പിലിനെ ഏല്‍പ്പിച്ചു. പരിപാടിയിലുടനീളം പരവശനായി കാണപ്പെട്ട അദ്ദേഹം പൊതുവേ വളരെ നായ ചാതുര്യത്തോടെയാണ് സംഗതികള്‍ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തത്. പ്രധാന ദേവാലയത്തിന്റെ അള്‍ത്താരയില്‍ സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ക്രൂശിത രൂപത്തിനും, അതുപോലെ തന്നെ ഹാളില്‍ സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ക്രൂശിത രൂപത്തിനും മുമ്പില്‍ ഫാ സജിയോടൊപ്പം നിന്നു ഫോട്ടോ എടുക്കാനും അദ്ദേഹം മറന്നില്ല.
അമേരിക്കയില്‍ വന്നിട്ട് ചുരുങ്ങിയ നാളുകളെ ആയിട്ടുള്ളൂ എങ്കിലും ഡോളര്‍ നേക്കാള്‍ കൂടുതലായി പൌരോഹിത്യത്തെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന ആദര്‍ശശാലിയായ ഫാ സജി, പലരുടെയും നിര്‍ബന്ധത്തിനു വഴങ്ങാതെ നാട്ടിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ച് പോകാന്‍ തന്നെയാണ് നീരുമാനിചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ചിക്കാഗോ അരമനയില്‍ ഹാജരാകണം എന്ന ഓര്‍ഡര്‍ ആണ് ബിഷപ്പ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് നല്‍കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. എങ്കിലും ന്യൂ യോര്‍ക്കിലും മറ്റു പല സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും ചുരുങ്ങിയ സന്ദര്‍ശനം നടത്തിയ ശേഷം നാട്ടിലേക്ക് തിരിക്കും എന്ന് തന്റെ നന്ദി പ്രകടന പ്രസംഗത്തില്‍ പറഞ്ഞ അച്ഛന് ചിക്കാഗോക്ക് പോകുന്ന കാര്യം ഒന്നും സൂചിപ്പിച്ചില്ല.

കൊപ്പേല്‍ പള്ളിയില്‍ സാമ്പത്തിക തിരിമറി നടന്നു എന്ന ബിഷപ്പിന്റെ ആരോപണത്തില്‍ അല്‍പ്പം കഴമ്പുണ്ട്. എന്നാല്‍ ചക്കിന് വച്ചത് കൊക്കിന്‌ കൊണ്ടു എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ മതിയല്ലോ. തിരിമറി നടത്തിയത് ബിഷപ്പിന്റെ ആത്മാവ് സൂക്ഷിപ്പുകാരന്‍ കൈക്കാരന്‍ തന്നെ. പള്ളിയില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന കുരിശുവിവാദവും അതിനോടനുബന്ധിച്ചുണ്ടായ ഒച്ചപ്പാടും മുതലെടുത്ത്‌ നമ്മുടെ ഈ പ്രമാണി ഒരു ബിസിനസ്‌ അക്കൗണ്ട്‌ തുടങ്ങുകയും പള്ളി അക്കൗണ്ട്‌ ല്‍ നിന്നും വികാരിയോ, പാരിഷ് കൌണ്‍സില്‍ അംഗങ്ങളോ, മറ്റു കൈക്കാരന്മാരോ അറിയാതെ പൈസ മാറ്റുകയും ചയ്തു. ഭാഗ്യവശാല്‍ ഉത്തര വാദിത്തപ്പെട്ടവര്‍ യഥാസമയം കണ്ടുപിടിച്ചതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്നു വലിയ നഷ്ടം ഒഴിവായി.
ചിക്കാഗോ അധികാരികളുടെ അറിവോടെയാണ് താന്‍ ഈ കള്ളത്തരം ചെയ്യാന്‍ മുതിര്‍ന്നതെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം തന്നെ പലരോടും ആണയിട്ടു പറഞ്ഞു. "ഞാന്‍ ഇക്കാര്യത്തില്‍ നിരപരാധിയാണ്. ഞാനൊരു കെണിയില്‍ വീണ് പോയതാണ്. പിടിക്കപ്പെടുമെന്നു തീര്‍ത്തും കരുതിയില്ല" ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു ചാരനോട് അദ്ദേഹം ആവര്‍ത്തിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു. ഇത് സത്യമാണോ അതോ ആശാന്‍ വീണിടത്ത് കിടന്നു വിദ്യ എടുക്കുന്നതാണോ എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല. ചിക്കാഗോയുടെ അറിവോടെയാണെങ്കില്‍, ഫാ സജിയെയോ മറ്റേതെങ്കിലും കുരിശ്/ശീല വിരുദ്ധരേയോ കള്ളക്കെസ്സില്‍ കുടുക്കാനുള്ള ഒരു പാഴ് ശ്രമമായിരുന്നോ ഇത് എന്ന് സംശയിക്കേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
അഴിമതിയും സത്യസന്ധതെയും പറ്റി പറയുമ്പോള്‍ രസകരവും ഹീനകരവുമായ മറ്റൊരു സംഭവും കൂടി ഞങ്ങളുടെ ശ്രദ്ധയില്‍ പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതായത്, കോപ്പെലിലെ മറ്റൊരു കൈക്കാരന്‍ തന്റെ വീടിന്റെ utility ബില്ലുകള്‍ പള്ളിയുടെ utility ബില്ലുകളുടെ കൂടെ കുത്തിത്തിരുകി കൊടുക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചത് പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. കൂടാതെ ഈ രണ്ട്‌ മഹാന്മാരും പള്ളിയുടെ tax exemption ID സ്വന്തം കുടുംബത്തില്‍ സാധനങ്ങള്‍ വാങ്ങാന്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കുക പതിവായിരുന്നുവത്രേ.
ചിക്കാഗോ രൂപതയിലെ എല്ലാ ഇടവകകളിലും പോലെ തന്നെ കൊപ്പേല്‍ പള്ളിയിലും ഒരു ശുദ്ധ കലശം നടത്തേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. അവസരവാദികളെ ആട്ടിപ്പായിച്ചു സത്യസന്ധതയും ഉത്തര വാദിത്വബോധവുമുള്ളവരെ അധികാര സ്ഥാനത്ത് അവരോധിക്കേണ്ടത് നമ്മുടെ നില നില്‍പ്പിനു അനിര്‍വാര്യമാണ്. അതുപോലെ തന്നെ മനസാക്ഷി മറന്നു അധികാരികളുടെ തോന്ന്യാസം പൊതുജനങ്ങളുടെ മേല്‍ അടിച്ചേല്‍പ്പിക്കാന്‍ കൂട്ട് നില്‍ക്കാത്ത പുരോഹിതരും.
ഫാ. സജിയുടെ അഭാവം ചിക്കാഗോ സീറോ മലബാര്‍ രൂപതയ്ക്ക് നികത്താനാകാത്ത ഒരു നഷ്ടമാണ്. ഇതുപോലുള്ള നല്ല പുരോഹിതരെ കെട്ടുകെട്ടിക്കുന്ന ബിഷപ്പ് തന്റെ ഈ നയം അധികനാള്‍ തുടര്‍ന്നാല്‍ സ്വയം നാട്ടിലേക്ക് കേട്ടു കെട്ടേണ്ട ഗതി വരുമെന്നതില്‍ സംശയം വേണ്ട.

Dear Syro-Malabar Faithful In Christ,
The present controversy over the issues mentioned above is the result of a movement started by Mar.Powathil and his Cronies in Kerala. Unfortunaltely , Mar Angadith Of Chicago Diocese fell into this Trap knowingly or unknowingly. A poor Victim of his own circustances. Mar. Angadiath is caught between the Devil and the Deepsea. On one side Fr. Kaduppil on the other,Msgr. Madathiparambil who represents, Chaganaserry and Palai Belt respectively. If Mar. Angadiath is capable, to exercise his ecclesiastical power, as the Bishop of Syro-Malabar Diocese, Chicago, he has a way out. His diocese comprises of all of USA and Canada and his faithful represents 27
Syro-Malabar doicesee in India exclusively. That means, if he is willing to stand for the majority of our faithful even the Pope will not stop him from doing it. Please note the following points given below:
1. Inform all the Syro-Malabar Bishops in the Synod that you CANNOT IMPOSE the divisive, illogical and fallacious Teachings of a Few Bishops in Kerala, who advocate the use of Marthoma Cross and the Veil installation in our Churches
2.Marthoma Cross, which infact is an imitaion of Manichaean/ Persian Cross was found in Iraq and Persian Countries in the beginning of 4th. century A.D. So also the Chaldean Liturgy . Our SyroMalabar Church originated in the 1st. century A.D. Mar Powathil simply ignores this truth in order to satisfy his EGO.
3. Why should we bother to embrace the same liturgical tradiotion bypassing our own unique existing tradition ?. Atleast majority of our Bishops in India recognizes this Truth by the Grace of God. Shame on those Bishops who oppose them.
4.We, the Syro-Malabarians firmly affirm and support the "Law of St. Thomas" beyond and above all other petty arguments and quarrels.
5. The Role of Laity is well established and counted by the Law of St. Thomas . It enforces laymen particiation even in financial matters. For example look at the Marthoma,Jacobite and other Orthodox Churches in India.
6.The Catholic Church has ZERO TOLERENCE on Financial accountability once the Funds and the Property come under its possession. This phenomenon has been creating a cloud of suspicion through out its history.Even famous Cardinals in Rome were subjected to financial misapproriations to the tune of millions of dollars and the Church Authorities BAILED them out through Secret Coverups and Covert Operations.
7.Jesus faced His Suffering and Death in Open Places and infront of the general public. If so why should we HIDE HIM behind a Curtain during the HOLY MASS?. More than a Billion Catholics of the Latin Rite is very open and clear in their liturgy and the Priests never turn their back against the faithful during Holy Mass. Why some of our Syro-Malabar Dioceses insist on their priests to do the opposite? Shame on you.
8. Why our Chaldean- cum- Syro-Malabar Bishops wear the REAL CROSS on their Official Dress, against their own convictions and beliefs?
Dear Angadiath , GIRD UP YOUR LOIN and FIGHT AGAINST some of THE MEAN SPIRITED BISHOPS IN KERALA WHO TRY TO TRAP YOU AGAIN AND AGAIN IN THEIR FOLD AS SATAN TRIED AGAINST JESUS HIMSELF . The MAJORITY OF 27 SYRO-MALABAR BISHOPS WILL SUPPORT YOU IF YOU ARE WILLIG TO GO WITH THE MAJORITY.

in another syro-malabar church (i don't want to mention the name, the concerned person knows who i am talking about), the accountant takes all the liquid cash from the sunday collection and write an equivallent amount on his personal check on the way to bank. then at the year end ,he claims everything on his tax return. does he steal any money? no. does anybody else notice anything? no. does he commit any fraudulent act? answer may be yes or no according to the reader's view point.
as a syro Philabarian my hats off to Rev.Fr.SAJI,can you pl send his mail id to support his genuine nature.I like to visit him in thamarassery...we have similar problems here..one of the trustees resigned after fights over veil.

Have the following answered with some reasonable explanations
1. Why Bishop and maximum of 4 priests need a 2.2 Million Dollar house to stay? When people are in distress and facing such a difficult situation to pay off even their utility bills, indeed this is a LUXUARY. Remember folks, it’s not a church, it’s not a conference hall. The 2.2 million dollar is being spent “just” for a house. Yeah, I guess Jesus’ disciples were supposed to be living only in “Multi Million” mansions.
2. Why Bishop and his subordinates spent 850K on buying an office building and sold it for 125K back to Village because the building caused self damage. (The building was damaged because of the non usage of the premise).
How can you make such financial blunders and do you have a simple answer to our basic question – Do you need a 2.2 Million Dollar house for 5 bachelors to stay?
3. Why Bishop and his subordinates have this MUCH ego in accepting the fact the entire Bishop Group themselves has conflicts. If you are so smart, why don’t you convince the Bishop Synod to adopt the Sheela and Persian Cross al across Syro Malabar and we will accept in USA too. You are in two groups 29 Bishops vs 3 Bishops – Crucified Cross against Persian Cross. Where in the entire earth, you wil have the guts to impose the “Mini Minoroty” to the USA people where all sort of intelligent people from all places living here.
4. The main reason, why people are not against you because 1. People are patient. 2 People are nice 3. People are faithful 4. People are believers.
5. Finally the take on The Sheela and Cross – The simple fact – Bishop, you are not having a single person to add to the current faith but you are doing the damages. YOU ARE DOING A SIN drving away the simple people away from their faith.
DONATIONS to Priests and Bishops
6. The donations people give to main priests and Bishop-What about it? A normal household pay a minimum of $200-$500 to the Bishop for his presence in any of the ceremonies/functions. The priests anywhere from $100 or above. Now you are all witnessed to the fact I just stated because each of you would have paid such amounts to some priests some point of time. I am not sure our Bishop is contributing this personal money to the church back or community back. If so, that’s great and I am asking an APOLOGY right here but I do not think so.
I challenge the Bishop/Priests to do the following instead of cribbing about the unnecessary topics
1. Account all the money what you are receiving. We agree this is your personal money. But any amount above 2K per month, either give it back to the church or give to some poor people in India.
2. Have a policy of “Non Acceptance” to any donation from public. And define a protocol or fee structure by the church itself for any visits and account all the money to Church. And also define a fee to the relevant services to the priests, who perform that service. After all priesthood is for “Serving” the people I guess.

This cash switching is happening in many of the Syro Malabar Churches. Committee members took the Sunday cash contributions saying convenience and write personal checks to off set it. At the year end claim it as donations.
Another practice is using Church’s Sams Card for personal purchases. Here personal purchases are included in purchases for Church activities, got it tax exempted, write a check to the church for personal purchases as reimbursement and claiming this reimbursement as donations!
Using Church TAX ID for sales tax emption is another phenomenon. Big bill items like Furniture and Electronic Goods and even materials for Home repair got tax exempted!
Some of our priests are not an exception. They also use the Tax ID to buy personal clothing and other durable goods all the time and charge the expenses to church account.

If you are still for the destruction of this Coppell church, keep playing with Garland church supporting gang, which is trying to put our Coppell church under Garland Vicar Fr. Joji.
You should look back and see, boundary issue of Irving, Raffle issue, Frisco border issue and all constant pressure from Bishop's old friend from Garland to make Coppell church go down.
And by your recent actions (siding with Claver bishop) you guys did contribute a lot to our own churche's destruction.

We lost the achan we had.How rarely do we see the Bishop or anybody from the diocese ? But the parishoners we have to see them and face them every week,may be a few times IN ONE WEEK.Let's be as civil as we can towards each other.
