Now we came to know the real intension why Bishop want all church property & Bank account in his name. This is each members's money. So the local church authority should be able to handle their account & property. Now he once again prove that he is a fool.

In all my years I have seen the crucified Christ and altar veil . I don't have any issue with the altar veil . But I do want crucified Christ. If the majority of the people doesn't like altar veil then don't hang it . what is the use of that ? If an ordinary parishioner like me can think like this, then why can't Bishop Angadiyath ? We want a bishop that will accept Jesus and serve the community, its time for change.

Copeell team, let us get out of Syro Malabar Diocese of Chicago. We do not need this diocese any more. It is better to be part of some other church. Bishop has to either give the church back to us or the money we spent already. Let us go to some other diocese in kerala or move out from Syro Malabar altogether and be part of some other catholic church.
If it goes to legal action, then we should sue the bishop for 1million per family (i.e. $250 Million if we are 250 families) against the mental pain the bishop and his fly gave us thesed days. Even if the church closes down, we should still countinue as a catholic community outside the syro malabar church.

Having seen the miserable turn of events, Here is a recomendation for any community wanting to buy their church. I am not a CPA. Just my thought.
Let the faithful form a charitable organization and buy the property in the name of the charity.
Then let the church lease this property. This way you wont end up with chicago "owning" your property and dictating what they want.

I would humbly tell you to get out of the Chicago Diocese, get married and lead the life of a layman in order to understand the pain of ordinary people like me. It will be an act of sacrifice than persecuting the people here in Coppell Church and elsewhere in Chicago Diocese. We are fed up with your arrogant behaviour and poor decision making skill. We need an able leader than a buffoon. You are failing everyday and your days as the Bishop of Chicago Diocese are counted down.You have gone against the goodwill of the people here in Coppell. You should try to get a seat in the election and you can be a cunning politician than a sincere Bishop. I feel shame on you in your inabilty to lead the people of Chicago Diocese in peace and harmony. Just as you are sending Fr.Saji now, you will be sent out from Chicago Diocese one day in utter shame. If possible please attach the link to the new blog (http://syromalabarcross.blogspot.com/ ) - The goal of the blog is to discuss serious article on the cross issue. I am not sure of the fate of this website also since I am too lazy to maintain any blog needing long term commitment. But if you guys can own it, I can hand it over to you. Personally I believe crucifix is the truth (95% sure)But I am open to all other arguments.

i feel sorry for the pavam bishop. accidently he became a bishop when there was no other priest. he was a good man untill kaudppan took charge as the chancellor. hKaduppan hoped to go back to palai and become bishop there. but it failed, then he is making hard time for the bishop so that he may be able to become the bishop soon here. He tried to over take him when he had ear surgery but bishop came back. he is giving all the hard time to bishop and mentally abusing him.if you appoint a private investigator, you can trace out who kauppil is and his private affairs. he has collected millions by retreat and bought acres of land in Palakkad. he says to all, i am not getting salary but nobody knows how much money he is collecting by retreats and seminars and doing nothing except giving the bishop wrong advice to manipuate him and eventually kill him. if you trace out his cell phone, you can see the number of all good looking women from all the parishes.they are the newsmongers for him and he does spy work through them .he knew thatfr. Saji is smart and may take over him. he never like a priest who is talented or smart. he likes priests who are licking his ass. let us wait for the day the kaduppan becomes the bishop and fulfills his ambition and continue to pray for fr. The Kerala Syro Malabar hierarchy needs to transfer both the Bishops and his advisors from USA otherwise they may destroy our faith seeds.
Ya the Coppel Church Was donated from the ANgadiath FAmily. Donator Mr. Bishop still have lot of family property. So he will pay of the mortegage.

Bishop will not see any more contribution from us. If he has no concern about the people then why should we support him.
All Catholic chruch should have a standardized prayers and procedure. It shouldnt depend on just one Bishop to destory the community.

1. Nobody is going to run away with any money.
2. Our pope said to place a crucifix in front of the people and priest.
3. Fr. Saji allowed a crucifix to be placed on the wall above the altar, and the next day he was asked to leave the parish by April 15th.
Let me reiterate it in simple terms:
- Pope said pray facing the crucifix.
- Fr. Saji followed that order.
- Bishop fired Fr. Saji for that reason.

In Malayalam, it is called "Thirasheela".
The Bible says, the "Thirasheela" split into two right through the middle when Jesus died on the cross. It is there as a reminder of the moment of Jesus' death on the cross. We have it there in memory of His death, just like we share in the eucharist in memory of the last supper and Jesus giving himself up for us. So, please don't call it a curtain. May be we should hang it the way it is supposed to be, instead of using it like a stage curtain.

When Jesus died on cross, there was "No Thirasheela" there. The "Sheela" in the Jewish temple split into two right through the middle when Jesus died on the cross. I don't think we need some wrong explanations to be the basic of our faith. If that so, Jesus prayed in a mountain prior death. You will start asking us to have a mountain in front of the cross now. And nn the Hosana Day, we should have a Donkey's statue in the church.
As a Chicago Parishioner, I don't care you have Sheela there. It's a distraction and it's an instrument to irritate the people. It does not have any value in front of Catholic Faith. If so, go try to convince the other 29 Roopatha Bishops and Cardinal in India first. Why do we need to install this here in USA?

True. The meaning and use of the Thirasheela cannot be interpreted with that of catholic faith. It is from the Jewish system.Alternatively, if the Thirasheela is needed there, then why it is split when Jesus Died?.
There is no theological or Biblical expalnation to have the curtain.This idea is to have some confusion.Just like the recent Kalpana in Kanjirappaly,Chry and Palia regarding use of sleeva in good friday.
If we want that much parambariyam, then all the Syro Malabar churches should buy atleast one donkey to have the Hosana Pocession !. Also all the priests should learn original Suriyani Rasa, instead of Manglish they are using now.

It's Not Donkey - Bishop is driving a Lincoln Car.
It's not a small Hut Bishop is living -It's a 2.2 Million Dollar House, Bishop is living in the "HellWood" neighborhood. Any simple American understands - You can buy a 5 Bedroom house for less than 750K in any rich neighborhood in Illinois. But Bishop and his thinkless+clueless team had spent 2.2 Million Dollars for the current Bishop house (with a quarter acre extra lot). What a DUMB and FOOLISH and POOR financial decision.
They could have built the BEST house in IL for 1 Million in the Syro Malabar -Cathedral neighborhood for the money they had spent - 2.2 Million + 850K for the waste useless office. The 3Million they had spent on living less than 2 Miles away from Syro Malabar Cathedral – Have anybody thought what kind of logical answer to these questions? What kind of justifications anybody can give on the above topics?
Bishop could have used the 9.5 Million Dollar Syro Malabar Cathedral offices and saved all 3 Million Dllars towards our Mortgages may be. Instead, they have purchased another office buildinge for 750K and spent another 150K to repair that. And now the village had taken this back for 150K because that's a threat.
My question is - Who permits or questions this kind of irresponsible financial acts? Or aren’t we supposed to talk about this? We should be mum on these because we are God Fearing Catholics. Yes, I am a scared Catholic Goat but it’s come to a stage where I have to talk else it’s going to the very wrong way.
The Analysis and Facts.
1. The Bishop House is a complete failure in handling financial decisions.
2. And now Bishop House is proving that they are very poor in handling in Faith Oriented Decisions too.
3. Faith comes prior any Egos - that may be a tough lesson authorities need to understand and actup on it.
What a True Leader.
Jesus said, prior being a Leader “Be the servant of the people”. Prior judging others “Judge Yourself”. I don’t see any of these qualities or any other leadership qualities in our Bishop.
As a Bishop I respect him and as a person I love him. But as a Leader, he is a failure. He is not the old Bishop I used to know and I used to respect and I used to love. He is simply different and dangerously a threat to Syro Malabar Catholic Community with his current acts.
I have one more questions to the readers and I want you to think about it.
1. Will there be another NEW Syro Malabar Church in United States? If not, who is the root cause to that?
2. Are these Kaldaya Cross and Sheela – Are they helpful in any ways to the
Community?
It was very much disappointing to talk to a Bishop in Kerala. As per this Bishop, "all the problems were created by Fr. Saji. He did not obey the orders of his superior."
They feel that there is only a minority is against Chicago Bishop.
Though the truth is different, most of the Bishops in Kerala have got a different picture (which 100% wrong) through Chicago Bishop's house. Because of this wrong story, Fr. Saji will have difficulty back in Kerala too.
It may be time to use media help to address the wrong doing of our Bishop.
Though most of the priests agree with the people, they have no courage to speak against Bishop. In my opinion, the only way to resolve the issue is present the situation to local media here as well as the media in Kerala. That’s the only way, Chicago Bishop will open his eyes to think positively and forget about the revenge on Fr. Saji.

Trouble started becs Saju Sebastian got assaulted by some brave Parishners as Saju was drunk and started Photographing people without their permission. After Saju was chased away, Saju bought his wife Janice and his 16 year old daughter to come and plead to ask Fr. Saji to announce loudly in the Church that Saju is Not drunk nor influneced by drugs, nor influenced by AV Thomas and Reji.
Saju Sebastian is a shikandi. His wife, Janice, is a strong poison. I am told that even in their community, they are the troublemakers and are position hungry. He does not have any capability and want to take credit for all the success.

Why do you celebrate Christmas, as Jesus definitely didn't ask us to celebrate his birthday.? Jesud didn't ask us to put a corss at the altar with a human figure nailed to it either. Neither did he ask as to celebrate palm sunday and walk around waving palm leaves.
He didn't ask us to celebrate ash wednesday (on as monday), or ask us to put ash on our forehead.
So in plain language, in order to observe Parambariyam, you agrred that we should have at least one donkey in the church ?
At the same time , you are forgetting the fact that so many Syro Malabar priests are serving Latin churches in USA.Bishop Angadiyath was also part of Latin

The kaduppan is behind all these nasty drama. he was not involved in anything untill the Cathedral work is done. Just before the blessing he came with "liturgy" and created all the problems there. he brings his shinkidis from pala and Chy and eventually fulfill his dreams. where is the Vicar General of the diocese??
who is incaharge of the priests in this diocese. after Kaduppan make all the stupid decisions, the vicar general is send as a mediator and he speaks about some old quotes from the famous authors and leaves. he does not have a clue about waht is going on here. all other priests are in white robes, he still wears the black shirt because he knows well that he will be out from syro at any moment and still he can find a place in one of the Amerian churches. if kaduppan is made a vicari for a week in any of these churches, then you will see this thaniniram. the priests who were opposed to marthomas cross and viri are planning to establish it in their own churches, because there all have an eye on cathedral church as soon as Anthony achen leaves. wait and see more canon and cicil laws implementations from kaduppan for your church like us.
The decision of the Most Rev. Angadiyath , the Bishop of Chicago, to dismiss Fr.Saji from St.Alphonsa Church alleging financial misappropriations , questions both the religious and moral commitments of the Church, particularly that of Rev. Bishop. His action is very un-Christian.
If we look at the chronology of events happened in Coppell, we know that the allegation is a make up story, baseless and, in fact, is false. The church had its own parish committee who were looking after the financial affairs and no allegations or whatever ever surface. The new committee took charge only on April 1st. Even Fr.Saji’s enemy’s and Bishop’s close supporters will attest the fact that Fr.Saji was not handled any money.
This action is only intended to tarnish the image of a noble priest and that is why the Coppell faithful united together to oppose the decision.
If the Bishop is trying to convey a wrong message to the outside world, this is what the Holy Bible says “Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight. Proverbs 12:22” The Bishop cannot be forgiven on the Christian assumption of “not knowing what he was doing” He knew full well what he was doing and also its moral significance. This arbitrary act of the Bishop has placed the American Syro Malabar Church in danger of exploiting the faith not to serve God but to serve the arrogance of the Bishop and his loyal advisors.
Bishop’s action proves that the American Syro Malabar Church cannot be trusted to honor, protect and respect catholic beliefs and faith. Instead of doing his moral and religious duty to teach good to the faithful catholic community, by making frivolous allegations, Bishop tried to divide and rule and hence should be held responsible for all the recent happenings in Coppell.
His action leads to a great deal of suspicion and doubt about his honesty, reliability and trustworthiness in holding the very dignified holy position as a Catholic Bishop.
Now the question is can he honestly represent the Syro Malabar Catholic Church in USA that consists of layman from all parts of Kerala.
He has acted quite contrary to the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. Christ came to unite all the people of this world, not divide.

Very interesting dramas in catholic Diocese, how can we advice our kids to be part of Syromalabar church, these idiots in Chicago, Florida and all other singidys to be hanged they are a shapam to catholics. We all know who is this Bishop,who failed to control one parish community in Garland, divided families and friends and at last as a mark put some keel in the parking lot before he left, Lets get rid of this unwanted elements from our community

I belive you live the USA, and English speaking country. Does that mean you should not speak Malayalam anymore? Eat burgers, pizza, hot dogs, and no rice & curry?
This whole thing is just a Sad story. Learn to love and Forgive. People may have flaws. Maybe this and that is true, maybe it's not. But they are people, human beings. Not God himself. St.Alphonsa community pull through.

With ref.to your rjoinder to post #39, it should never be forced down one's throat. If the majority in the community want it, it is ok.
The Chaldean cross and the curtain are minor things not essential part of our faith or belief. They are only external signs or symbols of our
parambaryam (tradition). they need not be considered very important to our faith. If the majority of people want them, have them. If the majority don't want them, it is not good to use brute force ( authority) to enforce them.
Nothing in the universe remains same, everything is undergoing changes. Let the changes be for the better. Never revert to changes which are not quite useful to the people, and leading to proress.

Christ of the Bible does not need all these foolish traditions and practices. It's just to collect money in one or other way.
Syro-Malabar priests are searching for it's church members not to take them to God, but to take their money to priest's pockets teaching them the greatest lie of purgatory. Compare everything with the Bible, then you will know all these are to serve their stomachs. Foolish people who don't think with their God given mind become slaves of these practices and traditions.
