ഫാ. സജോയുടെ കത്ത്

കാല്‍ഗരിയില്‍ ചീഞ്ഞു നാറുന്നതെന്തെന്നു ബാഹ്യലോകത്തിനറിയില്ല. പക്ഷെ അവിടെ എന്തോ ചീഞ്ഞു നാറുന്നുണ്ട്.

ഫാ. സജോ ജേക്കബ് കാനഡയിലെ കാല്‍ഗരി രൂപതയില്‍ ജോലിചെയ്യുകയും അതോടൊപ്പം അവിടുത്തെ  സീറോ മലബാര്‍ മിഷന്‍റെ  ചുമതല വഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്ന് ഞങ്ങള്‍ മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നു. അമേരിക്കയില്‍ അങ്ങോളമിങ്ങോളം അരങ്ങേറുന്ന ക്ലാവര്‍ കുരിശ് ശീല പ്രശ്നമല്ല അവിടെ നടക്കുന്നതെന്നും ഞങ്ങള്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. ഏതായാലും കഴിഞ്ഞ ഏഴാം തീയതി ഫാ. സജോ സീറോ മലബാര്‍ അംഗങ്ങള്‍ക്കെഴുതിയ ഒരു എഴുത്ത് അതേപടി ഞങ്ങള്‍ താഴെ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നു. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ഡോ. കൊച്ചാപ്പി എഴുതിയ പോലെ കാനഡ അഭിപ്രായസ്വാതന്ത്ര്യമില്ലാത്ത ഒരു തേര്‍ഡ് വേള്‍ഡ് രാജ്യമാണെന്ന് ഞങ്ങളും മനസ്സിലാക്കിയിട്ടില്ലായിരുന്നു. പോലീസിന്‍റെയും  പട്ടാളത്തിന്‍റെയും  കോടതിയുടെയും പേരു പറഞ്ഞു വിശ്വാസികളെ വിരട്ടാനാണ് ഫാ. സജോയുടെ ശ്രമം എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍റെ കത്തില്‍ നിന്നും  വ്യക്തമാണ്. ഇമെയില്‍ വിടുന്നത് എന്ന് തുടങ്ങിയാണ് ശിക്ഷാര്‍ഹമായ ഒരു കുറ്റമായി തീര്‍ന്നതെന്ന് ഫാ. സജോ ഒന്നു വ്യക്തമാക്കിയാല്‍ വളരെ ഉപകാരമായിരുന്നു. കാല്‍ഗരിയിലെ പാമ്പാട്ടികളെ ഓലപ്പാമ്പിട്ടു പേടിപ്പിക്കാം എന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കത്തക്ക ഒരു വിഡ്ഢിയാണോ ഫാ. സജോ? 

ഈ ഫാ സജോ ഒരു ക്ലാവര്‍ രോഗിയാണോ അല്ലയോ എന്ന് ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കറിയില്ല. ആണെങ്കിലും അല്ലെങ്കിലും പുരോഹിതര്‍ തന്‍റെ അജഗനങ്ങളോട് തണ്ടും, തടിമല്ലും, മുഷ്കും വച്ചു പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചാല്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ അതിനെ ശക്തമായി നേരിടും. പുരോഹിതര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ ലോഹയുടെ ബലം വച്ചു സമൂഹത്തെ അടിച്ചമര്‍ത്തി ഒതുക്കി ഭരിക്കാം എന്നാണ് കരുതുന്നതെങ്കില്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക് തെറ്റിപ്പോയി. പോലീസിനെക്കൊണ്ട് പിടിപ്പിക്കും, ലിട്ടിഗേറ്റ് ചെയ്യും എന്നൊക്കെ പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ കളസത്തില്‍ മുള്ളുന്നവരാന് കാല്‍ഗരിക്കാര്‍ എന്നാണോ അച്ചന്‍റെ ധാരണ? കേരളത്തിലെ ഏതു കുറുക്കന്‍ കേറാമലയില്‍ നിന്നു വരുന്ന വിഡ്ഢിക്കോമരമാണ് കാല്‍ഗരിയിലെ ഈ കശ്മലന്‍ എന്ന് നിങ്ങള്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കൊന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തരുമോ? അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഞങ്ങള്‍ ശരിക്കും കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തു തരാം.

 

ആരെ കണ്ടിട്ടാണ് ഫാ. സജോ ഇത്ര നിഗളിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് മനസ്സിലാകുന്നില്ല. ബിഷപ്‌ അങ്ങാടിയത്തിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടാണെങ്കില്‍ ഭേഷായി.

Notice to the community members.

 

Dear friends in Christ, 

It would seem that many of you have received many anonymous emails targeting our priests and community members. 

 

In spite of insistent plea and request from the Bishop of Calgary and me to stop this kind of bickering and infighting in our community, certain individuals are committed to a plan to tear apart and destroy our community and the reputation of some of our members. 

 

I regret that our official emails of our community have been misused by certain individuals. The gossip and malicious rumours have significantly damaged the reputation and emotional well being of certain members of our community. It is contrary to the teachings of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Roman Catholic Church to engage in or repeat malicious gossip and rumours about another individual. God calls upon each and every one of us to love our neighbor as we do ourselves and to demonstrate this in our actions every day. 

 

I have contacted the Calgary police department and the legal counsel of Diocese of Calgary about this grave concern and I am advised by Calgary police to issue a notice to the members of our community that it is a severe offence to procure illegally the email addresses of a community / misuse and abuse for certain personal ends. All cases of misuse and abuse will be investigated by the Police and charges will be laid where warranted. This notice is issued as a warning to the people who are involving in these activities. 

The lawyer for the Diocese is in the process of preparing a legal outline of the potential legal liability that persons may face when they engage in, publish or communicate defamatory comments (including comments circulated or posted through the internet). I will also distribute a copy of this letter when it has been completed. Please note that such comments will result in litigation in the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench and those persons responsible will be held liable for any damages caused by their inappropriate actions. 

 

As a director of this community and all our priests, as well as the committee members we stand for reconciliation and peace. I earnestly request to stop these kinds of offensive acts and sustain the peace and love in our community.
