പണ്ട് ഒരു ശരാശരി അമേരികന്‍ മലയാളിയുടെ ആസ്തി 40 - 60 ലക്ഷം ഇന്ത്യന്‍ രൂപയായിരുന്നു . അന്ന് നാട്ടില്‍ പോയി ഇതുകൊസുത്താല്‍ 15 ഏക്കര്‍ സ്ഥലവും ഒരു പുരയും കിട്ടുമായിരുന്നു, അന്ന് ഒരു ശരാശരി കത്തോലിക്കന്റെ ആസ്തി രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ ലങ്ക്ഷമായിരുന്നു . അന്ന് അവിടെ പള്ളി, പള്ളി മുറി ,ഹാള്‍,ആതുര സേവനം ...... പണിക്കും, അന്ന് വിദേശി മലയാളി കൊടുത്തിരുന്നത് ന്യായമായിരുന്നു .
ഇന്ന് അവസ്ഥയൊക്കെ മാറി , നാട്ടില്‍ ഒരു ശരാശരി കത്തോലിക്കന്റെ ആസ്തി രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ കോടിയായിമാറി . ഇന്ന് വിദേശ മലയാളിയുടെയോ പഴയപടി 40 - 60 ലക്ഷം ഇന്ത്യന്‍ രൂപയില്‍ തന്നെ നില്‍ക്കുന്നു. ഇനിയും നാട്ടിലെ , പള്ളി, പള്ളി മുറി ,ഹാള്‍, കെട്ടിടം പള്ളി, പള്ളി മുറി ,ഹാള്‍,...... പണിക്കും ആതുര സേവനം ...... മുതലായവയ്ക്കും വിദേശമലയാളികളെ പിഴിയുന്ന പരിപാടി തികഞ്ഞ അനീതിയാണ്,. നാമോരുരുത്തരും ഇത് മനസിലാക്കി നാട്ടിലെ ഇടവകക്കാരുടെയും , പള്ളിയുടെ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുടെ ഗുണഭോക്താക്കളില്‍ നിന്നും പിരിക്കുവാന്‍ , അവരോടെ ആവശ്യപ്പെടെണ്ട സമയം കഴിഞ്ഞു . മാത്രമല്ല പണ്ട് നമുക്ക് ഇവിടെ പള്ളിക്ക് ഒന്നും കൊടുക്കേണ്ടായിരുന്നു , ഇന്ന് ശരാശരി കത്തോലിക്കന്‍ 1000 - 3000 വരെ വിദേശ നാണയം പലയിനത്തില്‍ പള്ളികക്ക് കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതായി ഉണ്ട് . അതിനാല്‍ , നാട്ടില്‍ നിന്നും നിര്‍ബന്ധിച്ചു പിരിക്കുന്നത് നിര്‍ത്തലാക്കെണ്ടാതാകുന്നു. ഇസ്ട്ടമുള്ളവര്‍ കൊടുത്തുകൊള്ളട്ടെ . പിരിക്കുവാന്‍ വരുന്ന ഓരോരുത്തരോടും താങ്കളുടെ ആസ്തിയുടെ ഒരു ശതമാനം കൊടുത്തിട്ട് എന്റെയടുത്ത് വരാന്‍ പറയാന്‍ ചങ്കൂറ്റം ഉണ്ടാവണം . അല്ലായെങ്കില്‍ ഈ ചൂഷണം തുടരും. തടിച്ച മടിശീലയും, ശുഷ്കിച്ച തലച്ചോറുമുള്ള കുറെ പ്രാഞ്ചിയെട്ടന്മാരുടെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തികള്‍ കാരണം, ഒരു സാധാ അമേരിക്കക്കാരന്റെ സ്ഥിതി ധുസഹമായിരിക്കുകയാണ്.

In Garland the Awesome Crucifix Works Miracle after Miracle As the ‘Idolatrous Cross’ Hides in Shame Under a Curtain – Tom Varkey
You probably remember on December 17, 2011 during the consecration of the newly built Garland Syro-Malabar church, I was rallying outside the church carrying a Crucifix and witnessing to the true Cross of Jesus Christ. So when I returned to this same church for a retreat conducted by Rev. Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil, my prayer to my crucified Savior was: “Lord, I did my part witnessing to your crucifix at this church facing shame and humiliation for your name’s sake. Now it is your turn to return the favor and demonstrate through some signs and wonders that the Crucifix is your true cross and not the idolatrous ‘Mar Thoma Cross’ which is only an idol. I told Jesus that you must respond to my request in a mighty way so that my brothers and sisters who have been misled and are perishing by believing in the idolatrous cross will be convinced and turn away from the idolatrous cross and be saved.” The Lord answered my prayer with such mighty power and in a way that I could not even imagine in my wildest dreams. In 1 Cor. 1:18 Paul tells us that the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing but it is the power of God for those who are being saved. In 2 Cor. 1:20 we read that all promises of God are ‘Yes’ in Christ Jesus. The following three huge miracles that the crucified Savior worked in my family during the Garland retreat demonstrate God’s power which He displayed through His Crucifix in a mighty way. It was nothing short of God’s power on display demonstrating that the Crucifix and the Crucifix alone is the true cross of Jesus Christ in answer to my prayer as a sign to my brothers and sisters in the Syro-Malabar Church who are being misled and are perishing as a result.
I am sure that some of my brothers and sisters who support the Caldayan movement would still argue that the idolatrous Mar Thoma Cross is as good as the Crucifix as they have done over the past weeks, months and years. But to the serious seekers of Biblical Truth, the following miracles my family witnessed during the weekend of February 25, 2012 should be convincing enough to draw clear conclusions beyond all doubt in favor of the Crucifix. These miracles that God worked on our behalf in Garland during the retreat conducted by Rev. Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil are powerful testimonies on the power of the Crucifix. I am sure after reading about these miracles, at least some of the Caldayan die-hard friends will have a change of heart and join the ranks of those who are fighting ‘the idolatrous cross’ in favor of the Crucifix and “the message of the cross” that the Crucifix represents which alone can save us from the fires of eternal hell.
Without any further adieu, let me tell you about the miracles that the Crucified Savior worked in my family. In my case, Jesus healed me from my 20-year old gout from which I have been suffering for the past 20 years. I have been taking medicine all these 20 years following a few attacks I had in the beginning. For those of you who may not know anything about gout, it is a condition in the feet by which uric acid crystals accumulate causing severe pain. When you have gout and have an attack (flare-up) from it, the feet swell up and it is so painful that even a bed sheet touching the swollen feet causes severe pain. Eating red meat and drinking wine will aggravate gout and can trigger an attack. Once you get gout, even though you can control it by watching diet, it stays with you for the rest of your life. Now that I am cured of it, you can well imagine my eagerness to order my steak next time I will be eating out in a restaurant after staying away from it for 20 years. Honor and praise be to Jesus Christ and his precious Cross, the Crucifix.

In the case of my wife, she had a case of severe rheumatoid arthritis for many years. Doctors rate arthritis on a scale of 5 to 15 or so. In the case of my wife, her arthritis was rated an 85. It was so bad that her doctor had told her that if she did not take medicine, she would be crippled. She could not sleep in the night from the severe pain caused by her arthritis and could hardly get up before 8 or 9 AM in the morning. She had to use pain medicines and ointments like Biofreeze, Naphroxine, etc. to numb her back and hands. On Saturday, February 25, 2012, the second day of the retreat, our crucified Savior healed her arthritis. Praise and glory be to the crucified Savior and His glorious Crucifix on which He died for taking away not only our sins but also our infirmities. In 1 Pet. 2:24 we read that by His bruises, we have been healed of our infirmities.
The third miracle was the curing of the sore that looked like an open wound which my son-in-law had been suffering from for many years. He did not attend the retreat but my wife and I prayed to Jesus for him and his psoriasis-like condition to be cured. Sure enough, his condition was cured miraculously even though he had this large sore-like wound almost three inches in diameter for so long and even after trying various kinds of ointments and seeing different doctors. This healing took place even though my son-in-law is not much of a believer in miraculous healings and he is not all that willing to admit that it was Jesus through a healing touch that cured him. But Jesus being the kind of awesome Savior that He is who rewards hundred-fold those who bear witness to His Gospel and His Cross had to listen to my prayer. I was asking for one miraculous healing to be a sign to my Syro-Malabar brothers and sisters who are holding to the position that there is no difference between the Crucifix and the ‘Mar Thoma Cross’. Well, He worked three huge miracles and not just one.
After seeing these signs and wonders, how can anyone even think of expelling the Crucifix from a beautiful church like the one in Garland? The Garland church is so beautiful except for what Fr. Koruth and Fr. Jojy have done to its sanctuary by placing the idolatrous cross in the middle of the sanctuary. I sincerely hope that our beloved Bishop and all the Caldayan priests and believers in our Syro-Malabar Church will no longer think of the Crucifix as just another cross, an external symbol which has no implications for our faith. I hope Bishop Powathil and other bishops including our Bishop Angadiath will see the Crucifix through the same lens that Paul saw it as he states in Gal. 6:14. Here he says that he does not want to boast of anything except the cross of Jesus Christ. But above all, I sincerely hope and pray that they will take to heart seriously the message of salvation contained in 1 Cor. 1:18. Here Paul clearly lays it out that if anyone ignores the message of the cross (which is the Crucifix), he is on the path of eternal damnation.
On my part, I am so proud of being chosen by God as a witness to the Crucifix, the true cross of Christ. The Lord has spoken though some mighty signs in Garland about the importance of the Crucifix in our places of worship. I am inviting everyone in the Syro-Malabar Church to join me in this witnessing act. I can assure you that you will be rewarded in ways you may have never even imagined. Above all you will be rewarded for all eternity as you spend eternity ruling the kingdom of God as one of the co-heirs of it shoulder to shoulder with Jesus Christ as the Bible tells us in Rev. 2:26-27. I am looking forward to rallying with many of you in Chicago on Palm Sunday and in Atlanta during the Syro-Malabar Convention during the weekend of July 29, 2012 as a strong witness to the true cross of Jesus Christ, the Crucifix.

The following three huge miracles that the crucified Savior worked in my family during the Garland retreat demonstrate God’s power which He displayed through His Crucifix in a mighty way. It was nothing short of God’s power on display demonstrating that the Crucifix and the Crucifix alone is the true cross of Jesus Christ in answer to my prayer as a sign to my brothers and sisters in the Syro-Malabar Church who are being misled and are perishing as a result.
This is in response to my brother who misquoted me and said in his comment above that I said that the Crucifix healed me and my wife. The second paragraph above is a direct quote from my article. As you can see I have said that it was the crucified Savior who worked the three miracles. So my brother is not accurate in making the accusation against me. I have only said that Jesus Christ who is God worked three miracles in my family when I prayed to Him and asked for a sign to those who claim that there is no difference between the Crucifix and the Mar Thoma Cross to demonstrate that the Crucifix and the Crucifix alone is the true cross of Christ. So if these miracles are any indication, the Caldayans should seriously reconsider their view of the Crucifix. This is all what I am saying. I have never said and will never say that the Crucifix alone will work miracles. But when we venerate it in obedience to the commandment of Jesus, Jesus works miracles because we are obeying His command in Jn. 3:14. In Jn. 3:14 He asks us to lift up the Son of Man just as Moses lifted up the image of the serpent in the desert.
In Jn. 9:6-7 we see Jesus healing a blind man by spitting on the ground and making some mud with the saliva and asking the blind man to go and wash in the Pool of Siloam. In Jn. 9:11 the blind man describes how he was healed. He says that Jesus made some mud and put it on his eyes and then told him to go to Siloam and wash. He says that he did it and thus he could see. Here, my anonymous brother above who is misquoting me in the above paragraph would say that it was the water of the Pool of Siloam that healed this blind man. But it would be inaccurate to say that. The blind man was healed because Jesus worked a miracle on his behalf because he acted in obedience to what Jesus asked him to do. In the same way when I witnessed to the Crucifix outside the Garland church, Jesus was pleased with what I did because I was obeying His command in Jn. 3:14. To demonstrate this fact, Jesus worked the miracles just as He worked the miracle in the case of the blind man for obeying His command to go to the Pool of Siloam and wash. In both cases it was Jesus who worked the miracle even though the means that Jesus used in the case of the blind man was the water in the Pool of Siloam but in my case it was the Crucifix.
As you can see I have said that it was the crucified Savior who worked the three miracles.
Again blasphemy! How do you know you got healed by the risen god or the god in crucifix? No miracles can be done by either Marthoma cross or crucifix or even by hundreds of idols in the church. Jesus never asked anyone to venerate crucifix to attain healing. “Obedience doesn’t mean ignorance”. Idol worship is against the 10 commandment. Do you believe that Jesus is resurrected or you still like to keep him in the cross itself.
Your story of blind man is inappropriate in this scenario. The blind man obeyed Jesus (the god) and got healed and at the same time you claims that you got healed through idol worship.
As per your theory, if Crucifix has the power to heal, and then cross, the tomb, dress and everything that is attached to Jesus should also have the power to heal. But you are just obsessed to crucifix, and ignoring the bigger picture – that is Christ himself: who is crucified, buried and resurrected!!! You should be ashamed to use a made up story to make other believe. If you believe you are healed, then “PRAISE THE LORD” not CRUCIFIX.

MY RESPONSE: This is the third time that I am saying that IT IS NOT THE CRUCIFIX THAT HEALED ME. It is the Savior on the Crucifix that healed me. It is unfortunate that just as in Jn. 9 when the blind man was healed by Jesus, the Pharisees stubbornly refused to believe that Jesus healed him, you guys are also stubbornly refusing to believe that JESUS HEALED ME ALSO. Furthermore, you are accusing I said something that I never did. I never said that the crucifix healed me. I am simply saying that Jesus healed me in response to my prayer that I prayed. I asked the Lord to heal me as well as my wife as a return favor for witnessing to His Crucifix on December 17, 2011 the day the Garland church was consecrated. I know this for sure because I was the one who prayed and I would never lie to you if it were not the case. My wife never testified about my being healed of gout. She did not even know about it until I told her which was after she gave the testimony. And I know what happened in my case which was the Lord answered my prayer when I asked Him a return favor for having witnessed to His Crucifix on December 17, 2011.
That is why I am saying the Crucifix is the true of Christ based on Jesus healing me which was a favor I asked Him for witnessing to His Crucifix on December 17, 2011. Now I cannot make you guys believe me any more than Jesus could make those Pharisees believe that He had healed the blind man in Jn. 9. I am not at all surprised because how can I expect to make you anyone else believe in my healing done by Jesus when Jesus Himself could not make the Pharisees believe in a miracle that He worked when He physically healed the blind man. They did not believe even after the blind man described how his healing occurred several times to them. They repeatedly refused to believe that Jesus healed his blindness. So, now it is a matter between you and Jesus. If you refuse to believe you will pay the consequence after your death. I can only pray for you that you believe in the power of the Crucifix not because it has any power in itself. It has power when we obey Jesus by displaying the Crucifix in our churches in obedience to Jesus’ command in Jn. 3:14 where He is commanding us to display it “just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert”. If you want to disobey the command of Jesus in Jn. 3:14, there is nothing I can do to make you obey other than to pray for you which I will because I hate to see any of my brothers and sisters going to the fires of eternal hell through disobedience. Bible never says that you have to believe in the healing that I had in the Garland church nor am I. But the Bible does command us to display the Crucifix in Jn. 3:14.

Jesus never talked about crucifix. It is just your obsession. There are lots of people who gets healed. They have different views. If you want to market crucifix, please don't do use god's miracles for it. You will regret and have to repent on that.
Varkey, We would have believed you if you have revealed this to the world (or atleast to this blog) when you asked this favor to god on December 17, 2011. Now you are telling the whole world the Garland church you and your blog used to abuse is blessed. Now you are just using an abusive blog to prove your point and promote blashpemy
