ഇന്നാത്തെ 11 മണിക്കുര്‍ബാനയ്ക്കൊരു സവിശേഷതയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ലേഖനം വായന രണ്ടും നടത്തിയത് കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍. അതും ഇവിടെ ജനിച്ചു വളര്‍ന്നവര്‍!
നമ്മുടെ മുതുക്കര്‍ ശുശ്രൂകളുമായി താരതമ്യ പ്പെടുത്തുമ്പോള്‍ അവരെക്കാള്‍ എത്ര അക്ഷരസ്ഫുടതയോടും ഉച്ഛാരണ ശുദ്ധിയോടും കൂടിയാണ് ആ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍ ലേഖനം വായിച്ചത്! സാധാരണ ഞായറാഴ്ചകളില്‍ പോലും ലേഖന വായനയില്‍ പെരുത്തു ഭേദം രണ്ടാം വായന നടത്തുന്ന സഹോദരിമാരുടെതാണ്. നമ്മുടെ അള്‍ത്താരപ്പിശാശുക്കള്‍ ആയ ശുശ്രൂമാര്‍ വായിക്കുന്നത് ഒരക്ഷരം ഭക്തജനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മനസ്സിലാകുന്നില്ല. ചിലര്‍ വായിക്കുന്നത് തികച്ചും സ്വാഭാവികതയില്ലതെയാണ്. . ഉദാ: വെളിച്ചപ്പാട് അപ്പച്ചന്‍ . മറ്റു ചിലര്‍ സ്ഫുടതയില്ലാതെ ഒരു മാതിരി അവിഞ്ഞ രീതിയില്‍ വായിക്കുന്നു. ഉദാ: നടക്കപ്പാടം, കപടന്‍ കടവില്‍. ഇനിയും മറ്റു ചിലര്‍ ഗാംഭീര്യതയോടെ അഭിനയിച്ചു വായിക്കുന്നു. ഉദാ: കണിയാന്‍ ജോണ്‍.
ഞങ്ങള്‍ ചോദിക്കുകയാണ്, ഇവര്‍ക്കൊന്നും നാണം എന്ന് പറയുന്നതൊന്നില്ലേ? ഈ ആശ്രീകരങ്ങളെ ആ അള്‍ത്താരയില്‍ നിന്നും ആട്ടിപ്പായിച്ചിട്ടു, ശുശ്രൂകളായി നമ്മുടെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ നിയമിക്കുക. ഒരച്ചന് കുര്‍ബാന അര്‍പ്പിക്കാന്‍ ഒരു ഡസന്‍ ശുശ്രൂഷികളുടെ ആവശ്യമെന്തെന്നു മനസ്സിലാകുന്നില്ല.
അങ്ങാടിയത്ത് ഇന്ന് നാട്ടിലേയ്ക്ക് കെട്ടിയെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു. സിനഡ് ആണത്രേ. എന്നാലും ഇങ്ങനെയുണ്ടോ സദാ സമയവും ഒരു സിനഡ്! ഈയിടെ ഒരെണ്ണം കഴിഞ്ഞിങ്ങു വന്നതേയുള്ളൂ. ആ സിനഡില്‍ വച്ചാണ് ആത്മ ഹത്യയ്ക്കു നമ്മുടെ മെത്രാന്മാര്‍ മൂന്ന് തട്ടുകള്‍ നിശ്ചയിച്ചത്. ഇനിയിപ്പോള്‍ ഈ സിനഡ് ന് എന്തൊക്കെ കുരുത്തക്കേടുകള്‍ അവര്‍ ഒപ്പിക്കുമോ എന്തോ. കാരണം ഇവരുടെ മേല്‍ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവ് എഴുന്നുള്ളി വരും എന്ന് ആരും ധരിക്കേണ്ട. ഇവരെ ഒന്നിച്ചു കണ്ടാല്‍ പ്രാവ് പോലെ വരുന്ന പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവ് പരുന്തുപോലെ പറന്നു പോകും. ഏതായാലും ഒരു കാര്യം ഞങ്ങള്‍ മുന്‍കൂട്ടിപ്പറയുന്നു. സാധാരണ വിശ്വാസികളെ കൂടുതല്‍ ആപ്പിലാക്കാനുള്ള എന്തെങ്കിലുമൊക്കെ തീരുമാനങ്ങള്‍ അവര്‍ എടുക്കും.

If some one else pay for my travel to India specially on business class I dont mind to go there like our Bishop.

If your are so worried about his economy class travel please be generous and you can pay his first class or business class or charter a plane itself from your pocket and shut your mouth. During this time of crisis and economic recession every penny counts.
Be little more cultured in your writing and there is no wonder why our SMC community and church leaders decline.
What ever you guys say, nothing worthwhile is going to come out of this synod. It is the same old thing. Tell me this, when he returns from the synod, is the bishop going to explain to us what was discussed and decided in the synod. This is just a show, I truly believe. American bishops dont meet every 6 months! What is there so much to discuss?
I heard big snow coming. Any plan for the vicar to handle Sunday parking? By the way is my hard earned money going for the traffic control by the black cop? Why don't the authorities make a committee for traffic control. Let them do the controlling. We can save money. I am sure there will be someone who will be willing to do it, if the vicar gives the position.

Yes There can be a Traffic and Security Council Volunteered by the Community, as other brotherly Churches do in the Chicago area!.
I am sure there will be people who would ike to be the president and secretary of the newly created Traffic and Security Council and the Church can also save some money. Even if they are paid, that will be creating a few part time Job in this harsh times.

When he come back bishop must explain to us what they discussed and decided in the bishops meeting. Because everything he spend and everything he has is given by us. His air fair, his insurance, his cloths, his food, his house, his utilities, his other daily expenses etc, etc.... He and all the priests taking millions of dollars from us for their own good life and still acting like they are our bosses !! People like "bishop guard" may also a part of it. Otherwise why he is guarding these kind of abuse and arrogance?? What a shame. Stop the lavish life using my poor peoples money.
A fully agree with many above comments. First making a traffic control committee make sense. Just like ushers they can direct cars instead of people. Father should take this suggestion seriously if he wants to solve our chuch parking issue. Because this is a very serious issue for curch members and father cannot close his eys and pretend everything is ok.
Second, the bishop has to explain his work with the synod. What good his synod attendence is doing to this community? What kind od discussions and decisions are taken by the synod. He has to explain in detail.if it is a money wasting junket, these frequent trips to india has to stop.
Bishop should increase the numebr of services on Sunday to reduce parking issue. Thats the only solution.
Coming to think of it, the b ishop can manage this diocese even if he lives in india. So he should live in some nice place in kerala. Move the whole bishop's house to kerala. Why not? It will save millions for us. It is the only way this diocese is going to survive after this generation.
Chicago bishops attendance in the bishop meeting is different than other bishops. Others are in Kerala and their costs are much less especially the travel cost. So Chicago bishop should not use these meetings to cover up his fun vacations. Why the bishop and priests going to Kerala so frequently while people like us can't aford it. They should explain clearly what they are doing their each day. Parish commitee should have some kind of control on this frequent fun trips. They can't do whatever they want as long as they are our employees. They are obligated to keep certain decency and values.
All of us are talking about just one Bishop and his expences. What about in the near future 2 more bishops? So we will have 2 Bishop and an Arch Bishop for USA.
May be an assistant Bishop for Arch Bishop too.
As others are paying for their trip they are keep flying. If there is a limit 1 trip a year with others money and rest out of their own money, then they will reduce the numbers of trips to india.
I agree with the comment for creating a committee for parking lot control. It can be called with a nice name like "Syro Malabar Transportation Committee" SMTC. It should have a director, 10-15 members who are the vicar's loyal supporters, like the bishop guard, church camera, etc. Like litergy committee, they shuld be scheduled for every service.

Our Diocese is under Rome, not under Synod. We are not/suppose to implement any decisions of Synod, except of the directives of Rome. Bishop has no vote at Synod. Then why should he go for this spending our money at this time of recession......, Another exploitation by clergy

You are absolutely right. Chicago Syro-Malabar Diocese is not under the jurisdiction of the Syro-Malabar Major Arch-Bishop. Angadiyath is going and sitting in the Synod for nothing. Just like he went to a United States Catholic Bishops' conference recently. If he is there or not, nobody cares.

Our mother of the church Mary always appears with her head and body covered,its is not just our imagination (pictures) but it is the reality.

If men and women are equal why women can't be priests? Why priests not getting married? Don't just talk about equality, dare to practice it. Can the bishop get married and have children? Its not husbands but the priest who don't allow women wear western dress in our church. If he stands for love and justice why can't he advice them to feel free to wear modern western dress. No he won't because he knows if he allow it his job will be in jeopredy. Not husbands jobs. Actually husbands may be saving some money! I am sure most husbands won't mind their wives wear western dress in the church. Church thinks that extreme arrogance and supresion of believers rights are the best way of taking advantage of them. About the Biship and Priests getting married.
While they cant successfuly manage a parish how could they manage a family? So, they better be single until they learn to manage a parish successfully.
You are right. We the husbands could save a lot of money if our wives wore western dress. Do you know how much it costs for a decent sari or any other dress? There are 18 Bishops in Kerala, 10 Bishops in Mission centers and one in North America. Does any one know, if all the Bishops in Mission centers are non-diocean Bishops?
Mission Centers are poverty stricken places. Diocean Bishops don't want to be there because that does not fit their life style.
Why didn't they make north America as a Mission centre?. Answer is, this is a green pasture, too hard to give away the luxury.
We waist a lot of our precious time talking about the priest and the hirearchy. Is it productive?. It is not, because they don't care. We are under their mercy after certain point.
Why do we neeed them?. Probably for the wrong reason. They are responsible for making us faithful with their preaching . Also they are responsible for ruining our faith because of their action.
Let me tell you about an incident. A married man with two children went to Kerala to get married again. He was married to a white lady and the relationship was falling appart. He got the letter from his relative (a parish priest) stating that he is single.
He got married in a catholic church in Kerala. Few months later his second wife came to US. Couple weeks later she was confronted by the old wife and the children and got kicked out of her house. This heart broken lady is still in New York still unmarried. This happened 15 years ago.
Thanks to the God Fearing, God loving priest who gave him the letter.
