ആധുനിക സീറോ മലബാര് സഭയുടെ ചരിത്രത്തില്‍ ആദ്യമായി ഒരു ബിഷപ്പിനെതിരെ പ്രകടനവും ധര്‍ണയും. സീറോ മലബാര് ബിഷപ്പുമാരുടെ സിനഡ് നടക്കുന്ന സെന്റ്‌ തോമസ്‌ മൌണ്ടിന് മുമ്പിലാണ് ചിക്കാഗോ ബിഷപ്‌ മാര്‍ അങ്ങാടിയത്തിനെതിരെ നൂറു കണക്കിന പ്രകടനക്കാര്‍ അണിനിരന്നത്. 
പ്രകടനക്കാര്‍ക്കു ധാര്‍മ്മിക ധൈര്യം പകര്‍ന്നു കൊടുക്കാന്‍ ഡസന്‍ കണക്കിന് വൈദീകരും മുമ്പില്‍ തന്നെ അണി നിരന്നിരുന്നു. "രാത്രിയെ പകല്‍ പോലെയാക്കുന്ന ദിവസം. തെറ്റിനെ തുറന്ന് കാണിക്കുന്ന ദിവസം, അനീതിക്കെതെരെ അത്യുന്നതനിലേക്ക് ആയിരങ്ങളുടെ ശബ്ദം ഉയര്‍ന്ന ദിവസം" ഫാ. മാത്യു എടശ്ശേരി പ്രകടനക്കാരോട് വികാര ഭരിതനായി പറിഞ്ഞു.
തികഞ്ഞ അച്ചടക്കത്തോടെയും അര്‍ഹിക്കുന്ന ആദരവ് കളോടെയും കൂടിയാണ് സമാധാന പരമായ ധര്‍ണ സംഘാടകര്‍ ആസൂത്രണം ചെയ്തിരുന്നത്. ആര്‍ച് ബിഷപ്പു പവ്വത്തിലിന്റെ കാറ് പ്രകടനക്കാന്‍ തടഞ്ഞു നിറുത്തി നിവേദനം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് നേരിട്ട് സമര്‍പ്പിച്ചു. മറ്റു ബിഷപ്പു മാര്‍ക്കും അങ്ങാടിയത്തിനെതിരെ പ്ലക്കാര്‍ഡും കയ്യിലേന്തി നടന്നു നീങ്ങി മുദ്രാവാക്യങ്ങള്‍ വിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു പ്രകടനക്കാരുടെ ഇടയില്‍ക്കൂടി കടന്നു പോകേണ്ടി വന്നു. കേരളത്തിലെ എല്ലാ പ്രധാന മാധ്യമങ്ങളും സന്നിഹിതരായിരുന്നു. ചാനലുകള്‍ സജീവമായി എല്ലാം ചിത്രീകരിച്ചു.
മുപ്പത്തി ഒന്നോളം അല്‍മായ പ്രതിനിധികളാണ് അമേരിക്കയിലെ വിവിധ ഇടവകകളില്‍ നിന്നും തങ്ങളുടെ പരാതികള്‍ സിനടിനെ നേരിട്ടറിയിക്കാന്‍ കേരളത്തിലേക്ക് പോയിരുന്നത്. koppel ഇടവകയില്‍ നിന്നും ജോസി , ഗാര്‍ലാന്‍ഡ്‌ ഇടവകയെ പതിനിധീകരിച് ജിന്‍സണ്‍ (ആലുവ) എന്നിവര്‍ ശക്തമായി രംഗത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ടോം വര്‍ക്കിയുടെ നേതൃത്ത്വത്തിലുള്ള ജീസുസ് ആര്‍മി എന്ന യുവ അല്‍മായ സംഘടനയിലെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരാണ് പ്രതിഷേധ ജാഥ നയിച്ചത്. ഈ സഭാസ്നേഹികളുടെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ചതിലധികം വിജയം കൈവരിക്കാന്‍ സാധിച്ചു എന്നത് അമേരിക്കന് സീറോ മലബാര്‍കാര്‍ക്ക് ഒന്നടങ്കം അഭിമാനിക്കാവുന്ന കാര്യമാണ്.
പ്രകടനത്തിന് മുമ്പ് തന്നെ ബിഷപ്പു അങ്ങാടിയത്തിന് മറ്റ് പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ശകാര വര്‍ഷം ശരിക്കും കേള്‍ക്കേണ്ടി വന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അമേരിക്കയിലെ ചെയ്തികള്‍ നിയമവിരുദ്ധവും, മനുഷ്യാവകാശ വിരുദ്ധവും, വിശ്വാസ സമൂഹത്തെ വിഭജിക്കുന്നത്മാണെന്ന് ബിഷപ്പുമാര്‍ അതി ശക്തമായ ഭാഷയില്‍ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ താക്കീത് ചെയ്തു. മാര്‍ തോമ കുരിശും അള്‍ത്താര വിരിയും തന്നിഷ്ടമായി തൂക്കുന്നതില്‍ നിന്നും അങ്ങാടിയത്ത് പിന്തിരിയണമെന്നും അവര്‍ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.

Like the person who wrote that “Angadi” is a cobra, I too believe it is not yet time for the euphoria. There is lot more to be done. We shouldn’t rest until the work is completely executed. No “sheela” or claver cross in any Syro Malabar churches in the USA. Kaduppan the chanakyan must be already putting up a damage limiting plan. Beware, it is possible that still they will do any kind of tricks. Eager to know more news from the Synod. Keep up the wonderful spirit and the excellent social service Syro Malabar Voice.

If we give money to Knaanaya Church give at least $100,000 don't humiliate knaanaya community.
Knanaaya Community deserves a lot better than this, they are entitled to get 1/3 of the total asset of kaavalam Garland church, that is 1/3 of 4 million, that is about 1.5 million.
kaavalam is the one always stood against knaanaaya Community buying a church, and now he is orchestrating this cheap stunt of $25,000 as a gift to them.
Bishop Angadiyathu is a disgrace to Church. He should retire. A new leadership is required in Chicago

The name Syro Malabar is a shame for us. "Syro" refers to East Syrian or Chaldean Church. We don't agree with that name because we don't have any East syrian or Chaldean heritage. Those who want, let them carry that name "Syro Malabar". We need to find another name for our church. We are Roman Catholics; not Syrian Catholics. We believe that there is no salvation outside the Roman Catholic Church. We are the only Church who worhip and adore Crucifix. As Tom Varkey says "without crucifix there is no salvation". If the other christian denominations want to be saved, they better use crucifixes in their churches.
The people and priests within Syro Malabar churches who want to see Thaamara cross in the alter should get out of our Syro Malabar church and start "Syrian Catholic kalddaaya church" where you are free to have manikyan cross in the alter, you can put powethil pictures also in the alter.
As thaamara cross supporting catholics, you are demeaning our Jesus himself and proclaming your egos than importance to our Jesus in his church.
The main difference between Catholics and protestants is in the cross they put in the alter, Catholics around the world have Crucifix only in their alter where as protestants have plain cross.

The Synod already warned Mar Powthil. They are going to remove him from the Chairmanship of Inter- Church Council. The bishops want to build a better relationship with the leftist Government. They cannot achieve this through Mar Powthil.

The Syros Malabar church needed to bring faithful together for the common future of the church and let them stop dividing the community based on myths and baseless ideology If we are catholic then we should to be proud of the crucifix and never ashamed of crucifix in a catholic altar. Mar Thoma cross can be placed somewhere in the parish office or in the Vicar office.
