കഴിഞ്ഞ ഞായറാഴ്ച അറുപതോളം സഭാവിശ്വാസികള്‍ ഫാ. ജോജിയെ നേരിട്ട് കണ്ടു. "ക്രൂശിത രൂപമല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊരു കുരിശും നമ്മുടെ പുതിയ പള്ളിയില്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കാന്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ അനുവദിക്കില്ല." അച്ചന്‍റെ നിലപാട് അറിയണം.
"ഏത് കുരിശ് സ്ഥാപിക്കാം എന്നതിനെപ്പറ്റി സിനഡില്‍ തീരുമാനമൊന്നുമായിട്ടില്ല": ഫാ. ജോജി. അതൊരു നുണ. തീരുമാന മായിട്ടുണ്ട്. മര്‍ത്താമ കുരിശ് ഒളിച്ചും പാത്തും ഒരു പള്ളിയിലും സ്ഥാപിച്ചു കൂടാ എന്ന് സിനഡ് നേരത്തെ തീരുമാനിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. "പേര്‍ഷ്യന്‍ കുരിശിനെപ്പറ്റി ചരിത്രപരമായോ ദൈവശാസ്ത്ര പരമായോ സഭ ഇതുവരെ പഠനങ്ങള്‍ ഒന്നും നടത്തിയിട്ടില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ട് വേണ്ടാത്ത ചിഹ്ന്നങ്ങളും ആചാരങ്ങളും പ്രവാസി രൂപതകളില്‍ വിശ്വാസികളുടെ മേല്‍ അടിച്ചേല്‍പ്പിച്ചു പിളര്പ്പുണ്ടാക്കരുത്‌. " ഇതിന്‍ ഏത് ഭാഗമാണാവോ ഫാ. ജോജിക്ക് മനസ്സിലാകാത്തത്?
മുകളില്‍ അച്ഛന്‍ പറഞ്ഞത് മാര്‍ തോമാ കുരിശിനോട് ശക്തമായ എതിര്‍പ്പുള്ളവരോട്. "ഏത് കുരിശാണ് അച്ഛാ നമ്മുടെ പള്ളിയില്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കാന്‍ പോകുന്നതെന്ന്" ചോദിച്ച മറ്റ് ചില മിതവാദികളോട് അച്ഛന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു": അതു ബിഷപ്പെന്തു പറയുന്നോ അതു പോലെ ചെയ്യും.".
ചുവരില്‍ കാണുന്ന എഴുത്ത് വായിക്കാന്‍ നമ്മുടെ സഭാധികാരികള്‍ക്കു ഇന്ന് വരെ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല.. ഫാ. ജോജി ഉള്‍പ്പടെയുള്ള അമേരിക്കയിലെ സീറോ മലബാര്‍ പള്ളി വികാരിമാര്‍ മനസ്സിലാക്കണം, ബിഷപ്‌ അങ്ങാടിയത്തിന്റെ തലതിരിഞ്ഞ പരിഷ്കാരങ്ങള്‍ ഇവിടെ വിലപ്പോകില്ലെന്ന് . സീറോ മലബാര്‍ മെത്രാന്മാര്‍ അംഗീകരിക്കാത്ത ഒരു മാറ്റങ്ങളും അമേരിക്കയില്‍ നടപ്പാക്കാന്‍ ഇവിടുത്തെ ജനങ്ങള്‍ സമ്മതിക്കില്ല. പത്തു ക്ലാസ്സും ചെത്ത് പാസ്സും വാങ്ങി വീട്ടിലെ ഗതികേടുകൊണ്ട് അച്ഛനായി, മറ്റ് മാര്‍ഗമൊന്നുമില്ലാഞ്ഞത് കൊണ്ടു പവ്വത്തില്‍ പിടിച്ചു മെത്രാനാക്കി കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ സീറോ മലബാര്‍ സഭയുടെ തന്നെ ഉത്ഥാരകനാകാമെന്നാണ് അങ്ങാടിയത്തിന്റെ പൂതി. ഞങ്ങള്‍ അതിന് എതിരല്ല. ആദ്യം അദ്ദേഹം കേരളത്തില്‍ പോയി അവിടത്തെ കുരിശ് പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്‍ ഒക്കെ പരിഹരിച്ചിട്ട് വരട്ടെ. അതുകൊണ്ട് ആദ്യം തന്നെ അദ്ദേഹം കേരളത്തിലെക്കൊരു മാറ്റം ചോദിക്കട്ടെ. അവിടത്തെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്‍ ഒരുവിധം ഒതുക്കിയിട്ടു വാ, അപ്പോള്‍ നോക്കാം.

The Synod Hierarchical leadership centered at Kakkanad and Ernakulam where ONLY the Crucifix is placed with NO MAR THOMA CROSS placed anywhere in their churches or chapels.the Mar Thoma Cross will not be tolerated at any of the Syro Malabar churches in the U.S. including Chicago and Garland, TX.

Now historians, including Pope are saying there is no proof for St.Thomas visiting Kerala.
In a recent convention at Cochin, the head of the historic reserch center said they tried their best to find any info on St. Thomas visit, but there is no proof what so ever on his visit.
Then the explanation from the priest who attended was, beliefs should be given some value, though there are no proofs.

The above report seems to be correct and if what I heard is correct Fr. Kaniyampadi has gone even beyond. According to word of mouth he even stated “it is our bishop, not the synod ruling our diocese”. If he said this it shows his utter ignorance, total disobedience and absolute lack of knowledge about the Syro Malabar catholic rite. How could a priest ordained in the Syro Malabar system make such a ridiculous statement. According to my understanding Kakanadu is the Vatican for Syro Malabarians and The cardinal is the chief. In one of his Sermon recently he was speaking about the oath of obedience every priest takes at the time of ordination. He says the newly ordained priest offers complete obedience to the “Melpattakkaran” and he stated that the that person is the Bishop who ordains him. In my view the true “Melpattakkaran” is Jesus Christ. Some one has to educate Fr. Kaniyampadi to improve his ill informed ideas and too short band width of knowledge.
There are few individuals who are members of both parish council and construction committee. It looks like Kavalam wants clavar on every pews as well. And no committee members want to reveal any decision that is taken. Dear friends, this is the time to act. Be courageous and have the guts to stand up and say that no more money until we know what we are going to get. Will any of you buy a car without knowing what it comes with? Good points made by anonymous about marthoma cross.This cross is note came to SMC just recently. This cross is part of our faith, roots and tradition.
Even if crucifix is our center of faith, as a SMC we want give respect to our tradition and root. Please don't say bad about marthoma cross. SMC is not latin eventhough we got some influence from latin missionaries.
It is a shame for Tom Varkey and his group went to India and protest in the street like cheap political party!!.

evenif st.thomas came to kerala, he has nothing to do with this cross. this is for sure a persian cross from the middle east where the first christianity began even before the catholic church began in rome. that cross along with syrian traditions brought to kerala by the knanaya bishops and knai thomman. knai thomman is the only thoma or mar thoma in kerala christian community. jesuits made the story of st.thomas.

Fr. Joji has no right to question the Syro Malabar Synod decisions. If the faithful do not want the mar thoma cross, then why he needs that unauthentic icon in the Altar. Bishop Angadiath is not above the pope, not above our Syro Malabar Major Arch Bishop, not above the synod. You have the golden chance now to unite faithful as a community, make use of that opportunity and earn our respect and reverence. The bishop Angadiath lost his opportunity when he failed to listen to the faithful grievances in Chicago and unilaterally installed and enforced his unbelief in the altar. They played their dirty, hide and seek games in Chicago for the Viri and Claver cross and now they are reaping the side effects of not listening to the faithful and to the word of God.

If anything that we find in our church that leads to a non-Catholic trend, then we will be forced to clean it. It is our duty. "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”. Tom is an example.

In many places in the bible we can see that the world formed by HIM . Therefor crucifix is the ultimate icon for a catholic . Mar thoma cross has no merit . it is nothing more than graveyarf cross as head stand in a toumb.

At this time when you are constructing the new church building, please remember that you are building an Eastern Cathoilc church in this western country; not a Roman Catholic church. So it should be properly designed to suite for the oriental way of worship. For us, it is a worship based on the East Syrian liturgical tradition which is now called the " Syro" Malabar tradition.

We have a very serious problem in Chicago, there is an unwanted cross in the Altar, that is the so called the mar-thoma cross. Why we need to elevate a man made creation to the level of creator and confuses the faithful and deviate them to another pegan stream. We are being called to bloom from the dirt, therefore show the good things to the world.
You came to the conclusion that since there’s cross on it, you accept the mar-thoma cross and equate to the crucifix? There are so many crosses floating around the world including a satanic cross and if you visit you local cemetery you can witness a couple of them. Even one of the oldest Asian (Indian sub continent once called BHART which were extended unto Burma and Malaysia) Swastika {su-asti-ka meaning to be good} also has a cross symbol on it. The same swastika (the Nazi symbol is also swastika) used to kill millions during Nazi`s time.
Again you mention that mar-thoma cross is historic? Yes, it is a historic cross; which has divided the church; it eliminated and rooted out faith from the entire Middle East which includes its origin country IRAQ, IRAN, AFGHANISTAN, PAKISTAN, ALL ARAB COUNTRIES, and TURKY ETC. Because of the satanic and evil influence of this pagan cross, we in India failed to reach out Christ until 1900s; the church failed outreach and expand beyond Bhrata Puzha in Kerala until 1900s and still fighting for its survival.
In conclusion any cross never makes the cross in a catholic Altar. Therefore before play with crucifix you are advised to council the Bishop and Chicago priests to cleanup the church from the lifeless recent statues first. As a Christian and primarily as devote Catholics we need to have only crucifix in an altar and init is everything.
Therefore refresh your mind with the biblical precepts of the cross, ask you spiritual advisor for help. If the priest is bible based then he never ever admit the mar-thoma cross. The mar thoma cross can be installed in the churchs office, but not in the Altar.
Are we willing to accept anyone other than our father/mother as our biological father/mother? I think never.

Cut down the contribution to the diocese and outreach other catholic ministries
Only way to straighten the bad situation of the SMC Chicago diocese is through cut down of our weekly contribution to the church. Let us use our resources for the common interests of the Catholic Church by contributing to other American catholic charities. We failed to outreach gospel in India.
In China there are more than 30 million Christians and the number is growing everyday. Instead of paying to the Chicago Syro Malabar diocese please contribute to other catholic and Christian ministries and save a soul in your life time for Christ in China and Africa. You will be rewarded by the Lord.
We do not want a pagan cross in a catholic church. As Catholics we should be proud of the crucifix. Is the servant is greater than the master?
