In the old days there used to be a sacrifical lamb. Those who assembled to pray and participate in the sacrifice completed their participation by eating the sacrificial meal.
In the last supper Jesus used bread and wine. He said he is the sacrificial lamb, and his life will be given in place of a lamb. His desciples ate the bread and completed the symbolic sacrifice. When we do that in his memory, we should be thinking of the real sacrifice that took place shortly after the last supper of Jesus. That is what He wants us to do in his memory - remember him, and he sacrificing himself for us.
So, now, where should the crucifix be placed, since it reminds us of the sacrifice he made for us?

There are people who live the bible and sometimes they are recognized as saints later on. Again its just another way we capitalize on those people's lives and help the church to have more disciples. Remember the survival of any church depends on how much interest it can create in the public and attract them towards it.

I've known Fr.Joji for last 20 plus years. Dont question his personal integrity or motivation.
If you guys attack each priest on a personal level, there wont be anyone who would opt for priesthood in few years.
So can disagree with anyone on issues, but dont get personal.
I'm all for parish general body's decision. If it's crucifix, so be it... If a priest or a member of the parish is against it, disagree with him.. Dont insult him, never EVER insult a priest, that too for personal habbits or likings...
For the purpose of disclosure, I'm hailing from Pala and I'm for crucifix. I respect the priests, disagree with them on most of the things. So never EVER want to insult them.
So please avoid filthy language/ personal attacks; but stick with issue..

Don't you know why people resort to personal attacks? If the priests simply read the orders from diocese, present their opinions/ideas, or give their instructions, then people would respond to that only.
However, when priests try to trick or scare the people, we the people take that personally. That type of behavior from the priests says that they don't respect. When you don't give respect, you don't get respect. Simple as that.
So, you cannot just scream at others demanding respect or complain about getting personal. First, give respect.

We oughta change the attitude little bit in terms of criticism. . I believe there is room for accomodation... We all have to have little bit of moderation while using rough words in this blog...
Otherwise this BLOG is going to be yet another one to tear down the community. Just like it did for Orthodox and Patriarchies communites...
