Earlier every sunday we used to collect many thousands of dollors during the mass collection. Now the total collection does not exceed $500. Now that the money power is coming down, he wants parishoners to give money, so that they can control all money as they wish.
What does this bishop and vinod achan think? We parishioners here are only to give money and they can do all nonsense in the church to put claver/sheela, and distroy our peace? we are not going to give anything until we get assurance that the claver / sheela wont touch our church.

I am glad you came to Garland church on Good Friday. That is the day we all witnessed a miracle there. That day was a Rainy day. But when we start procession the rain stopped. The very next minute after everybody enter the church We all witnessed heavy Rain!!!! I belong to Changanacherry Diocese but I do know that Pala or Changanacherry diocese got special permission from Pope or Cardinal to do their liturgy services in different manner. Please don't think there is lot of SM Catholics in USA against Bishop and Priests, because you see lot of comments against them in this blog.The Majority of SM Catholics who are Going to our church are Very happy about the Opportunity to attend mass in our own mother language ,even though they have to support the church financially. without members Support I don't know how can we pay the bills? I don't under stand why some people crying about this in this blog.They may be not satisfied with Priest or some of the church officials.Priests are human too. Don't expect miracle from them. They are coming from different family and regional(?) back ground.They are like our brother or son.Please under stand this and react mature way.We don't have to be friend with Kaikkaran or other church official.If they make mistakes handle that the right way.Forget regionalism. When we are at church we are one family .God's Chosen people.For the attention of our priests. When you come to a new Parish, you are going to see you many characters. But don't join any kind of group. I am from Irving and I am a member in Coppell church now.I was a member in Garland church before.Thomachan called me and talked to me almost 2 hrs recently and he was telling me that Fr.Saji was the one who transfer the money of $25000 from one account to another.Then I made a reserch about it.I came to know that Thomachan was telling me full of lies.The truth is that he was the kaikaran when this happend and he asked it in parish council and he is the one made achan and Shibu signed to make that transfer.This guy is a problem for this community.He is my friend and I dont want to talk against to him at his face.But I understand his game now.He is trying to split Irving too.He call some other people too in this area.He have a friend here in Irving.You can expect a call him too.Never trust this guys.
Character of a person is intimately associated with the family pedigree. Experience here and back home has time and again shown that people who come from illustrated families show that in their behavior. Unfortunately the problem with this community is that most you do not come from families like that. When you come from families of bullock cart owners and last grade personnel’s it is only natural that the typical behavior gets repeated be it Saji Achen or others. Just remember that nobility is not acquired, it is inherited.

When giving to church, give only enough to support the church.
When giving to priests, give only a small the same amount they are allowed to take (as it is in Kerala).

It has the meaning you mentioned. But it also means, possessing eminence, elevation, dignity, above whatever is low, mean, degrading, or dishonorable, etc.
Based on your argument alone, former president of India is not a noble man because he was born in a low caste; good flowers cannot bloom in the wild. Would you also say that milk from a poor man's cow is bad milk?
I have friends, decent and noble friends. One was born to a blacksmith, grew up without lunch or dinner on some days.

This is in response to Post # 41. There is a saying that exception ALWAYS proves the statement. Coming to the former president of India, he was there not entirely because of his caliber but mainly because of the quota system. Once even a high official at the dioceses of Chicago mentioned to me, that the problems we see in our churches are due to the semi-illusioned, poorly educated men trying to gain social recognition (mostly husbands of health care workers who are often neglected and subjugated at home) at the church. The general lack of quality and decency in the community, because of social upbringing is a reality my friend and it even reflects in the quality of the clergy that are coming now. Bullock cart owners, last grade servants and tea shop owners have their own culture in their family. A ticket to US and a used Lexus do not bring attitude change, be it Saji Achen or anyone else. Tell me my friend why the well educated professionals keep away from this crowd??

I am partially agree with Mr. George (#39).But I don't know There are lot of families like that in our community.I understand his Anger.Good family background is very important.Even if the Family background is not that great Education can make a person's character better. I see lot of examples in our community. Education makes people more humble, except people of vanity.

My wife always complaining my name is printed only on our wedding invitation and on
our check book since I married her ten years ago. Last year I decided to run for the
parish council election and won (only a handful of people participated in the unit meeting
and as we planned my friend proposed my name). Now my NAME & PICTURE is on our church web
site and also my name printed on church bulletin (thanks acha). My wife and kids are
very very happy and proud of me and she told me I have to buy a suit. My wife advised me if
I keep quiet during the parish council meeting, achan will nominate me as next kaikkaran
(one of my dream since we moved from Middle East few years ago). But the sad thing is last
week I had an argument with my wife and she called me “MOOKKILLA RAJYATHU MURIMOOKKAN RAJAVU”,
like parish council/pothuyogam meeting I kept quiet. MAUNAM VIDUVANU BHUSHANAM !
