Dear bishop, instead of telling us some of the facts, why don't you tell us all the facts, and tell it to us wholly and truthfully?
You relieve a priest of his duties on April 6th, and then transfer him to another parish on April 15th?
Transfer after relieving of duties? You are making history. It is like executing a person and then prosecurting him/her.
It is the duty of the clergy to respect the opinions and decisions of the members of the parish. Moreover, it is the duty of the clergy to respect the decision of pothuyogum. The interest of the majority of Coppell church and Pope's order was to install crucifix on the altar. Fr. Saji respected it.
Bishop, you said, Fr. Saji's actions were "detrimental to the best interest of the Diocese". It probably was, but it was uplifting for the best interest of the Catholics in Coppell and all catholcs all over the word. So who is wrong here?

Bishop Angadiath has mentioned in the last paragraph of Confidential letter to the parishioners of St.Alphonsa Church that
the new priest Fr. Varghese is "WELL EXPERIENCED IN MISSIONARY WORK AND PASTORAL CARE".
yES, we need priests and Bishops well experienced in Missionary work and pastoral Care. Definetly Bishops and Priests
should work in Mission Areas of North India or Other Backward places, before being brought to USA and even becoming a Bishop.
Mission priests usually have more experience with real life and that cannot be earned by reading some law books or some philosopy manuals or Just teaching in Colleges.
If this Bishop and "certain" priests has real Mission experience, the tone of the confidential letter "clearly ill written by some manipulators" would have been different and would not have been signed by a Bishop of a Diocese. Clearly the bishop is painstakingly striving for uniqueness in the Global Church, hurting the real feelings of the sheep.
Seemingly He does not care for all these!!. "We need uniqueness, no matter the sheeps are split or not?"
There are more important things than uniqueness in life and Church.

Priests should never get involved in Money Matters. Can Bishop Involve !!@# ?. They should entrust all the Money matters to
reliable persons, chosen by the parish Community- NOT the Vicar or Bishop!!. Priests need to concentrate on the spirituality of people and just be an advisor. They can be free by doing this and will enjoy greater peace of Mind.
Money may be tempting, but it is nothing as it comes and goes. The pleasure it gives is only momentary folks . We all know this fact , but it is hard to forget it , when it comes to Money.

Towards the end of your letter you said, Fr. Saji "was instrumental in taking the building fund from 350K to approximately 1.3M".
When Fr.Saji installed the crucifix on the altar you fired him. When he removed the bath tub and setup proper altar you demanded his immediate departure.
Now you are saying you fired him because spending $11K on beautification of altar would bankrupt the church. A priest who managed to raise 1.3 million in about 8 months is capable of raising 10 times the 11K it cost to build the altar.
Making up more lies will not rectify your previous lies. What you need to do is fire your crooked advisors and subordinates. Then clear your mind of all materialistic ideas they put into you.

It could be true that one of the council members has a criminal back ground.I am not aware of that for sure. That does not mean the person is still a criminal. Why not give a second chance? Remember the bible verse ..it is the sick who needs a doctor, not a healthy person.(the verse is not an exact quotation,sorry. $20K fund for Fr.Xavier Vattayil was raised from public for him. So it should be given to him. Fr. Saji's gift also should have been raised the same way.
