"ഒന്നുകില്‍ ശമ്പളം കൂട്ടി തരിക, അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ചന്തക്ക് സാധനങ്ങള്‍ വാങ്ങാന്‍ വിടുക" എന്ന് ശാട്യം പിടിക്കുന്ന വേലക്കാരിയെപ്പോലെയാണ് നമ്മുടെ സഭാധികാരികള്‍.
അമേരിക്കയില്‍ ഓരോ വര്‍ഷവും നൂറുകണക്കിന് പള്ളികള്‍ അടച്ചുപൂട്ടി പോകുന്നുണ്ട്. പലതും ചുളു വിലയ്ക്ക് വാങ്ങാനും കിട്ടും. എന്നാലും നമ്മുടെ അധികാരികള്‍ക്ക് പുതിയ പള്ളികള്‍ പണിയുന്നതിനോടാണ് കൂടുതല്‍ താല്‍പ്പര്യം.
കാരണങ്ങള്‍ പലതാണ്. അതില്‍ പ്രധാനം വാങ്ങുന്ന പള്ളിയില്‍ അല്‍ത്താരയും ക്രൂശിത രൂപവും ഒക്കെ ഉണ്ടാകും. അത് തല്ലിയുടച്ച്‌ ശീലയും ക്ലാവര്‍ കുരിശും തൂക്കിയാല്‍ ജനങ്ങള്‍ പ്രശ്നമുണ്ടാക്കിയെക്കാം. കോപ്പെലില്‍ സംഭവിച്ച പോലെ.
അതെ സമയം പുതിയ പള്ളി പണിയാന്‍ അധികാരികള്‍ക്ക് നല്ല ഉഷാറാണ്. നാട്ടുകാരുടെ കാശ് ഇഷ്ടം പോലെ വന്നു വീഴുമല്ലോ. തോന്നുംപോലെ കയ്യിട്ടു വാരാന്‍ പറ്റും. ച്ചോട്ടാ നേതാക്കന്മാര്‍ക്കും പുതിയ പള്ളി പണിയുന്നതി നോടാണ് കൂടുതല്‍ താല്‍പ്പര്യം. കാരണം കേറിപ്പറ്റാന്‍ സ്ഥാന മാനങ്ങള്‍ ധാരാളമുണ്ടാകും. നൂറു കൂട്ടം കമ്മിറ്റികളും, സബ്‌ കമ്മിറ്റികളും. കോര്‍ കമ്മിറ്റി, ബില്‍ഡിംഗ്‌ കമ്മിറ്റി, പ്ലാനിംഗ് കമ്മിറ്റി, അങ്ങനെ കമ്മിറ്റികളുടെ കൈലാസം. വേണ്ടിവന്നാല്‍ ഒന്നിലധികം കസേരകളില്‍ ഇരിക്കാന്‍ വരെ ചില മിടുക്കന്മാര്‍ക്ക്‌ കഴിയും. അല്‍മായ നേതാക്കള്‍ ഇങ്ങനെ സ്ഥാനമലങ്കരിച്ചു ഞെളിഞ്ഞ് ആള് കളിച്ചു നടക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അധികാരികള്‍ ചക്കരക്കുടത്തില്‍ നിന്നും കയ്യിട്ടു വാരിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കും.
ദാ, ഇപ്പോള്‍ ചിക്കാഗോയില്‍ ഒരു പുതിയ സംരംഭം. പാര്‍ക്കിംഗ് ലോട്ട് പണിയണം. കൂടാതെ ഒരു ഗ്രോട്ടോയും പണിയണം. പാര്‍ക്കിംഗ് ലോട്ട് മനസ്സിലാക്കാം. ഗ്രോട്ടോ? മനുഷ്യര്‍ക്ക്‌ ഇപ്പോള്‍ തന്നെ പള്ളി കോമ്പൌണ്ടില്‍ നിന്നു തിരിയാന്‍ സ്ഥലമില്ല. എങ്കിലും വേണം ഗ്രോട്ടോ.
മാംസ പ്രദര്‍ശനം നടത്തി ഇതിനുള്ള ഫണ്ട്‌ സമാഹരിക്കാനാണ് പ്രമാണിമാരുടെ തീരുമാനം. കൊടാംപാക്കത്ത് നിന്നും ഒരു പറ്റം ഇറങ്ങിയിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ. പോരാത്ത പൈസ പള്ളിയില്‍ നിന്നും അങ്ങോട്ട്‌ കൊടുത്തു സിനിമാനടി പ്രദര്‍ശനം നടത്തി തുക സംഭരിക്കുക!
ഗ്രോട്ടോ വരേണ്ടത് ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഒരു ആവശ്യമായി അധികാരികള്‍ കാണുന്നു. ഗ്രോട്ടോയില്‍ ഏതായാലും ഒരു നേര്‍ച്ചപ്പെട്ടി കാണുമല്ലോ. കൂടാതെ അവിടെ ഏതെങ്കിലും നൊവേനയും തുടങ്ങാം. വി. യൂദായുടെയോ, അന്തോനീസു പുണ്യവാളന്റെയോ. ശരിക്ക് പൈസ വീഴും. കേരളത്തില്‍ നൊവേന ഇപ്പോള്‍ വലിയൊരു വരുമാന മാര്‍ഗമാണ്. നമുക്കും എന്താ ആയിക്കൂടെ? നൊവേന കുറെ നടത്തിക്കഴിയുമ്പോള്‍ എന്തെങ്കിലും അത്ഭുതം നടക്കാനും സാധ്യതയുണ്ട്. അത്ഭുതം നടന്നു കിട്ടിയാല്‍ പിന്നെ പൈസയുടെ പഞ്ഞം തീര്‍ന്നു. കാരണം ഭക്ത ജനങ്ങളുടെ ഇടിച്ചു കയറ്റമായിരിക്കും.

Since I started going to SMC I feel that I gaining more tolerance to the real "Kerala Attitude" and leadership. I can use that when I go to kerala next time. .No offense. I felt that way after living abroad for 40 years.

അത് കൊണ്ട് നീ പിള്ളേര്‍ക്ക് ഉപദേശം കൊടുക്കുമ്പോള്‍ നല്ലരീതിയിലുള്ള ഉപദേശം കൊടുക്കുക.

Sorry I don't really care if your answer is No. We already know that you are saying all these things about curse because bishop and his cronies are making you do it. So, I believe it will be them who will get the curse. It can go both ways, if you don't know it already.
Make use of the great churches in your area. SMC is a drag on your life and wasting your money to maintain a place for gossiping. There is no use. They will go out of business very soon.
#2 You have a choice. Nobody blocking you to go to Latin English church. Probably that is a better fit for you and people like you!
Or you can stay home on sundays and write paradhooshanam in this blog.You can save lot of money by doing that!
Last week I visited a small church in CA and it is full of gold plates with names on them! The church is in a very bad neighbourhood with high crime rate!. Wondering what they do there with all these plates and how they accomodate the new comers in the future.Any comments from the church?

Last Sunday my friend went to Coppell Syro Malabar church, heard a bunch of threats, and went home feeling sad and scared.

We all have some disagreement with SMC Diocese or Bishops. But as a catholic we should handle this christian way! other wise we cannot say we are" christianee"(followers of Jesus christ
As an Independent Observer I think some members of Coppell Parish not handling things Christian way! That is why we have more problems in Coppell church than other SMC churches.
Brothers, I am not saying you are bad people . But Fix the issues peacefully! Show your strong faith in Jesus that way! Remember what Jesus taught us! This is your best opportunity ! Show us you are real Catholics!

Our bishop was set by vattan thoma, thorappan sunny, pottan reji and chaanathalayn AV. they used kudiyan saju and sheela shibu also.
And our great bishop fell for these guys trap, which is creating lot of problems to all the parties involved and our Coppell Church and our Diocese are in real bad shape.
The news is like this, Vattan, Thorappan and Reji desperately wanted Fr. Saji fired for quite some time just because they were not able to control Coppell church as much as they hoped, and personnel vengeance to Fr. Saji for standing in their way.
They used Crucifix issue to get some cover and with support of Chaanathalayn AV, Sheela Shibu and Kudiyan, this group convinced Bishop if he just comes to the General body meeting in Coppell church the Claver can be installed and sheela can be hung very easily.
This gang really knew Claver installation and Sheela hanging is not going to happen and Bishop is going to get mad at Fr. Saji, who was just conveying the majority opinion of crucifix only alter to the Bishop.
Things just happened as this gang hoped for, Coppell church General body in brutal majority disagreed Bishop’s demand for Claver and sheela, Bishop got upset, fired Fr. Saji, later accused Fr. Saji of financial misappropriation to hide the fact that he was fired just because Fr. Saji sided with majority parishioners decision of crucifix only altar. None of the members of this gang said anything in the general body meeting supporting Claver.
Why did Bishop froze or Coppell church bank account?
Again, isn’t it because this above mentioned gang wanted very much Fr. Saji has to leave with empty hand?
Bishop sided with this gang again, against the majority of Coppell Parishioners.
This gang of Vattan Thoma, Thorappan Sunny, Pottan Reji, Chaanthalyan AV, Kudiyan Saju and sheela Shibu is the reason for all of these happened in Coppell church.
This gang is still in fools land, majority of people in Coppell Church General Body don’t like these guys and they don’t want them to lead them, and Coppell parishioners are wondering when our Bishop is going to realize what damage has been done by him due to this gang misrepresenting facts to him.
Bishop please lead by example, forgive and forget your congregation's and your mistakes.

So why are you still insisting to have this Claver Cross in Coppell Alter?
Is it because few people from our Coppell church misguided you?
Our Chicago Diocese people are listening to the few people calling in to complain about the priest who is not doing what these “frequent callers to the Bishop’s house wants”.
Instead of finding facts about exactly what is going in the church, they take some action and end up in trouble; the majority of faithful in our Dioceses are fed up with these actions by Bishop’s house.
It is time Bishop, you need to realize the fact that, you need to represent the entire congregation not just “the few frequent callers to Bishop House”.
And you are the Bishop for all Diocese people from all southern and northern parts of Kerala.
Fr. Vinod is too young and lacks the experience and it was clearly evidenced while he was at he Coppell church for few weeks, he thinks that he is the wise one in the Diocese and all the parishioners just have to contribute financially and don’t have the right to ask any questions, and he also made this situation in Coppell church worse.
Please show some leadership qualities as a Bishop, take responsibility of your missteps, ask Fr. Varghese to guide this community in love not by having threatening homily messages in the mass.

what is happening in this Syro Malabar diocese in Chicago?
i was talking to a retreat Preacher who visited all the churches. According to him, each church is in a sense independent in liturgy and faith practices.Achens in their repective parishes taking decisions and acting according to their plans and and depending some members who have either family problems or have some personality troubles. Holy mass is celebrated in different places and prayers are added according to their situations. some place have cruxifix and other places Marthoma. some places have viri and other places have no viri or having only on altar. the catechism is taught in different places using different texts. some places dance teachers are the Ccd teachers. most of th churches are giving importance to Star shows and selling and promoting tickets from the altar. one of the shows have the kick off at the altar and the vulgar language and the dresses ae almost everybody knew it already.are we promoting christian values or wanted to make money at any cost?/ the same achen said if you wanted to talk anything to the bishop, all the answer come from Chancellor. the vicar general has no clue about anything. there is a journalist in chicago who is famous for stealing the matters writtn by others will publish any garbage written by any palli committee members.the best example is the news about the Achen in PA whose trustee resigned and most othe parishioners are turned against him for his one man show and panakothi. read deepika pravasi vartha... it is no wonder a syro achen is using cursing languages during homily. these poor achens have no choice and if said something independently, loosing the job and income. they never have any experience american churches or have no contact with the american culture.none of the achens are happy with the diocesan authorities. the retreat preacher had a private conversation with all these achens.according to him all these achens have concerns aout the future of the diocese. more importance should be given to the problems faced by the youngsters, leacing churches, marriage issues, increasing divorces, drugs.alacholism etc. according to him, if the diocese won't pay attention to these matters, we will be using more families. kurisu and viri were the biggest issues in kerala for some years. now increasinfg pentacostal churches and other moral issues are major concerns. he also said to be aware of the lay retreat preachers here too.anyway, me and my family are not going for any star shows organized by the palli committe and aproved by bishops. we are on the process of conversion and watching the shalom tv. what all i wrote is for better understanding and for open dialogue.
i wish this blogg is used for further discussion on the issues faced by the kerala families here. education is the key.
