The Syro Malabar Curia needs to take strong action against the Chicago Syro Malabar authority and to remove the current Bishop, the Vicar, the Chancellor and Vicar general from their current role. They are not worthy for our communities spiritual developments. There are many good priests in India who have very good experience in diocesan and parish administrative skills. We do not want runway priests from India in USA.

All the problem is not the Bishop or priests. The problems are the people from Kerala.
They have invited money hungery priests from Kerala and created a Bishop. Now its out of thier control. There is nothing much people could do to correct them. People respect the Title of Bishop, (even current bishop is getting respect just because of his title). Church leaders are much smarter and more educated than most of the members of the community, so they are able to manipupate the facts and take advantage of the people.
Only becasue of few miniorty peoples rewardless efforts to publish the actions many are able to know whats going on in our community. Even though they are publishing the wrong actions for the leaders, I am confident that they also respect the title of bishop and priests.
In short, is there a way out to correct them? Only God can do some miracle to fix them...
For all Catholics, Pope is our supreme authority and Vatican is the supreme source for all faith related matters and we always believe that pope is always foolproof in all religious and biblical teaching.
Bishop Angadiath is not following Pope’s direction and he is not following Vatican’s directions also. Therefore it is very difficult to follow and respect him as the Bishop of Syro Malabar community in USA. It has been proven that Bishop Angadiath is an anti-catholic.
Is there a way out to correct them? Yes.
In catholic churches, the crucifix on the altar has Jesus' body on it and it will be most the important symbol so that every body can see it, while in Protestant churches, the cross is empty.
The bishop needs to accept Vatican’s teaching on religious matters. As per the Vatican’s direction Crucifix should be the main symbol in a catholic Altar and nothing can replace and comparable to a crucifix and the crucifix should be center point for both priest and the congregation and there is no alternative to this practice.
Therefore to solve the unholy situation of SMC-USA, the bishop needs to remove all the pegan claver cross and veil from the church. The Bishop Angadiath and his biased priests are 100% responsible and accountable for all these mess. If the bishop is for the benefit of the faithful and the Catholic Church, then he needs to accept his faults and decently remove the Veil and the claver cross from the church. This will be the only solution to the problem.
Otherwise let our incapable bishop retire and go to serve in India with his foolish, money hungry advisors namely Kadupple, Thundathil, and Thotuvelil etc to Gujarat and show their strength in India.

The SMC remains unique in several ways. Few scholars
would debate that the present SMC status is, as a popular
expression puts it: "Hindu in culture, Christian in religion and
Oriental in worship." The church is known as Syrian for its
contact with the East Syrian church and for the Syriac language
which was used in church worship until 1968, when the Mass was
said for the first time in Malayalam, Kerala's mother tongue.
The SMC is deeply rooted in Indian culture. Since the time of St.

several Hindu customs are now essential part of Syro-Malabar rite.In the 16th century, Portuguese missionaries with the support of
an aggressive colonial army converted many Indians, while imposing
a Western form of administration on the government and even the
Catholic Church. Their efforts eventually provoked a reaction; the
Koonan Cross Oath of 1653 was the culmination of resistance
against the Portuguese Jesuits, who were found sadly lacking in
their little respect for local traditions and practice. The over-
zealous missionaries had tried to force western Latin church
practices, and had interfered with the church functioning. In
place of the Chaldean Persian bishops who had served them for
centuries, the Catholics of India now had European bishops-- a
practice which continued until late in the 19th century, when the
first Syro Malabar vicariate was established in 1896.
hen the Thomas Christians were separated from the Latins by the
establishment of their own apostolic vicariate in 1887 and a
hierarchy was established in 1923, it was called Syro-Malabar
Church. After setting up the SMC hierarchy in 1923, Rome initiated
several steps to protect the liturgical patrimony of the SMC, and
a pontifical commission was appointed in 1934 to restore the
traditions of the Syro-Malabar liturgy.
Through the 1960s there were several changes in the SMC liturgy,
and in 1986 another new liturgy was approved in Rome. The new

tradition, was introduced in 1986 during a visit by Pope John Paul

Syro-Malankara Church?
This is the break away part of Syrian Jacobite Church and it follows the same mass as of jacobite rite and has only plain cross.
The only similarity for this Syro- Malankara Rite to Syro- Malabar church is that they both consider the pope as the head.
So the "Breakway Jacobite group" called Syro-Malalnkara (Reethu) is still following jacobite rite and under Pope, this is also creating confusion among Syro-Malabar Christians.
Syro-Malalnkara (Reethu) is Under pope, following Jacobite mass and all services, it is mixture of east and west churches.
But Catholic churches are under pope and should follow western Christianity.
Real catholic churches only have Cruciifx in the altar everywhere in the world.
Mar Powathil’s fight for the Holy Mass according to the Chaldean rite, and also the projection of the Manickeyan cross as ‘Mar Thoma cross’ was designed to stamp our church as the ‘daughter-church’ (Puthreesabha) of the Chaldean church, so that the Eastern Canon law could be enforced here.
Bishop, please do not fabricate your own gospel.
If the bishop do not biblically bind to the faithful then do not contribute to the church. Contribute to feed the children program or help other charitable institution that supports homeless and orphans in USA.

The cross is a powerful Christian symbol, not limited to Catholics. It represents the cross upon which Christ died. The cross is present all around the church's interior: on the altar cloth, in the Stations of the Cross, and even on the priest's vestments.
Symbol cross should have a place in the church (on any table top, on vest of any priest or their undergarments etc), but certainly not in the altar to worship.

There is no doubt, there will not be a single catholic priest who brought up and breast fed by a catholic mother never ever admits a pagan cross as a replacement to a crucifix. The Mar Thoma cross does not have any intrinsic worth to be placed in the altar.
Bishop, we urge you to remove the ugly VEIL and the Mar Thoma cross from the altar of all churches in USA and try to be our real shepherd. The shepherd supposed to stand for the sheep; however you are silently killing and dragging us.
The SMC-USA is the modern time FIG TREE without any real good fruits init, meaning the SMC_Administration lost its identity under the current Bishops and with his few corrupt priests. The SMC Chicago diocese is not welcoming Jesus.
The happenings of SMC is really heart breaking to the faithful and if the current situation continues then there will be mass departure of Syro Malabar Catholic to other protestant denomination in USA. Kadupple and the impotent Vicar general. The believers are slowly being dragged into the protestant main stream with the cost of catholic resources by the Chicago Syro Malabar diocese.
SMC’s existence in USA is due to the US Governments liberal religious tolerance policies in association with American Latin churches and USA is the only country on earth which has a deep rooted, wide spread secular background like India. As a church and faithful, we are blessed with a diocese in USA to preserve our faith. However, the SMC authorities in Chicago played their dirty tricks, they looted and cheated the faithful and build a cathedral to play their dirty unholy politics. They saliently hanged their dirty politics and pagan theology in the holiest of holy.

In a Catholic Holy mass the bread and wine offered on the altar table remind you of the body of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross or crucifix. For Catholics `word became flesh in its entirety and in all aspects during a mass`. In a protestant churches the pastor’s bible reading and preaching is important and the holy host and wine doest not have much superiority over the biblical teachings. Here in SMC-Chicago we are in between. To where we heading to?
The bishop is not obeying his boss and the pope, then how his priest obeys him. Bishop is became the loud speaker of his worldly retired master.
