Thanks to Our Readers

This week Syro Malabar Voice crossed an important milestone. It was visited by over 3 million times by people from all over the world, but mainly from the North American continent. Among them were people who loved and appreciated what we were doing, and of course, people who hated our very guts for what we stood for.

We have heard many times people asking: what have the Voice achieved for all this labor. We ask them to think what our church authorities have NOT achieved because of our labor. Our firm stand against the abuse of power by our clergy has certainly discouraged them from very many disastrous misadventures.

Thank you for your readership. The struggle continues.

Congratulations, Blog. My hats off to you for the tenacity that you have displayed in the face of many challenges and criticisms. You have truly been faithful to your mission. Mother Teresa used to say that ‘it is not how successful you have been, but how faithful you have been’. In fact what Jesus says to the faithful servant in his parable who has been entrusted with 5 talents and earned another 5 is worth noting here. The master says to him: "You have been faithful in small things; I am going to entrust you with greater things because you have been faithful in small things."
In fact there is a favorite song of mine titled "The Anchor Holds" (I think). The picture portrayed in the song is a small sail ship which is exposed to violent storms in the open sea. Its sail are all tattered into little pieces after being battered violently by the storm. But the ship holds on to its anchor to the very end. I am proud to commend the Blog for achieving this landmark achievement of reaching 3 million readership. More importantly holding on to your anchor in spite of the violent storms of criticisms, intimidations, accusations, etc. etc. I encourage you to stay on your course. Just as it takes sometimes 10 strikes with a sledge hammer to break a huge rock and we don’t see any results from any one of the strikes until that final 10th strikes, often the results may not come soon.
To take an example from the Bible, the City of Jericho did not fall until the 7th round was completed circling the City walls according to instructions from God. That did not mean that anyone of the 6 going around the Israelites did that preceded the 7th round was in vain. One of these days, we will achieve our goal of conquering victory over ‘Kaldayavalkaranam’ in the Syro-Malabar Church. But whether we are able to do it or not, we will all be rewarded for each step we take in fighting for the cause and holding on to our anchor who is none other than Jesus Christ, our mighty Savior who promises the victory no matter what as we read in 1 Cor. 15:57. Once again, congratulations. Keep up the good work and stay on course -- like a faithful servant.
